Common 2014 Lexus Is f problems
Based on the information provided in the sources, here is a list of common problems reported by owners of the 2014 Lexus IS-F:
- Vacuum Leak: A vacuum leak in the Lexus IS-F can cause high RPM in idle or random surges. Over time, vacuum hoses can dry out and crack, especially when exposed to extreme temperatures, affecting emissions and engine performance.
- Loose or Faulty Gas Cap: A loose, damaged, or missing gas cap can trigger the check engine light in the 2014 Lexus IS-F. This can lead to fuel evaporation, more frequent trips to the pump, and increased expenses. Replacing a faulty gas cap is a simple and cost-effective solution.
- O2 Sensor Replacement: The Oxygen Sensor (O2 sensor) measures oxygen levels in the exhaust system. A faulty O2 sensor can impact fuel economy, damage the catalytic converter, and affect spark plug performance. It can also cause a vehicle to fail emissions tests.
- Battery Issues: Low or dead batteries can prevent the car from starting and impact various functions like lighting, radio, and charging devices. While modern car batteries are more durable, they can still experience issues that affect the vehicle's overall performance.
- Catalytic Converter Problems: A bad or failing catalytic converter can impact emissions control by not converting carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide effectively. This component is crucial for reducing harmful emissions from the vehicle.
- Steering Issues: The Lexus IS-F can experience steering problems, such as stiffness, making it challenging to control the vehicle. This issue can manifest gradually and needs to be addressed promptly for safety reasons.
- Brake Problems: The Lexus IS-F may encounter brake issues, including grinding and vibration during braking, which can affect the steering wheel. This can be a safety concern and should be inspected and repaired to ensure safe driving.
These common problems reported by owners of the 2014 Lexus IS-F highlight the importance of regular maintenance and prompt attention to any warning signs to ensure the vehicle's reliability and performance.

The ISF replaced my 09 IS350 which replaced my 06 IS350. I have only had my F car for about two weeks, but I can confidently say that it is a great vehicle. The power, handling, and looks are all top-notch, and Toyota's reliability is a huge plus. I do not agree with the negative media coverage of Toyotas, as I have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Despite reported shortcomings of the F, I find the ride to be perfectly suitable for a sports sedan, and the lack of a u-shift it tranny does not concern me. These cars provide a wickedly quick ride, incredible handling, and a sleek design. Overall, the ISF is a fantastic car that can compete with the likes of an M3.

I have a Mercedes C32 AMG and CLK500 but the ISF is so good I can see myself selling off the Mercedes. The ride is a bit firm for rougher chip roads (which we have a lot of here in New Zealand) but the electronics are faultless, the bellow of the car great and it does all that I hoped it would do - I am a Lexus convert!

I'm writing this review after 2 months of owning it. I was deciding between the M3 and this, but after reviewing reliability histories and the true price difference AFTER options, I decided to take a gamble on Lexus's new fastest car. This car strikes the perfect balance between a race car and daily driver, it is noticeable but not too flashy, and can be either boring or crazy fun, depending on your mood. To sum it up, I have very little regret over this purchase and unless it's a Bentley, Lambo, or Ferrari next to me on the road, I never feel outdone.

This 4-door sports car is built very tightly and has an amazing engine sound over 4000 RPM. The engine performance is very strong at high RPM, and the gearbox is very smooth during normal driving. The car is fun to use, and the puddles are usable even in D. The 8 gear shifting is amazingly effective, and the car is extremely snappy in M. It drifts easily and naturally without special effort, even with VDIM on. The seats are very good, including the passenger seat, but the rear seats only accommodate 4 people. The ride is VERY tight, bordering on harsh, so it's not recommended for use on rough roads. The city fuel economy is 15 MPG, and the highway fuel economy is 20 MPG with a light foot. Overall, this car is a great choice for those who want a fun and exciting driving experience.

The 2008 Lexus IS-F is an exceptional vehicle that has exceeded all expectations. It performs exceptionally well, coming in second only to the Mercedes C63 on a straightaway and the BMW M3 on a full track. It even outperforms the Audi RS4 on both straightaways and full tracks. In addition to its impressive performance, it boasts the best gas consumption rating and does not have a gas guzzler tax. Most importantly, it is the most reliable and has the highest build quality out of all its competitors. As a proud owner of a Starfire Pearl IS-F in Houston, TX, I can confidently say that I am a 100% satisfied customer. :)

I test drove the new M3, C63, and IS-F after owning 2 M3s and 1 C55. I ultimately chose the IS-F because I've never owned a super sedan from Toyota before (plus, I had a modified Supra). The IS-F has the advantage of cheaper ownership costs, better reliability, and better fuel economy compared to the M3 and C63. However, the resale value is lower than the M3 (not the C63), even though the IS-F is an exclusive model. The M3 and C63 are more fun to drive, have better build quality, and better handling than the IS-F. It's worth noting that the IS-F doesn't have a manual transmission like the M3 (not the C63) and is slightly slower than the M3 and C63, but not by much.
