THERE ARE DENTS AND SCRATCHES FROM THE BUSHES, A TIRE SENSOR OR TWO IS NOT FUNCTIONAL ANYMORE, AND THE UNDERBODY WAS DAMAGED. - Summary: I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 32 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION AND GLASS SHATTERING. I PULLED OVER TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE. I NOTED NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE OUTSIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I GOT BACK IN MY VEHICLE TO INSPECT THE WINDOWS. I PULLED BACK THE VISOR TO MY SUNROOF AND THERE WAS GLASS EVERYWHERE WITH A BIG HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 6 recalls for different components of the 2009 Lexus Is f.

- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. Lexus' numbers for this recall are JLI, JLJ, and JLK.

- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 Lexus LS vehicles manufactured May 9, 2006, to July 20, 2010, 2006-2011 Lexus GS vehicles manufactured January 6, 2005, to September 10, 2010, and 2006-2011 Lexus IS vehicles manufactured August 30, 2005, to September 10, 2010. Due to anti-corrosion plating remnants, fuel may leak from where the fuel pressure sensor is attached to the fuel delivery pipe.
- Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will clean and reseal the fuel pressure sensor mounting area, free of charge. The recall began March 3, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.

- Summary: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 vehicles manufactured August 23, 2005, through October 5, 2011; 2010-2012 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles manufactured April 10, 2009, through October 6, 2011; and 2008-2011 Lexus IS-F vehicles manufactured December 14, 2007, through July 10, 2011. The nuts that fasten the wiper arms may be insufficiently torqued such that if the wiper arms are restricted by an external load, such as a buildup of heavy snow, one or both of the wipers may become inoperative.
- Consequence: Inoperative wipers could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and Lexus dealers will install new wiper arm nuts, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

Overall this car has met or exceeded my expectations. I have been loyal to Lexus having 2 GS 430s in last 6 years but wanted more performance type numbers and feel. Magically, the IS-F was born. It is very unLexus in its stiffness and ride but what I was expecting in a true performance sedan. It still has many of the nice Lexus features and luxury components. However, this is not your father's Lexus. I drove the M3 sedan after the Motor Trend article rating it better overall. I think some of their points are valid but feel their overall conclusion wrong. The M3 felt a little more clumsy in tight turns and I didn't like the long throws of the manual transmission. I have no regrets.

Yes, the ride is firm and it's true that its competitors have more pedigree, but the ISF is what the old BMW M cars used to be - discreet. This car is a wolf in sheep's clothing. The V8 is absolutely intoxicating, especially above 3500 rpms. The steering is good and the brakes are fantastic. The exhaust is louder than anything and the gearbox is loads of fun when you're really hammering it. My favorite thing about this car is that you get ballistic performance with the reliability of a Lexus. You really couldn't ask for much more.

I ordered my car from Northside Lexus in Houston back in 2007 and waited patiently for 13 months for delivery. Once I finally got behind the wheel, I was blown away by its speed and solid build. For the past 12 years, it has been my trusty weekend companion. I've only had one issue with the car during this time - the door panels and dash became sticky and discoloured. However, the amazing team at the dealership informed me that Lexus would replace them for free, even after 12 years! They took some pictures, ordered the new parts, and replaced them at no cost. I was absolutely amazed - what other car company would do that? Now, my car looks brand new again with only 19,000 miles on the clock, and I plan on keeping it for another 12 years. Thank you so much, Lexus!

I've been driving this car for three months now and I must say, I'm really impressed with its gas mileage. At 26mpg on the highway and 18mpg in the city, it's quite good for a car with over 400 horsepower. The ride comfort is also not bad, especially since I live in The Woodlands TX where the roads are pretty smooth. The power is amazing and it's a very good-looking car. If you're looking for a powerful and luxurious car, this is definitely the one for you!

I test drove the new M3, C63, and IS-F after owning 2 M3s and 1 C55. I ultimately chose the IS-F because I've never owned a super sedan from Toyota before (plus, I had a modified Supra). The IS-F has the advantage of cheaper ownership costs, better reliability, and better fuel economy compared to the M3 and C63. However, the resale value is lower than the M3 (not the C63), even though the IS-F is an exclusive model. The M3 and C63 are more fun to drive, have better build quality, and better handling than the IS-F. It's worth noting that the IS-F doesn't have a manual transmission like the M3 (not the C63) and is slightly slower than the M3 and C63, but not by much.
