The Nissan Quest is a minivan manufactured and marketed by Nissan for model years 1993–2017 over four generations.
The first two generations (internally designated V40 and V41) of the Quest were short-wheelbase models co-developed and manufactured with Ford, aside its badge engineered Mercury Villager. For model year 2004 and the third generation (V42), Nissan ended its joint venture with Ford, manufacturing the Quest on its own. For model year 2011, the fourth generation (RE52) became a widened variant of the Nissan Elgrand minivan and was now manufactured in Japan. For the preceding generations, the Quest loosely shared its chassis and powertrain with the Nissan Maxima.
Following the decline of minivan sales in North America, Nissan ended sales of the Quest after the 2017 model year.

- Summary: I backed out of driveway towards the south to head north on public way. Vehicle immediately started accelerating backwards (south) without assistance, quickly getting out of control. No amount of pressure on my part would make the brakes work and there was no control of the steering. The vehicle was no longer under my control and crashed backwards into a large tree which held it from crashing farther, and a small tree on the side which held it from rolling down into a brook. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I would prefer that it be inspected. No vehicles or pedestrians were in the street when the vehicle lost all control without human assistance. The passenger is front passenger seat was taken to ER and has since been seeing a doctor. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or other service center. The police were at scene of accident right after it occurred. No lights, messages, or other symptoms gave any warning before the vehicle started racing and immediately went out of control with no control over speed, brakes or steering The consumer provided photos and police report.

Additionally, the control arms were loose and the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact stated while driving the steering wheel was shaking and was unable to accelerate over 40 mph. 2008 Nissan Quest recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2008 Nissan Quest.
- Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc.
- Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2008-2011 Titan, Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder, Armada, and 2008-2009 Quest vehicles. The resin emblem on the driver's air bag cover may develop cracks and detach during air bag deployment.
- Consequence: A detached emblem can become a projectile during air bag deployment, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the drivers airbag cover. Owner letters were mailed December 8, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall are PC944, PC945, and PC946.

- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES
- Summary: NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 TITAN, ARMADA, AND INFINITI QX56, AND MODEL YEAR 2008-2009 NISSAN QUEST VEHICLES. THE BRAKE PEDAL PIVOT PIN END WAS NOT SPIN-FORMED TO SPECIFICATION DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. THE PIVOT PIN COULD SLIDE AND CAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PARTIALLY DISENGAGE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET.
- Consequence: THE DRIVER WILL EXPERIENCE UNUSUAL AND NOTICEABLE LOOSENESS IN THE PEDAL AND A REDUCTION IN BRAKING FORCE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT TO SEE IF THE PIVOT PIN HAD BEEN FORMED PROPERLY AND WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY IF NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 22, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

- Summary: NISSAN IS RECALLING 1,126 MY 2008 QUEST, TITAN AND ARMADA VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL ADJUSTMENT FRONT SEATS. THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS." THE SEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATION.
- Consequence: THIS MAY RESULT IN THE MANUAL SEAT PAWL NOT FULLY ENGAGING INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURIES IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE SEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVER'S AND FRONT PASSENGER SEATS AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT ASSEMBLY FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 27, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

I'm so excited to share that my SE Quest comes with a dual DVD screen and navigation system! My family and I fell in love with the style and interior design of the van, so we decided to take the plunge and purchase it. While I was a bit unsure about the long-term reliability of the Quest, I was willing to take the risk. It's no secret that the Quest has superior exterior and interior designs compared to other major vans like the Odyssey and Sienna. The only downside for me was the front seats, which I found a bit uncomfortable. However, I'm happy to report that the van is much quieter than its competitors.

With a large family of 4 children, we have to drive a mini-van. However, the Nissan Quest is not your average mini-van. It feels like you're driving a luxurious car, not just a soccer mom vehicle. The interior is amazing, my husband and I even argue over who gets to drive it. I highly recommend this van to anyone in the market for a new mini-van with a large family.

We checked out Honda, Toyota, and Nissan to find the perfect transportation for our needs. Luckily, the Nissan had everything we were looking for at the right price! We were thrilled with the 29.6 mpg we got on our 300-mile highway drive to the shore the following week, thanks to the cruise control. Even with mixed driving, we still get a respectable 21 mpg. The base model's tinted glass is a nice touch, and it has plenty of space to carry everything we need for a family vacation. Plus, the acceleration is fantastic for getting on the highway. We couldn't be happier with our choice!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my 2008 van. When I first bought it with only 500 miles, I was a bit surprised that someone would trade in a vehicle with such low mileage. However, I was really drawn to the style and the lay down 2 row seats. Unfortunately, after my first long ride of over 100 miles, I found the ride to be quite hard and it left my kidneys aching for two days. I went back to the dealership and they were really helpful, trying different things like exchanging the tires, using nitrogen, and adjusting the seating position with electronic seat and manual lumbar adjustment. While some of these things helped a bit, I still couldn't get completely comfortable. I talked to managers and other salespersons, but unfortunately, we couldn't find a solution. We even tried switching from leather seats to cloth, but that didn't make a difference either. Overall, I really appreciate the dealership's efforts to help me out, but unfortunately, the ride just wasn't comfortable for me. Thanks for listening!

This car is great when it's brand new, but after just four months it starts to show its age. Unfortunately, the interior can sound like it's ten years old with wind, rattling, and vibrations. I've had some issues with customer support, as they seem to overlook my problems with a bit of arrogance. They say there's nothing abnormal, but I'm not convinced.

We purchased our van in 2008 with the hope of owning a brand new vehicle. Unfortunately, within a year, we experienced some issues such as the mirror visor breaking off, the armrest falling off, and the rubber seals on the side doors coming off. Today, while driving, I heard a flapping noise and noticed that the metal insert on top of the van, where the racks would be, was flapping on the side of the van. I had to pull over to prevent it from hitting someone else's vehicle. It seems like the vehicle is made cheaply, considering the short amount of time we've had it.

Lots of space. You got a good deal on it, so it's a great value. It drives very much like a big car, with good power and pretty decent gas mileage (18 city - 24 to 25 highway). I agree with others that the body structure is a little loose.

Within the first year and a half, I had to take my van back to the dealer for quite a few fixes. There was a missing piece in the braking component, which they promptly replaced. They also had to replace the seals for the sliding door and hatch, and the visors broke off just by opening them, but they were replaced as well. My van was bogging while driving and the check engine light came on, so I had to tow it back to the dealership. They changed out the cylynoids and two major components for the A/C, which used to come on only when it felt like it. Unfortunately, when I went to pick up the van after the A/C repair, it wouldn't start. In the end, I couldn't lemon law it because I didn't have 3x for the same problem. So, I traded the van in for a 2009 Altima. Wish me luck! :)
