The Jeep Wagoneer is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) nameplate of Jeep vehicles, with several models marketed for the 1963 through 1993 model years and again since the 2022 model year.
Various versions of the Wagoneer were manufactured in the US and other nations by Kaiser Motors (1962−1971), by American Motors (1971−1987), by Chrysler (1987−1993), and Stellantis from 2021.
A revival of the Jeep Wagoneer was introduced as a concept version on September 3, 2020, and as the production model on March 11, 2021. Sales begin in the second half of 2021 with 2022 model year versions.

Vehicle lost engine power and showed the error message on gauge cluster “shift into p”. Accelerator would not work till stopped vehicle in the middle of the road and shifted to park and back to drive gear.

Additional warnings for other components (e.g. lane assist, brakes, battery power saver etc.) displayed, stopped at an intersection, applied acceleration and vehicle shut off, put itself into park, became disabled and would not restart. No power to restart or to power road hazard flashers. Complete shutdown of vehicle. Vehicle neutral override was finally discovered to get it moved to a safe location off the roadway and prior to having it towed to dealership for further investigation into cause.

- Summary: Incident: Was pulling up to a gated entrance waiting on Gate to open, then as I pressed the gas to go, the engine shut off and lights appeared on dash in yellow- the Auto Shut off with an Exclamation point, Check engine light, traction control light, and the throttle control light was in red. The car was then cranked back up and pulled into parking space but did not move as it should it was slow. Turned car off again and this time it was very slow to crank. Once it was cranked, the car had a noticeable shake to the vehicle. Prior to incident, no issues or lights were on the dash. Car was tested by local mechanic and had the following codes appear on diagnostic test: P1414 Cylinder 4 Reactivation Control Performance, P032F Combustion Engine Producing Insufficient Torque; P2172 High Airflow/Vacuum Leak Detected This happened one previous time pulling away from a stop light several months ago (again at a slow speed-car shut off and auto shut off light appeared). Did not report or document as I was able to get car cranked back up immediately and continue driving with no issues at that time.

- Summary: I bought this vehicle used form Carmax, <12000 miles. Drove about 12 miles, when while parking I noticed the car stopped and asked to start engine and engage gear again. Didn't think much of it. Then started driving again and the check engine light turned on. There are lots of reports of wagoneers with engine light problems (in fact we had test driven a different one with both check engine and transmission lights on which for obvious reasons didn't buy). I reported to Carmax. Finished my drive and stayed idle for a while trying to see if there were any settings that may be responsible, but the engine was stuttering, almost shutting off, with the entire thing, even the driving lights shutting off intermittently. The following day I took the vehicle for a check at Carmax, and while slowing at an intersection to let a school bus pass, the car completely shut down. I started again and drove very carefully. They could not diagnose the problem at Carmax and they wanted to send to Jeep. I eventually returned the vehicle. I had seen reports of many problems with the 2022 Wagoneer model, but none about the 2023, but I now came across forums where people even describe complete shutdowns of the vehicle while driving in the highway. While I returned the vehicle, I think these serious engine and system failures could endanger others on the road. I took videos and pictures of the problems. Happy to share if you request them.

- Summary: On [XXX] I was backing up trying to hook up a Uhaul trailer when suddenly my car completely lost its brakes and crashed into the trailer. The brake pedal became completely loose. Luckily for me this happened on my home driveway, because the next day I would be making a 1000 mile trip (Pennsylvania to Panama City Beach) pulling the trailer and if this had happened somewhere along the way, I probably wouldn't be alive right now or someone else could have died. My car had to be dragged onto the tow truck, because after my car crashed behind the trailer, the car got stuck and nothing else worked. Since then, my car has been parked at Hillview Motors (Greensburg/PA), awaiting a solution from Stelantis/Jeep. Today (XXX), Stelantis sent an investigator (third party contract) to inspect my car and they will image the Event Data Record using the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval. Since this is an event that I consider very serious, I am writing this report so that NHTSA can take some action so that this problem does not happen to anyone again. After it is fixed, I intend to sell my car because I no longer trust it and I will not be able to drive it with my family inside it. You can hear the parking pin trying to engage until it slows to a point and then it'll slam on and lock up the brakes and skid to a stall. This has happened four times now and the vehicle has been in the shop the entire summer. Someone is going to get killed from this.

