What year 350Z is reliable?
Short and simple: Shoot for an 07-08, but don't dismay if you can't. Really solid and reliable platform. The VQ engine is nearly bulletproof, just keep the oil topped off, some can eat a wee bit of oil overtime, mainly 03-06 (DE and Rev-up DE). Trans for 03-06 have known synchro issues, but few and far between.
Is 350Z engine good?
Great in stock form
Driving a Nissan 350Z with a stock engine is a hugely enjoyable experience. The engine isn't especially powerful, but it pulls cleanly all the way to its stock redline of 6,500 rpm, and thanks to variable valve timing, it also feels torquey lower down in the revs when you're just cruising around.
Is Nissan 350Z a bad first car?
In conclusion, the Nissan 350Z can be a great first car for drivers who are looking for a car that is fun to drive and has impressive performance. However, the car may not be the best choice for new drivers or those who are on a tight budget.
How long can a 350Z engine last?
Longevity really depends on the use case, as well as maintenance and how well the owner has taken care of the vehicle. Generally speaking, You can expect a Nissan 350Z to last around 250,000 miles on average, provided the vehicle is serviced regularly and maintained properly.

This car is simply the best, with or without traction control. I absolutely love it! Every drive puts a smile on my face. It's incredibly tight and well-built. I've owned many Porsches and BMWs, and the only cars that handle better are the M3, GT3, and Corvette Z06. While the Nismo could use a bit more power, the 306hp V6 falls a bit short in terms of torque and pull. However, for a price range of $30-35K, this is the car that deserves a spot in my garage.

Hey there! I was on the hunt for a car that was stylish, unique, and zippy, and I found everything I was looking for with the Nismo! It's an absolute blast to drive, and every time I get behind the wheel, it feels like I'm heading to an auto X. I test drove a few other cars, including the STI, G35, and RSX, but I truly believe that the Nismo is the fastest and best handling out of the three. The performance is excellent, hands down! While the interior isn't super fancy, it's still pretty good. The car has been purpose-built, so things like leather and power seats were left out to keep the weight down. The ride can be a bit bumpy due to the seam-welded body, but if you're like me and love feeling connected to the road, you'll absolutely adore this car. Oh, and the exhaust roars, FYI! I like to joke that it runs on diced lions. :)

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to say that I'm so excited to hear about your new '08 Z! It sounds like you're really enjoying it and I'm glad to hear that. It's always great to have a car that you can just enjoy without worrying about modifications. I hope you continue to have a great time with your new sports-car!

My last 3 cars have been sports cars (Mustang GT, Subaru WRX, 350Z) and I have to say, this one trumps them all! It pulls beautifully, runs great, and is super reliable with amazing performance. I just love it and highly recommend it!

I had the opportunity to trade in my '07 350Z Roadster Touring (equipped) for a new '08 Nismo. What a difference in handling, speed, and fun! The Nismo is everything my old '75 280Z had, accentuated to the highest level and then some. It's a joy to drive, and I'm sure it would be fun to push to its limits on a track. However, I just love driving it 0-60 (or so) and enjoying the car's superb cornering and acceleration capabilities. I agree with the review about the stereo being poor, but when I put my iPod adapter in, the sound quality improved significantly. As the speakers break in, the sound will only get better. Meanwhile, I'm just driving around with a big smile on my face, enjoying this car more happily than the convertible!

The interior paint/coating on all plastic panels (door, dash, etc) scratches off with normal use to reveal a white plastic. However, this is a known issue that Nissan has chosen not to address. In contrast, I have owned five different cars, all older than the 350 and with more mileage, and have not experienced this issue. Unfortunately, this problem started soon after the warranty expired, 36 months. As a result, I had to have all these panels removed and painted by a body shop. Additionally, the power window motors also stopped working, which is another known problem that Nissan has not solved. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Nissan.

The car can be uncomfortable to sit in for extended periods of time. The center console and door-mounted armrest are located quite low, which can be uncomfortable for your hip bones. You may find yourself having to stretch your arms out to reach the wheel. Additionally, the car can be quite bumpy on the road. However, there are other sporty cars available that offer a more comfortable ride. Have you considered a Ford Mustang GT? It has 300hp, more room, a great interior, and a better working convertible top. We switched to the Mustang and have not looked back since!
