  • Summary: Incident: Was pulling up to a gated entrance waiting on Gate to open, then as I pressed the gas to go, the engine shut off and lights appeared on dash in yellow- the Auto Shut off with an Exclamation point, Check engine light, traction control light, and the throttle control light was in red. The car was then cranked back up and pulled into parking space but did not move as it should it was slow. Turned car off again and this time it was very slow to crank. Once it was cranked, the car had a noticeable shake to the vehicle. Prior to incident, no issues or lights were on the dash. Car was tested by local mechanic and had the following codes appear on diagnostic test: P1414 Cylinder 4 Reactivation Control Performance, P032F Combustion Engine Producing Insufficient Torque; P2172 High Airflow/Vacuum Leak Detected This happened one previous time pulling away from a stop light several months ago (again at a slow speed-car shut off and auto shut off light appeared). Did not report or document as I was able to get car cranked back up immediately and continue driving with no issues at that time.

  • Summary: On [XXX] I was backing up trying to hook up a Uhaul trailer when suddenly my car completely lost its brakes and crashed into the trailer. The brake pedal became completely loose. Luckily for me this happened on my home driveway, because the next day I would be making a 1000 mile trip (Pennsylvania to Panama City Beach) pulling the trailer and if this had happened somewhere along the way, I probably wouldn't be alive right now or someone else could have died. My car had to be dragged onto the tow truck, because after my car crashed behind the trailer, the car got stuck and nothing else worked. Since then, my car has been parked at Hillview Motors (Greensburg/PA), awaiting a solution from Stelantis/Jeep. Today (XXX), Stelantis sent an investigator (third party contract) to inspect my car and they will image the Event Data Record using the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval. Since this is an event that I consider very serious, I am writing this report so that NHTSA can take some action so that this problem does not happen to anyone again. After it is fixed, I intend to sell my car because I no longer trust it and I will not be able to drive it with my family inside it. It was a recall then they said I already had that looked at when I brought it in last year for recalls and so this time I would have to pay 1400 for the motor and I was told by the mechanic the electric issues would continue to arise now and to get rid of this car

  • Summary: There is a major design issue with the front end of this truck. There is a problem with the front end that causes major outside tire wear. I had put about 7000 miles on the truck since I had it. The truck came with brand new tires and I had the steel belt showing and only noticed this when I washed the truck my self. I brought it to the dealership to get it looked at but they said they can’t find any reason for this. If you look at a lot of on-line forums you can see this is a major problem I’m not sure if it is the auto adjusting air ride suspension or just an issue with the front drive axel. The tires would have blown out when driving with my family if I didn’t notice this when I did.

  • Summary: While driving my vehicle down a highway today several warning lights suddenly came on including ABS, traction control, air suspension. I attempted to slow down to exit the highway and the brakes didn’t work. The brake pedal was just sinking to the floor and doing absolutely nothing to slow the vehicle down. I started approaching a light with cars stopped but luckily the turn lane was open and I was able to get off the highway and coast into a parking lot. I had to throw the car in park to get it to stop. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership I had just gotten it back from the day prior after having transmission work done. This car is a death trap, extremely dangerous, and needs to be investigated. I had been driving the car most of the day without issue. There was no warning just a sudden loss of braking ability.

  • Summary: Concerns: Electrical is slow to respond the screen. The turn knob is a HUGE safety concern. The turn know sometime doesn’t not click or stay in park. The vehicle will lunge. The knob is easy hot accidentally hit and move out of the gear causing the auto brake to jerk the car to a stop. The getting the brake release to get car back in gear is slow to unlock. Sometimes I have to turn the car completely off. Turn it back on then do the break release and start all over. The auto break has actually stopped in the middle of the road for no reason and I’m lucky. I just didn’t get hit from behind and I had nothing to do with the turn knob. The auto stop is very sensitive. I turn it off almost 100% of the time like when you’re at a stop sign because when it comes back on, it’ll jerk the car. I’m just very disappointed in the Wagoneer as a customer. I’ll look forward to the day that I can replace this car.

  • Summary: This has happened on my vehicle twice, the first time I was stopping at a stop sign and the car gave a message about putting car in park and restarting, it put itself into park before I saw the message and so when I went to accelerate it just revved the engine. I had to push the on/off button to restart vehicle and it went. Same thing happened again about a month later (last week) this time I was pulling into our school’s drive to drop off kids but before I got to the drop off area it dinged, giving a message to put car in park and restart since I was getting ready to stop I was going to wait but almost as soon as I looked back up from reading the screen it slammed into park and same thing I had to push my on/off button to restart and go again. I was actually moving this time so we came to an abrupt stop with my children in the car. The service department said they couldn’t replicate and to come get the vehicle, I feel this is a huge safety concern for our family. What if it does this at highway speeds, I think someone will be greatly injured from this. We have a ticket open with Jeep but so far nothing.

