The first two generations (internally designated V40 and V41) of the Quest were short-wheelbase models co-developed and manufactured with Ford, aside its badge engineered Mercury Villager. For model year 2004 and the third generation (V42), Nissan ended its joint venture with Ford, manufacturing the Quest on its own. For model year 2011, the fourth generation (RE52) became a widened variant of the Nissan Elgrand minivan and was now manufactured in Japan. The 2012 Nissan Quest caught our eye and changed our minds about minivans! It has a luxurious feel and stylish design that reminds us of first-class travel. We opted for the Quest SL in Pearl White and have already put 1,000 miles on it during our recent vacation. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it gets up to 24 mpg on the highway, and even managed to get 25 mpg on some stretches. While we didn't quite hit the advertised 19 mpg in the city, we still got a respectable 16-17 mpg. The comfort we experienced on our road trip more than made up for any difference in fuel efficiency. Overall, we are thrilled with this fantastic vehicle!

We bought this van because we were tired of struggling to get our 2-year-old in and out of our SUV due to the close proximity of parked cars and our doors. Like many people, we were hesitant to become a 'mini-van' family, but we quickly realized how wrong we were. The smart key, power sliding doors, and lift gate make it incredibly easy to get our child and all of their belongings in and out of the van. I especially appreciate that the rear row folds flat instead of into the cargo compartment (although those are power too, the pull strap is also very easy to use). We recently took a 400 mile round trip and had plenty of cargo space for all of our luggage and party supplies for a birthday celebration. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend this van to other families.

Firstly, I would like to express my opinion that the van is an excellent purchase for the price. In comparison to the Odyssey or the Sienna, it is a much better buy. While the exterior styling is a matter of personal preference, we find it appealing. The interior is truly impressive! In terms of value, I believe that the SL trim is the best option. I would not pay almost 10k more for some extra features in the LE. However, it is important to note that the fuel tank problem is a major flaw in this van. Before purchasing, it is crucial to be aware of this issue. It is not the software problem addressed by the March 2012 recall, and unfortunately, the recall did not fix the problem. In fact, the recall fix even negatively affected the gas mileage of the van.

This van is really enjoyable to drive. What makes it so fun is how luxurious and comfortable you feel while driving it. I seriously considered the Odyssey and Sienna, but you just get more for your money with this one. The looks are also much better than the others. My boys love the entertainment DVD. The iPhone Bluetooth is good, but not great, as well as the input for listening to music from your iPhone. It works, but you have to play around with it a little to get sound from different apps. You get this van for its value and the look and feel. The others are good if you want more amenities like a cooler or split-screen DVD. In my opinion, this one feels the most comfortable.

We initially had our sights set on the Sedona, Sienna or GC for over 6 months, as we were not looking for a Quest. Although I was already preapproved, I was not convinced about the reliability issue of the three, and the high price but low feature content of the Sienna. However, when we walked into a dealership and test drove a Quest, we were blown away. The comments about high price and limited cargo room were simply not true. The year-end clearance made the price very competitive, and the van is very spacious, with a PERMANENT 3rd row storage and regular 3rd row storage, for a total of 37 cubic feet! After 2.8 years of ownership (and 55K miles), we have found that the mileage has been consistently excellent for a minivan this size, with combined City/Hwy at 23 mpg and pure hwy mpg up to 27.5, depending on how we drive. We have not experienced any rattles whatsoever, and the seats are very comfortable. The available storage is also underrated, with about 37 cu ft available, on par with other vans. The engine and overall performance are the best selling points, as we could drive a minivan fully loaded in the winter and still get up to 27.5 mpg on the highway. Mixed driving is consistently at 23 mpg. After 4 years of ownership (93K miles), we did experience a CEL issue, but it has been resolved, inadvertently caused when we had a quick lube shop do a fuel system cleaning.The carbon build-up/cleaning caused issues with the rear O2 sensors, but I had them cleaned and the CEL has not come back on since. Although I paid below market for the base model, I regret not getting all the Google Play/iOS features. My combined summer mileage has been 22 mpg, but I expect it to improve in the fall. After 7 years of ownership and 154K miles, I have had to replace the alternator at 110K miles and the factory-installed battery at 142K miles, which is not bad. I also changed the spark plugs at 144K miles, which improved my highway mileage from 24 MPG to 27 MPG. Fortunately, there have been no squeaks or rattles, and the upholstery, car paint, and electricals are holding up well. Overall, I have not experienced any mechanical problems.

We had a great experience with our Nissan Quest, but unfortunately, after the warranty expired, we encountered some issues. The car is currently at the Nissan Service center, and requires $6500 worth of repairs on the CVT transmission and AC unit. Unfortunately, we are unable to afford the repairs at this time, as we still owe $15,000 on the car. Despite the fact that there have been a number of documented complaints on 2010-2012 Nissans CVT transmissions and Nissan Quest A/C units, Nissan has not been able to offer us any support. We have found that the car requires frequent tire replacements and brake maintenance, which can be quite expensive. If you are considering purchasing a used mini van, we recommend looking into a Kia Sedona, which has a stronger warranty.

The car is comfortable and easy to drive, but unfortunately, we have had some mechanical issues. We have had to replace several parts, including the transmission, solenoid, ball joint, alternator, and sensors. Additionally, the air conditioning system stopped working, and the warranty did not cover the repairs due to road damage. We have also had some issues with the Bluetooth connection and the plastic on the doors. Unfortunately, the passenger door seal is leaking, causing mold inside. We have had to replace the tires frequently, which has been a challenge. Despite these issues, we plan to keep the car for another year to drive our kids to practices around their school. While we have had some problems with this Nissan/Infinity vehicle, we appreciate its comfort and ease of use. Thank you for considering our feedback.

I have always praised the space and comfort of my Quest, which have been strong selling points for me. While I had no maintenance concerns until now at 90,000 miles, the recent AC compressor and transmission valve issues have been disappointing. Despite having the valve replaced, it is clear that the transmission is still faulty. As a brand new vehicle that I purchased 5 years ago, I expected better quality.

It's such a shame that the CVT transmission failed on my van so early on. Unfortunately, the cost to replace it was very high. Despite knowing that the transmissions are of poor quality, NISSAN was unwilling to help. It's disappointing because the local dealer is really good. This experience has left me feeling quite frustrated.

I purchased a 2012 Nissan Quest almost a year ago, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a horrible mistake. In hindsight, I should have looked at the Odyssey before making my decision. Like other Quest owners, I have already encountered some problems with it, which is disappointing considering the high price tag of over $30,000. During my visit to the dealership, I had it appraised and was shocked by the numbers. With less than 25,000 miles on it, I was already $9,000 upside down. I was very upset that my investment was not protected in any way. However, I decided to take the plunge and get an Odyssey instead, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It's the best! Best decision I ever made.
