2016 Land rover Discovery sport problems
The Land Rover Discovery Sport (internal code L550) is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by British automotive company Jaguar Land Rover since 2014, under their Land Rover marque, and since 2017 their best-selling model.
Introduced in late 2014, it replaces the Freelander in a revised Land Rover range of vehicles, with Discovery joining Range Rover as a sub-brand. Contrary to its predecessor, the slightly larger car is also available in a seven seat layout.
The pre-facelift Discovery Sport is based on the JLR D8/LR-MS platform, customised for off-road applications, and is powered by a range of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It is the first Discovery introduced with a unibody structure.
Land Rover described the facelifted Discovery Sport as being based on the JLR PTA platform, a rebrand of the D8. It is also used by the Jaguar E-Pace and L551 version of Range Rover Evoque.

I've had this car for 5 years now and it's been a great ride! It's a Liz model and I've driven it all the way from the 5K mark to almost 100K miles. Apart from a minor gear box issue, which was easy to repair, this car has been a breeze and still looks fantastic. Even with my dogs and a 7-year-old, the leather still looks great. While the tech in Land Rover could use some improvement, I still love this car's size and style. I've even taken it on soft sand and beaches without any issues! Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase.

I hope this message finds you well! I just wanted to share my experience with the vehicle I've been leasing for the past 8000 miles. I must say, everything has been absolutely fabulous! The drive is smooth and luxurious, making every journey a true pleasure.

I bought the car used and encountered some small issues, such as the doors not locking due to a faulty hood sensor and the check engine light always being on. However, the dealership was extremely helpful in resolving these issues and getting me back on the road. During a trip to a destination with an unbalanced road, the car felt like it was driving on a smooth road. The gas mileage is amazing and the car handles well on the road with fast acceleration. Although this model does not have Google Auto and the navigation system is difficult to update, I use my phone as a navigation tool in remote areas. Overall, I would highly recommend this car and would consider buying a newer model in the future.

We've owned our Disco Sport for two years and we absolutely love it! The 360-degree cameras are a game-changer, especially when navigating tight parking spots. We're also huge fans of its capability on ice and snow. We've driven it through two blinding blizzards where all the other vehicles abandoned the road, but we kept right on with no issues. Not only is the traction-control superb, but it has amazingly wide fog lights that allow you to see the edge of the road so you don't drive into the ditch. We've only had two minor complaints: the suspension doesn't give you a feeling of being connected to the road, so you get a little bit of a

I purchased a 2016 SE from a dealer with 19K miles 2 years ago. My fiancé had a Toyota RAV which was traded in for a great deal on the DS. The car is silver with black interior and looks like new. I immediately took it to the JLR dealer to have software updates done for PCM, infotainment and recall check even though everything was working fine. I have driven about 30K miles in all sorts of weather, including long trips. This vehicle is superb with linear acceleration, sure-footed feel and a comfortable ride. Heavy snow means nothing when the mode is selected - I don't even have to plow the driveway. Torrential rain with high winds - same thing as I feel totally confident. I have experienced none of the complaints some other reviewers wrote regarding squeaks, performance and electronic glitches - everything has been perfect. I replaced the brakes and tires at 45K and maintain it per JLR schedule. The only weakness in the SE trim are the headlights, which are not HID, but a set of Hella bulbs took care of that peeve. This is a versatile vehicle which always stands out from other small SUVs and I will buy another LandRover when the time comes.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport. I've had a few issues with it, such as needing to replace the radiator hoses at 30,000 miles and currently experiencing some trouble starting the car after filling up with fuel. I've had the DMTL pump and gas cap replaced, but unfortunately the check engine light keeps coming back on. It's been a bit frustrating, but I'm hopeful we can get it sorted out soon!

I traded my Land Rover in for a Mazda CX-5. Although it may seem like an unfair trade, I actually got more car for less money. The CX-5 GT has more features than the Discovery Sport Se and its handling is far superior to the Land Rover. It's been almost a year now and I haven't regretted my decision for a second. While the Discovery Sport may not have been the right fit for me, I'm sure it has its own strengths and appeal to others.

I bought my first LR Discovery in 2020 with 30,810 miles. As a disabled driver, I mainly drive locally and have never driven the car beyond 126 miles to Myrtle Beach, SC. Unfortunately, while driving back from a medical appointment 120 miles from my home, the car powered off with the low battery warning light as the only indicator, causing a loss of acceleration. The car was towed to a local repair shop recommended by roadside assistance. I was surprised to hear from the technician that the engine had locked, despite there being no issues with oil, oil leak, engine or anything else! I have made several calls and done research to identify recalls or similar issues, but unfortunately, several local Jaguar/Range Rover dealerships have been unable to assist or address the matter. As a cash purchaser of a 38k car, I feel let down. In conclusion, I would advise caution when considering a Land Rover Discovery purchase.

If you're in the market for an SUV, I would recommend exploring other options. While my car has only been driven for 30,000 miles, I have had to replace the brakes twice and the ride quality is subpar. Additionally, the rear hatch inside panel has a tendency to fall off. Overall, I believe there are better SUVs available on the market.
