2019 Land rover Discovery sport problems
The Land Rover Discovery Sport (internal code L550) is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by British automotive company Jaguar Land Rover since 2014, under their Land Rover marque, and since 2017 their best-selling model.
Introduced in late 2014, it replaces the Freelander in a revised Land Rover range of vehicles, with Discovery joining Range Rover as a sub-brand. Contrary to its predecessor, the slightly larger car is also available in a seven seat layout.
The pre-facelift Discovery Sport is based on the JLR D8/LR-MS platform, customised for off-road applications, and is powered by a range of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It is the first Discovery introduced with a unibody structure.
Land Rover described the facelifted Discovery Sport as being based on the JLR PTA platform, a rebrand of the D8. It is also used by the Jaguar E-Pace and L551 version of Range Rover Evoque.

This Land Rover is a beautiful car offered at a fair price. It's a lot of car in a very small footprint, which is great! The interior and finishes are fantastic, and the glass roof is awesome. The back seat is comfortable and spacious, and the seats recline which is a nice touch. The gas mileage is great, and it totally depends on how you drive. The greatest feature is the ECO mode which will automatically reduce all systems to lower gas and electricity usage. It's very nice to just turn on and not think about it. The car is surprisingly quick with the turbo. If you want full performance, AC, etc turn off the ECO mode - which I do when I want best acceleration, etc. There have been some minor issues with the Auto start/stop gas saving feature and with some random electrical/computer stuff but all is under warranty. The transmission sometimes can be less smooth than others but it's negligible. All things considered, my family loves this car!

The Land Rover Discovery Sport is truly unique. It's environmentally friendly, fast, powerful, elegant, and yet relatively simple. What I love most about it is how comfortable it is. There's plenty of room for the driver and family, with the back seat comfortably seating three and ample cargo space for our basic needs. Additionally, this car comes equipped with all-wheel drive and surprising 4x4 options - there are several settings when in 4-wheel drive. It's truly remarkable!

The car has a great body style in brion blue with black package and a cream interior, making it a beautiful car. Although some have complained about the shifting, I found out that there is an update to the computer module that makes the shift much better. It's important to maintain the oil, not recommended by LR at every 15k, but sooner change around every 6k due to turbo reliability. By maintaining your car, you can ensure its reliability. I love that the car can fit 7 people with the 3rd row. Overall, it's a great car that can be made even better with proper maintenance.

With my lease ending, I was considering turning in my Disco and buying a Macan S. However, after test driving a few, I realized that it may not be worth the money. I expected the S to have a noticeable power advantage, but unfortunately, it just wasn't there. The Disco has been a reliable car for me, and the dynamic 286hp version is just as enjoyable to drive as the Macan.

The Land Rover SUV has a stylish design that is sure to catch your eye. The sculpted round body and round tail lights, along with the black design package that includes 18-inch gloss black wheels and gloss black badging front and rear, make for an impressive sight. The Discovery Sport is also packed with technology, including automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, headlights, and keyless entry, which make operating the vehicle a breeze. Additionally, there are settings for ECO mode, which lowers energy use but may result in slower responsiveness, and Auto-shut off when stopped. This SE model comes with the upgraded Convenience Package, which includes a gesture tailgate, passive entry, Homelink, and auto-dimming interior mirror ($1,100), as well as Incontrol touch navigation ($800). The MSRP for this vehicle was $37,695.

After owning the fan for 4 months, the noise has become very loud. Despite going to the dealer, they have said that it is normal. Considering trading it in.

This 4 cylinder car has been disappointing in terms of fuel efficiency, as it consumes gas at a rate similar to an 8 cylinder car. Despite being told that it would get 20-25 miles per gallon, I am only getting 12-14 miles per gallon while driving locally in the city and working from home. I have been attempting to return the car due to being misled by the salesman and manager of Land Rover Southbay, but have not made any progress with the dealership or manufacturer. Additionally, the air conditioner in the car is inadequate, with insufficient vents causing discomfort for passengers in the back seat. The cup holders are also too small and tight, making it difficult to remove cups without spilling. The car seats are stiff and not as comfortable as those in other cars I have leased. The voice command feature in the car is also unreliable. Despite these issues, I remain confident in my ability to find a better car that meets my needs and preferences.

This Land Rover seems to be experiencing some issues. We've noticed some problems with the trim and seals, even though we've only driven 5,000 miles. As first-time buyers, we're feeling quite disappointed, but we're hoping to sell it soon and move on. We'll definitely be more careful with our next purchase.

We purchased our 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE brand new in 2018, and have since driven it for 5 years, reaching the impressive milestone of 100k miles. It has been an absolute pleasure to drive and my wife is particularly fond of it. While the 2 liter turbo charged engine provides a peppy performance, we have found that the maintenance costs can be quite high. Unfortunately, we have had to take it in for maintenance every 10k miles, which can cost upwards of $1000. Recently, we had to pay $200 just to have a code checked for a Service Engine light, which revealed that the timing chain needs to be replaced, a repair that will cost over $3000. Although the 4 year 50k warranty has expired, we are still grateful for the 100k miles we were able to get out of it. We were surprised to learn that the timing chain should last the life of the engine, which is apparently 100k miles.
