I am concerned that inhalation or contact with this rubber material is a chemical hazard and/or carcinogenic. Also, the shiny sticky dash impedes my driving visibility with a constant glare. - Yes, Lexus offered a limited recall for 2-3 years only. I was never informed of the issue despite going to a Lexus dealership for another safety recall in 2017. - It has been inspected by Toyota but not Lexus. - The rubber began to noticeably degrade in 2019, however, it’s likely it began earlier. It has progressively worsened over time. The recall expired in 2018. I informed Lexus, who greedily stated that they could not help me despite them knowingly installing faulty, failing parts in the car, which may be carcinogenic, and as well as, negatively diminishes my visibility with a reflective glare. Plastic and rubber should not melt at normal temperatures and I have never encountered this issue with any car I’ve ever owned.

- Summary: The contact owned a 2008 Lexus IS350. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph, the steering wheel began to turn to the left independently and crashed into a parked vehicle. The contact’s vehicle rolled over and landed on its roof before stopping. None of the air bags deploy upon impact. A bystander assisted the contact to exit the vehicle by breaking the front passenger side window with his foot. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact sustained bruising on her face and body. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the insurance company lot and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was serviced for the air bags recall however, the dealer only replaced the passenger’s side air bag inflator and used masking tape for the engine hoses. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. Seat belt held the consumer upside down like a hammock. The black box did not say seat belt was in use. Prior to accident consumer was driving by construction site and heard loud screeching scraping under car. Car steering or linkage went out and car went to left. Consumer did not intentionally steer car left. Consumer was blamed for accident when car malfunctioned.

- Summary: The dash is melting and is extremely sticky. On sunny days, the sunlight reflects off of the dash and onto the windshield obstructing the driver's view. In addition, anything that gets on the dash sticks and cannot be removed. This debris also reflects on the windshield causing issues with visibility. I have contacted Lexus directly and have been told they will not repair or replace the dash because this was only a TSB and my car is now beyond the term for the TSB. This is something that should be a recall because it prevents the driver from being able to see what is happening in front of the vehicle and could cause an accident.

- Summary: Electrical Issues started at approximately 30,000 miles. Random times of power windows not rolling down or back up. Random times of Radio controls not working. After recall of airbags was completed, the Navigation system started having Random issues with the touchscreen. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it didn't. Eventually the touchscreen on the Navigation quit working at all. When the door panels were replaced, the windows started working more consistently. The Air Conditioner stopped working one day. The next day after driving it back into the driveway, over the driveway bump, it started working. The entire electrical system seems like there are wires that make a connection, then maybe come loose just barely enough to no longer make a connection. And just a mechanic's hand brushing against something during a normal maintenance check up fixes it temporarily. Or hitting a bump in the road. Every issue is ELECTRICAL related. There are many other IS250 owners with the same issues all over public forums online. Many too that their Navigation no longer worked after few miles on the car. Could these electrical issues cause a fire? How do we know it can't? It's always a worry when I drive my car.

- Summary: The wiring harness for the front passenger airbag was recalled by lexus because it is too short and frequently becomes disconnected which disables the front passenger airbag and cause the air bag light to turn on on the instrument panel. Lexus sent a letter informing me of the recall, but it was sent to my parents house and I did not receive it in time. After finding the recall letter, the pandemic also prevented me from making it to the dealership in time. The letter they sent me also had no markings to indicate it was a recall or that the information inside was important in any way so the letter was easily ignored. I spoke with a lexus dealership and lexus corporate and they both refused to perform the safety repair because I was about 2 to 3 months past their deadline (June 2020?). As a result, my front passenger air bag is inoperable and any front riding passenger in my vehicle is at a greatly increased safety risk in the event of a serious crash. Lexus admitted the problem with their wiring harness and instituted a recall, so I don't think it is fair for them to potentially sacrifice the lives and the safety of my front riding passengers because of a superficial deadline. I would appreciate any help you could provide in convincing lexus to honor their safety recall for my vehicle. Thank you.

These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. - Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. - Summary: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 vehicles manufactured August 23, 2005, through October 5, 2011; 2010-2012 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles manufactured April 10, 2009, through October 6, 2011; and 2008-2011 Lexus IS-F vehicles manufactured December 14, 2007, through July 10, 2011. The nuts that fasten the wiper arms may be insufficiently torqued such that if the wiper arms are restricted by an external load, such as a buildup of heavy snow, one or both of the wipers may become inoperative.
- Consequence: Inoperative wipers could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and Lexus dealers will install new wiper arm nuts, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

Overall this car has met or exceeded my expectations. I have been loyal to Lexus having 2 GS 430s in last 6 years but wanted more performance type numbers and feel. Magically, the IS-F was born. It is very unLexus in its stiffness and ride but what I was expecting in a true performance sedan. It still has many of the nice Lexus features and luxury components. However, this is not your father's Lexus. I drove the M3 sedan after the Motor Trend article rating it better overall. I think some of their points are valid but feel their overall conclusion wrong. The M3 felt a little more clumsy in tight turns and I didn't like the long throws of the manual transmission. I have no regrets.

I was considering a 335 coupe, but after test driving the M3 and being disappointed, I consulted a friend for advice. My wife had also suggested looking at Lexuses, but I was hesitant as they are not known for being drivers' cars. However, after test driving the IS350 and then the IS-F, I was sold. The IS-F is a great car with impressive torque, engine sound, and a fast-shifting automatic transmission (in manual mode). The Mark Levinson stereo is also a standout feature, surpassing anything I've heard from Bose.

I'm writing this review after 2 months of owning it. I was considering the M3 and this, but after reviewing reliability histories and the true price difference AFTER options, I decided to take a gamble on Lexus's new fastest car. This car strikes the perfect balance between a race car and daily driver, it is noticeable but not too flashy, and can be either boring or crazy fun, depending on your mood. To sum it up, I have very little regret over this purchase and unless it's a Bentley, Lambo, or Ferrari next to me on the road, I never feel outdone.

I've been driving this car for three months now and I must say, I'm really impressed with its gas mileage. At 26mpg on the highway and 18mpg in the city, it's quite good for a car with over 400 horsepower. The ride comfort is also not bad, especially since I live in The Woodlands TX where the roads are pretty smooth. The power is amazing and it's a really fast car, not to mention it looks great too. If you're in the market for a powerful and luxurious car, this is definitely the one for you!

This 4-door sports car is built very tightly and has an amazing engine sound over 4000 RPM. The engine performance is very strong at high RPM, and the gearbox is very smooth during normal driving. The car is fun to use, and the puddles are usable even in D. The 8 gear shifting is amazingly effective, and the car is extremely snappy in M. It drifts easily and naturally without special effort, even with VDIM on. The seats are very good, including the passenger seat, but the rear seats only accommodate 4 people. The ride is VERY tight, bordering on harsh, so it's not recommended for use on rough roads. The city fuel economy is 15 MPG, and the highway fuel economy is 20 MPG with a light foot. Overall, this car is a great choice for those who want a fun and exciting driving experience.

I test drove the new M3, C63, and IS-F after owning 2 M3s and 1 C55. I ultimately chose the IS-F because I've never owned a super sedan from Toyota before (plus, I had a modified Supra). The IS-F has the advantage of cheaper ownership costs, better reliability, and better fuel economy compared to the M3 and C63. However, the resale value is lower than the M3 (not the C63), even though the IS-F is an exclusive model. The M3 and C63 are more fun to drive, have better build quality, and better handling than the IS-F. It's worth noting that the IS-F doesn't have a manual transmission like the M3 (not the C63) and is slightly slower than the M3 and C63, but not by much.