- Summary: I was driving 35mph and my breaks and steering were not working. The car started to rattle and in order to stop the car I had to start pumping on the breaks as hard as I could and have it slow down but I had no steering control. I was luckily close to my house without turns so pulled over to my driveway by pumping the breaks and screaming for a neighbor to help me not hit other cars on the road. the week prior I had brought my car in for a recall for the electric side board that comes down when the doors are open to step into the car. It was a recall then they said I already had that looked at when I brought it in last year for recalls and so this time I would have to pay 1400 for the motor and I was told by the mechanic the electric issues would continue to arise now and to get rid of this car

- Summary: There is a major design issue with the front end of this truck. There is a problem with the front end that causes major outside tire wear. I had put about 7000 miles on the truck since I had it. The truck came with brand new tires and I had the steel belt showing and only noticed this when I washed the truck my self. I brought it to the dealership to get it looked at but they said they can’t find any reason for this. If you look at a lot of on-line forums you can see this is a major problem I’m not sure if it is the auto adjusting air ride suspension or just an issue with the front drive axel. The tires would have blown out when driving with my family if I didn’t notice this when I did.

- Summary: While driving my vehicle down a highway today several warning lights suddenly came on including ABS, traction control, air suspension. I attempted to slow down to exit the highway and the brakes didn’t work. The brake pedal was just sinking to the floor and doing absolutely nothing to slow the vehicle down. I started approaching a light with cars stopped but luckily the turn lane was open and I was able to get off the highway and coast into a parking lot. I had to throw the car in park to get it to stop. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership I had just gotten it back from the day prior after having transmission work done. This car is a death trap, extremely dangerous, and needs to be investigated. I had been driving the car most of the day without issue. There was no warning just a sudden loss of braking ability.

The Wagoneer is an awesome choice for a full-size SUV. It offers super comfy seats, great ride comfort, and a quiet cabin. However, it's worth noting that it can be a bit of a gas guzzler and parking spots can be tight.

I have a 2022 and I love it with one exception. Unfortunately, my car alarm goes off when the car is unlocked and the keys are in it. This has caused some concern for my kids, who are afraid to get anything out of the car because it might go off randomly in our driveway or garage. I kindly request that this issue be addressed as soon as possible. It would be greatly appreciated if the alarm could be adjusted so that it does not go off on an unlocked car. The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II has had some issues, but I am confident that they can be resolved. While I understand the frustration of having to bring a vehicle in for repairs, I trust that the dealership is doing their best to fix the problems. It's important to note that minor issues like the radio not working are not indicative of a larger problem. I encourage the owner to continue working with the dealership to address the more serious issues like the power steering and adaptive cruise control. I believe that with proper attention and care, this vehicle can be a safe and reliable mode of transportation for the owner and their family.

When I called about being locked out of my vehicle due to app malfunctions, the customer service reps were offensive and unhelpful. Our 2022 Wagoneer II had some initial problems that persisted for about a year, including electrical issues, warning lights, and occasional failure to start. Despite having it at the dealership three times, the issue persisted. However, during the third visit, the dealership discovered that the main wiring harness had bent pins and was not connected properly. They replaced the main wiring harness after removing the front seats and console. Since that repair was carried out five months ago, we have not experienced any issues. We are thrilled with our Wagoneer and believe that this fix has resolved all of the problems. The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II has had some issues that need to be addressed. Despite multiple dealership visits, the problems have not been resolved. The vehicle has been in and out of service over 20 times in the past year. While some issues such as the radio have not been fixed, there are more serious issues such as the power steering going out while driving. It is important that these issues are taken seriously and addressed promptly. Jeep should take responsibility and recall the vehicle to ensure the safety of its customers. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues before considering purchasing a Grand Wagoneer.

As a long-time Jeep customer, I was excited to trade in my Wagoneer. Unfortunately, my experience with the vehicle was not what I had hoped for. The build quality was subpar, with incorrectly installed parts, falling trim, misaligned doors, peeling clear coat, and electronic issues. Ultimately, I had to trade it in at a significant loss and opt for a Kia Carnival, which cost $26k less and has much better build quality. It's important to note that not all dealers are certified Wagoneer dealers and may not follow the promised standards. Despite my disappointment, I remain a loyal Jeep customer and hope for better experiences in the future.
