- Summary: Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2011 Mazda2 and 2010-2011 Mazda3 and Mazdaspeed3 vehicles equipped with a manual seat lifter. In the affected vehicles, the seat height adjustment lifter links may break or detach from the seat frame and the seat angle may incline causing the driver to not be able to maintain an appropriate driving position.
- Consequence: If the driver cannot maintain an appropriate driving position, there is an increased risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat lifter links and install a reinforcement bracket to the lifter links, or replace the entire seat adjuster unit, free of charge. The recall began April 7, 2017. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda's number for this recall is 0917B.

The Mazda 2 is an amazing car that is often overlooked in the U.S. market. Despite living in a metro area where subcompacts are common, I have only seen one other on the road since purchasing mine over a month ago. It's a great car that provides a satisfying driving experience at an affordable price. I find it hard to understand why Mazda dealerships can't seem to give them away. While some may view the 2 as just a cheap economy car for those on a budget, I beg to differ. As a fan of Euro-style small, quick hatches (my last car was a Ford SVT Focus), I had to give the 2 a try and I was not disappointed. It's an incredibly fun car to drive, with impressive features, fuel mileage, and practicality that make it a great all-arounder.

Driving in rush hour DC metro traffic is a breeze! While it may not beat a high HP car, it's still quick and fun. The shifter is a joy to use, although it took me a while to get used to the light gas, brake, and clutch pedals. On my first tank, I got an impressive 34 MPG, followed by 42 MPG on the second, and 38 MPG on the third. I opted for the black color, which really makes the car look sharp. With the seats up, I can easily fit a week's worth of groceries in the cargo space. And when I fold the seats down, I can even make a trip to Costco! The ride is just right, not too soft and not too hard. While I don't usually carry more than one passenger, I haven't had any issues with passenger room. Although the Fiesta has more features, the 2 is definitely more fun!

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with the Mazda 2 HB Automatic. As someone who has owned 3 Mazdas in the past, I can confidently say that this vehicle matches or even exceeds the quality of my previous cars. The room inside is outstanding, especially for a 6' commuter like myself. I have plenty of legroom and ample headroom. The seat is also thicker, deeper, and more supportive than its sister Fiesta. The body is firm and has 5 solid closing doors. The engine response is fast and nimble, with excellent suspension. Plus, the automatic transmission shifts smoothly up or down. And the best part? My fuel mileage is 37.8 MPG city/highway, which is above the sticker rating! Overall, I think this is a fantastic ZOOM vehicle that is priced well. This car is an absolute blast to drive! It feels like a comfortable go-kart and makes tooling around town so much fun. Even at 35 MPH, it feels fast and on the highway, it handles 80 MPH with ease. The build quality is excellent and the interior feels solid. While it may lack some bells and whistles, I personally have no use for Bluetooth and prefer my own GPS over the one offered in other competing models.

The price is also very reasonable, especially with the touring package, which offers great value for money. It's a shame that it doesn't come with SYNC and SAT radio, but the outstanding gas mileage more than makes up for it.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my cars. I had a 2002 Protege5 for nine years, which was the longest I've ever had a car. I really enjoyed it and it still looked good, but I was ready for a change, so I decided to buy the 2011 Mazda 2 hatchback. Unfortunately, it hasn't been the best fit for me. It's a bit too light and skips all over the road, and the trunk and back seat are too small. The fuel economy hasn't been great either, but I'm hoping to trade it in before any major issues arise. Despite these challenges, I've only put 12K miles on it and have taken two round trips, each less than 1000 miles. I'm actually planning another 800 mile round trip in two weeks! I'm a bit disappointed that the 2011 model hasn't lived up to my expectations, especially compared to my trusty 2002 Protege5. Thanks for listening!

My wife and I were in the market for a smaller car with better gas mileage than our 96 Maxima. We considered several options, including the Toyota Yaris, Prius C, Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, Mazda 2, Ford Fiesta, and Chevy Sonic. Ultimately, we chose the Mazda 2 because it and the Fit were the only two assembled in Japan, and I value Japanese quality. While we've only had the car for 5 weeks and I'm not thrilled with the dealership, I'm hopeful that things will improve. I did experience some discomfort after a 2-hour drive, but I understand that it's not a car designed for long road trips. Additionally, the gas mileage hasn't quite lived up to the advertised numbers, but I've always gotten better mileage than the window sticker suggests.

I purchased my 2011 Mazda 2 brand new in November 2010 and initially wrote a glowing review about how fun it is to drive. However, I have had some issues with it, especially with the brakes, since hitting 15k miles. The dealer tells me that the brakes are safe and that the squeaking is due to the brake pad composition, but it's still embarrassing when it squeaks at both low and high speeds. Additionally, I had to flush the transmission at 20k miles because the fluid it comes with is cheap junk. Despite these issues, I have decided to trade it in for a Honda Fit this weekend. As a buyer, I have decided to avoid Mazdas in the future. I would recommend considering a car with a better warranty and saving your money for a bigger payment.
