- Summary: While driving home in the freeway, I felt my car shake then a sudden loss of power. Then my CEL started blinking and my VSC lit. Got a code for engine misfire(P0302). Is250 has a lot of cases on engine misfires because of excessive carbon build up because of how the engine is designed. My car only has 108,000miles. Lexus released a Customer Support Program for this problem but it already expired. They only gave 9 years from date of purchase for it to be eligible for the free fix. It means they are aware of the problem but my 2010 car just missed that window but I am having the same problem many IS250 owners have. It is really unsafe when you’re driving in the freeway then it suddenly loses power. Hopefully this problem gets resolved by Lexus soon.

- Summary: Front suspension does not have adjustable Camber. The wheels have a negative Camber that is outside of Lexus specification. This causes a very large uneven wear inside of tire, which is not noticeable from the exterior of car. Owners will be unaware, when checking the tires, that the inside of tire is worn to a point that can cause the tire to burst. Car was sent to the dealer, and they confirm that the negative camber is present and there is no fix because camber can't be adjusted. There is no warning lights or symptoms prior to failure. Vehicle suspension is not modified with non-Toyota approved equipment.

Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are "Zone A" Toyota: G0P, Lexus: GLG; "Zone B" Toyota: G0R, Lexus GLH; "Zone C" Toyota: H0A, and Lexus: HLA.

Toyota is also recalling certain 2010 Scion xB, Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Yaris, 4Runner, Lexus IS250, IS350, IS250C, IS350C, ES350, IS-F, GX460, and Pontiac Vibe vehicles sold, ever registered, in the states of AZ, AR, DE, DC, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MO, NE, NV, NJ, NM, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, VA, and WV or "Zone B." Toyota is also recalling certain 2009 Scion xB, Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Yaris, Lexus IS250, IS350, ES350, IS-F, and Pontiac Vibe vehicles ever registered in the states of AK, CO, CT, ID, IA, ME, MA, MI, MN, MT, NH, NY, ND, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WA, WI, and WY or "Zone C." These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify the Toyota, Scion and Lexus owners. General Motors will contact the Pontiac owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, or replace the air bag assembly. The recall began on January 29, 2018. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. The nuts that fasten the wiper arms may be insufficiently torqued such that if the wiper arms are restricted by an external load, such as a buildup of heavy snow, one or both of the wipers may become inoperative.
- Consequence: Inoperative wipers could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and Lexus dealers will install new wiper arm nuts, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

I used to own a 2005 Corvette with the Z51 package and I absolutely loved the torque it had. However, after three years, I felt like it was time for a change. I test drove a 2008 BMW M3 with the new 4.0, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with its performance. It didn't seem to be designed for people who enjoy torque. On the other hand, the Lexus has more torque and is much more fun to drive, especially when the 2nd intake opens up and you can hear it. It sounds amazing, even better than my Corvette ever did. The fit and finish of the Lexus are top-notch and the 8-speed Direct Shift automatic is a blast to drive. The brakes are Brembo's and are absolutely fantastic. The handling of the Lexus matches that of the Corvette, and according to Road and Track, it even beats the Corvette in a number of areas. How awesome is that!

This 4-door sports car is built very tightly and has an amazing engine sound over 4000 RPM. The engine performance is very strong at high RPM, and the gearbox is very smooth during normal driving. The car is fun to use, and the puddles are usable even in D. The 8 gear shifting is amazingly effective, and the car is extremely snappy in M. It drifts easily and naturally without special effort, even with VDIM on. The seats are very good, including the passenger seat, but the rear seats only accommodate 4 people. The ride is VERY tight, bordering on harsh, so it's not recommended for use on rough roads. The city fuel economy is 15 MPG, and the highway fuel economy is 20 MPG with a light foot. Overall, this car is a great choice for those who want a fun and exciting driving experience.

I have a Mercedes C32 AMG and CLK500 but the ISF is so good I can see myself selling off the Mercedes. The ride is a bit firm for rougher chip roads (which we have a lot of here in New Zealand) but the electronics are faultless, the bellow of the car great and it does all that I hoped it would do - I am a Lexus convert!

Pros: This car is incredibly fast and has excellent handling, making it very predictive and sure-footed. The build quality is excellent and the cabin is comfortable for a sports car. The car is also very quiet on smooth pavement and has extremely fast gear changes in manual mode. The brakes are powerful and the car is very well-equipped with useful options. Additionally, the fuel economy for a V8 is excellent. Cons: The steering can be a bit too firm at low speeds and the car is a bit heavy, making it less tossable than a smaller sports car. The Mark Levinson sound system is mediocre in quality and the ergonomics are not as intuitive as Acura/Honda. The automatic transmission can be a bit sluggish unless switched to manual mode. The cabin can also be loud on rough surfaces or when under wide-open throttle.

I was considering a 335 coupe, but after test driving the M3 and being disappointed, I consulted a friend for advice. My wife had also suggested looking at Lexuses, but I was hesitant as they are not known for being drivers' cars. However, after test driving the IS350 and then the IS-F, I was sold. The IS-F is a great car with impressive torque, engine sound, and a fast-shifting automatic transmission (in manual mode). The Mark Levinson stereo is also a standout feature, surpassing anything I've heard from Bose.

I test drove the new M3, C63, and IS-F after owning 2 M3s and 1 C55. I ultimately chose the IS-F because I've never owned a super sedan from Toyota before (plus, I had a modified Supra). The IS-F has the advantage of cheaper ownership costs, better reliability, and better fuel economy compared to the M3 and C63. However, the resale value is lower than the M3 (not the C63), even though the IS-F is an exclusive model. The M3 and C63 are more fun to drive, have better build quality, and better handling than the IS-F. It's worth noting that the IS-F doesn't have a manual transmission like the M3 (not the C63) and is slightly slower than the M3 and C63, but not by much.
