2019 Maserati Levante problems
The Maserati Levante (Tipo M161) was an executive crossover SUV produced by Italian manufacturer Maserati at the Mirafiori factory in Turin from 2016 to 2024. The Levante went on sale in Europe in May 2016, and in North America in September 2016, remaining on sale into 2024. Production of the Levante ceased by the end of March 2024, commemorated with the release of a top-spec 424BHP special edition.
The Levante was named after a warm, easterly wind that blows in the western Mediterranean Sea, southern France, down to the Strait of Gibraltar. The name of the wind, in turn, comes from the Latin word "levare", which means "to rise". Its design is based on the Kubang concept car that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Common 2019 Maserati Levante problems
The Maserati Levante, a luxury sport crossover, has been praised for its superb performance and distinctive design. However, some issues have been reported by owners, particularly with the 2017 model year.
One of the most common problems is an engine seizure, which is the most-reported issue for the 2017 Maserati Levante. This issue can be quite serious, as it can lead to a complete engine failure. The average cost to fix this problem is not available, and it occurs at an average mileage of 10,000 miles. This problem can be a significant concern for potential buyers, as it can lead to costly repairs and downtime.
Another issue reported by owners is related to the gearbox. Although the engine and gearbox are generally considered to be very solid, there is a risk of minor parts failing. For example, one owner reported a problem with the passenger's side door, which could cause reliability problems down the road. This issue can be particularly concerning for those who plan to use their Levante as a daily driver.
The Levante's interior has also been criticized by some owners. Although the interior is generally considered to be well-designed and luxurious, some owners have reported issues with the quality of the materials used. For example, one owner reported that the interior did not match the price of the car, and that some parts seemed to be of lower quality than they should be. This issue can be particularly concerning for those who plan to use their Levante as a long-term daily driver.
The Levante's fuel efficiency has also been criticized by some owners. Although the Levante is a high-performance luxury crossover, some owners have reported that it is quite thirsty, with an average fuel efficiency of around 18-20 mpg. This issue can be particularly concerning for those who plan to use their Levante for long trips or daily commuting.
Finally, it is worth noting that the Maserati brand has a reputation for lower reliability compared to other luxury brands. Consumer Reports predicts that the 2024 Levante will be less reliable than other new cars, based on Maserati's brand history. This prediction is based on data from Consumer Reports' questionnaire, which asks subscribers to note any problems with their cars that occurred in the past 12 months. Although the Levante has received generally positive reviews from owners, its lower reliability rating is worth considering for potential buyers.
In summary, the Maserati Levante is a high-performance luxury crossover that has been praised for its design and performance. However, some issues have been reported by owners, particularly with the 2017 model year. These issues include engine seizure, gearbox problems, interior quality, fuel efficiency, and brand reliability. Potential buyers should carefully consider these issues when deciding whether to purchase a Levante.

Love, love my car! It's such a great ride and I love everything about it!

This is a great looking SUV. I'm glad to hear that you bought it in champagne color, it sounds really fabulous! As with all new cars, there is a long learning curve without a lot of guidance from Maserati. It's great to hear that this car gets the number one spot in valet parking. It must be a true treat to look at and drive.

I have always been a big fan of BMW, but I must say that my Levante has exceeded all my expectations! This car is an absolute joy to drive and handles beautifully in all weather conditions, making it the perfect choice for any adventure. I have never had any issues with it and I constantly receive compliments on its stunning design. I must admit, I am completely in love with my Levante! :)

We have owned many SUVs from Audi to Mercedes, but this Maserati is by far the best looking and performing. The interior is beautiful and made of quality materials. The hand-stitched soft Italian leather cooling/heating seats with embroidered logo feel and perform amazing. The engine, manufactured by Ferrari, is powerful and responsive. The signature exhaust sound is music to your ears. As an audiophile, I love that Maserati has a B&O sound system that is better than any other upgraded sound we have had in the past. If you're interested, go test drive this beauty and see for yourself. We would definitely purchase another one once Maserati starts manufacturing everything in-house starting in 2022.

My wife recently traded in her Porsche Macan S for a base Levante with full leather. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the seats are the most comfortable we have ever sat in. In comparison, her previous BMW X-3 with M-Sport PKG had very narrow seats. The Levante's Sport feature is also awesome. I noticed that the steering and NAV are from the same supplier as my Dodge Charger. For those who complained about the lack of steering wheel controls, they can be found in the manual. The radio controls are also conveniently located on the back of the steering wheel for easy access to volume, mute, and changing stations. Additionally, the voice activation feature allows for easy control of the phone, radio, and climate control. While this is a limited production car, it is a unique and special addition to any lot, especially when surrounded by 25 BMWs. :-)

The paint on my car looked beautiful at first, but unfortunately, after driving it for only 5 months and 5,066 miles, I noticed over 30 chips in the paint. Additionally, I have experienced some issues with the stereo, front tires rubbing, and a rattling noise at 20 miles an hour. Despite these issues, the car has good acceleration once it gets going. However, at 70 miles an hour, I can feel the road through the steering wheel and gas pedal. The brakes squeak, but they do stop the car quickly. Although I have been told that I am the only person experiencing these issues, I am hopeful that they can be resolved. I was even presented with a solution to trade it in for a better Maserati, but unfortunately, I would lose $20,000 in the process. Overall, I would recommend this car with caution and suggest doing thorough research before making a purchase.

The car initially caught my eye, however, at around 60,000 miles, issues began to arise and ultimately led to a complete engine failure at approximately 80,000 miles. Despite the high cost of replacement, I made the decision to invest in a new engine for $38,000. Unfortunately, the vehicle's value has significantly decreased and it is now worth only $10,000 in scrap. Although I paid over $100,000 for the vehicle when it was new, I have come to realize that it was not a wise investment.