The messaging system indicated brake service needed. The failure caused the entire braking system to "shut down" and a complete loss of braking ability. The brake system consistently went from no brakes to complete brake lock up. A later diagnostic via the OBD system indicated a communication failure between ECU/computer systems. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that a software update was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Hollywood Chrysler Jeep (2100 N State Rd. 7, Hollywood, FL 33021); where it was diagnosed and determined that the infotainment screen needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted and served with lemon law documents, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

  • Summary: Driving on freeway and needed to come to urgent stop. The vehicle did come to a stop and no collision occurred. However, after stopping, the vehicle then would not move. The car was on and was unable to be turned off. Multiple error messages appeared and the gears were flashing. At risk due to being at a full stop on the freeway with traffic still moving at posted speeds, and unable to move vehicle. Police and courtesy vehicle arrived a short time later to prevent a rear end collision and stayed until a tow truck arrived and could tow vehicle to local dealership. Vehicle is at the dealership and has not yet been inspected to understand the issue. There were no previous lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the problem to indicate there may be an issue with the vehicle. A year ago, the vehicle had another issue where it engaged the parking brake on it's own. Was not in danger during this incident.

  • Summary: Hi - I was driving on the highway and battery light turned on and then power steering failure light & brake failure light turns on and I pulled over going 60 mph across 3 lanes of traffic and then as soon as I got to side of road the car turned off and auto shifted into park. I don’t even know how I avoided what could’ve been a deadly accident. I was so lucky it didn’t shut off with people behind me going 70 mph. I wasn’t even braking to get to the side of the road, it just shut off completely. It wouldn’t turn on and couldn’t even use emergency flashers. I sat on the side of the road for 2 hrs for a flat bed tow truck who had to charge the vehicle to get it on. The dealership said they couldn’t find any codes for what went wrong. After spending so much money on this vehicle, I feel 100% unsafe for myself, my passengers, and others on the road. I really don’t think this is right - what will it take for someone to recall these vehicles and make sure they are safe? In all my years, I have never experienced a scarier moment. How will I know this will not happen again and potentially harm or cause death to myself or other passengers on the road? Imagine a semi truck right behind you and the car just coming to a complete stop? Dealership has no idea what caused it because they said no codes occurred.

  • Summary: on March 23, 2024, the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 3 turned off while at a stop light. We were at a red light and completely stopped and the engine turned off on us. We had the vehicle in for a routine oil change, and afterwards the vehicle battery died 3 times before the dealership replaced the battery. We are unsure if the dead battery is related to the engine turning off on the March 23 incident. I am unsure if there were any warning. We are also getting a error message that says "Uconnect Box requires service. Please visit an authorized dealer." The dealership tries to tell us that the software is up to date. We have issues with our CarPlay always connecting to the vehicle when it should every single time.

  • Summary: Message to Jeep and dealership below. purchased my Wagoneer S3 on [XXX] brand new. [XXX] I was driving to work when my motor cut off and lost brakes while driving down the interstate, I had 1,698 miles on the vehicle. This resulted in a crash that surprisingly did not total the vehicle. My insurance towed it to Platinum collision in Midland, TX in which they were not able to find any codes but put the vehicle back together. My vehicle was not returned to me until August 22nd due to parts availability. On [XXX], with 2,416 miles on my Wagoneer I had the same problem; my motor died and I lost brakes. Thankfully this time I was on a lease road and was able to avoid a collision. I promptly called Platinum Collision back and they towed the vehicle back for inspection. They were not able to read any codes this time either, thankfully I have a picture of the dashboard and there was visible brake fluid found under the fender well. Platinum took the vehicle to the jeep dealership in Midland, TX (All American) in which I was told that a piece of the front end needed to be replaced and that there was an electrical connection that was shorting out the system. They replaced it and returned it to me. Fortunately I made it a long way in believing that the issue was fixed and I would be able to safely enjoy my SUV. Unfortunately, [XXX] with 28,898 miles my Wagon has again had motor and brake failure. On this occasion I had it towed to All American Jeep in Midland, TX in which they told me that they couldn’t find anything other than the battery being slightly low, and that they put the battery on the charger for me and I shouldn’t have any other issues. I have attached pictures and videos to this email for your review. I want to stress that this issue has caused one accident already. I do not feel safe without a guarantee that this issue has been addressed and fixed.   • Summary: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Chrysler Voyager, 2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
  • Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

  • Consequence: An unfastened seat belt may increase the risk of injury to occupants during a crash.

The Central Vision Park Assist module (CVPAM) software may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse.   • Consequence: A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility of the rear view, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

  • Summary: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The upper B-pillar interior trim may not be fully seated and could interfere with the side curtain air bag (SABIC) deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
  • Consequence: A compromised deployment of the SABIC can reduce occupant protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

    I received the vehicle brand new, but unfortunately, it had some major issues such as a scratched passenger window and three exterior trim moldings that were warped. Five months later, when temperatures dropped to negative 15, I had to take it to the dealer due to a frozen radiator and overflow compartment. It was a major inconvenience caused by the factory and the Webber Family Ford dealership in Detroit Lakes Minnesota for not prepping the vehicle before delivery. Although I have a factory warranty to cover these issues, I am disappointed that they cannot do anything to help me. As a result, I am hesitant to take my new Wagoneer out of town, and I am unsure what will happen next with the cooling system. Overall, I am disappointed with the factory and dealership for not inspecting the vehicle before delivery.

    The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II has had some issues that need to be addressed. Despite multiple dealership visits, the problems have not been resolved. The vehicle has been in and out of service over 20 times in the past year. While some issues such as the radio have not been fixed, there are more serious issues such as the power steering going out while driving. It is important that these issues are taken seriously and addressed promptly. Jeep should take responsibility and recall the vehicle to ensure the safety of its customers. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues before considering purchasing a Grand Wagoneer.

    As a long-time Jeep customer, I was excited to trade in my Wagoneer. Unfortunately, my experience with the vehicle was not what I had hoped for. The build quality was subpar, with incorrectly installed parts, falling trim, misaligned doors, peeling clear coat, and electronic issues. Ultimately, I had to trade it in at a significant loss and opt for a Kia Carnival, which cost $26k less and has much better build quality. It's important to note that not all dealers are certified Wagoneer dealers and may not follow the promised standards. Despite my disappointment, I remain a loyal Jeep customer and hope for better experiences in the future.

    Our 2022 Wagoneer II had some initial problems that persisted for about a year, including electrical issues, warning lights, and occasional failure to start. Despite having it at the dealership three times, the issue persisted. However, during the third visit, the dealership discovered that the main wiring harness had bent pins and was not connected properly. They replaced the main wiring harness after removing the front seats and console. Since that repair was carried out five months ago, we have not experienced any issues. We are thrilled with our Wagoneer and believe that this fix has resolved all of the problems. While there have been some reviews mentioning electrical issues with this SUV, we believe that the major wiring harness issue is the root cause.

When I called about being locked out of my vehicle due to app malfunctions, the customer service reps were offensive and unhelpful.     I purchased my 2022 Wagoneer Series II in December 2021 and have had no issues. As a fellow Jeep enthusiast, I am thrilled with what they have accomplished with this new full-size SUV. It's perfect for both short city trips and long-distance hauls, and it's incredibly nimble and easy to park. The only downside is the manual side mirrors, which I think should be upgraded to power closing mirrors as a standard feature for a vehicle of this size.

    I got my Series 2 Wagoneer in July 2022, it's silver with the 'salt' interior, also known as Taupe. It's a really pretty car and everyone compliments the interior. It was hard to find that seat color, but it's much nicer than black. After driving every trim level, including the Grand, I decided to economize a bit with this Series 2. It had all that I needed and was a dealer lease special, which was a great deal. I would have liked a front camera, rear heated seats, power running boards, and power folding side mirrors, but overall, I've been very happy with the vehicle. I haven't had any problems with it, and it rides beautifully with decent acceleration. There's plenty of space for dogs and 'stuff', and it drives like a smaller vehicle despite its size. Compared to my 2016 Navigator, which I referred to as a 'flying brick', the Wagoneer is practically nimble. I have no regrets with my choice, and I suggest to anyone that they drive the different trim levels and decide what's really important. There is not a huge difference in ride characteristics between the levels, even with the Grand. I'm sad to hear some folks having reliability problems, but it's not unheard of with first-year cars, and Chrysler/Jeep can be hit or miss. It happens, and I know because I bought a Fiat 500L, which took a while to get all the bugs out of.

    I have a 2022 and I love it with one exception. Unfortunately, my car alarm goes off when the car is unlocked and the keys are in it. This has caused some concern for my kids, who are afraid to get anything out of the car because it might go off randomly in our driveway or garage. I kindly request that this issue be addressed as soon as possible. It would be greatly appreciated if the alarm could be adjusted so that it does not go off on an unlocked car.
