I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SERVICE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY TOOK OFF MY LEFT FRONT TIRE AND SAW WHERE MY INNER APRON WAS SEVERELY CORRODED, CRACKED AND PERFORATED.THEY STATED THEY NEVER SEEN SUCH A TYPE OF CORROSION IN THIS AREA AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE THE MANUFACTURER LOOK AT IT AND TAKE IT TO A BODY SHOP. THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS IT WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK AS THE STRUT TOWER COULD DISLODGE AND COME UP THROUGH THE HOOD OF MY VEHICLE WHICH IS CLOSE TO MY BRAKE LINE AND COULD AFFECT MY STEERING. I DID TAKE IT 2 BODY SHOPS BOTH OF WHICH CONCURRED THAT THIS TYPE OF CORROSION SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AND THEY ALSO STRESSED IT WAS COMPROMISING MY SAFETY AND THERE COULD BE A SHIFT OF MY SUSPENSION AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. I DID CONTACT INFINITI SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND IT WAS ONLY GLANCED AT NOT INSPECTED. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WROTE A LETTER TO THE OWNER OF CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. I WAS THAN ABOUT A WEEK LATER ASKED BY THE LOCAL DEALER IF THEY COULD LOOK AT MY SUV AGAIN AND PICTURES WERE EMAILED BY BODY SHOP TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF DEALERSHIP AND SENT TO CORPORATE AND MY REQUEST TO HAVE THEM REPAIR VEHICLE WAS DENIED AND I HAVE HAD VEHICLE REPAIRED AT MY COST AT LOCAL BODY SHOP. EXAMINATION SHOWED NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN THE WIRING ASSEMBLY TO THE FRONT WHEEL SENSOR HAD ITS WIRE AND ELECTRICAL PIN PULLED FROM THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR TO THE FRONT WHEEL SENSOR. - Summary: I RECENTLY TOOK DELIVERY OF A NEW INFINITY FX45. IT NOW HAS ABOUT 600 MILES ON IT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE AIMED TOO LOW TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD AHEAD. VISIBILITY IS SEVERELY LIMITED TO ABOUT 2+ CAR LENGTHS AHEAD. I CANNOT MAINTAIN MINIMAL SPEED ON AN UNLIT HIGHWAY, OR WHEN OTHER CARS ARE NOT TRAVELING WITH ME. THE DEALER STATES THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE "WITHIN FACTOR SPEC" AND WILL DO NOTHING TO ASSIST. HE WILL NOT CHECK IT AT NIGHT; NOR WILL HE CHECK MY CAR AGAINST OTHERS IN THE SHOP OR ON THE DEALERSHIP FLOOR. THE DEALER ADDS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ADJUST THESE LIGHTS AS THERE IS NO ADJUSTMENT CAPABILITY BUILT INTO THE HEADLIGHT MODULE. THE DEALER, PEPE INFINITY, WHITE PLAINS, NY 10601, WILL NO LONGER DISCUSS THE PROBLEM WITH ME; NOR HAS ANYONE CONTACTED ME TO ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IF I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR AFTER DARK, I WANT TO GET ANOTHER CAR OR HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. INFINITY USA SAYS EXACTLY THE SAME THING. THEIR POSITION IS THAT IF INFINITY RELEASED THE CAR, IT MUST MEET ALL FEDERAL SPECIFICATIONS, AND WILL DO NOTHING MORE. THEY DID AGREE TO LET ME VISIT ANOTHER INFINITY DEALER TO "INDEPENDENTLY" CHECK THE HEADLIGHTS, BUT IT WILL PROBABLY BE AT MY OWN EXPENSE. IN THE MEANTIME, THE CAR IS VIRTUALLY UNDRIVEABLE AT NIGHT UNLESS DRIVEN IN A LIGHTED AREA AND AT LOW SPEEDS. *NLM

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2003 Infiniti Qx4.

- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain air bag inflator replacement service parts that may have been installed as part of a theft or collision repair. The parts include certain passenger-side air bag inflators designed to fit Infiniti 2002-2003 QX4, 2006-2010 M35 and M45; Nissan 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, and both driver and passenger-side inflators designed to fit 2007-2012 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback vehicles. These replacement inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the inflators as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 14, 2022. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

(Nissan) is recalling certain 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, 2002-2004 Pathfinder, 2007-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated, frontal passenger air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators with alternate desiccated inflators, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 888-737-9511 or Infiniti customer service at 888-810-3715.

(Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2001-2003 Nissan Maxima, 2002-2004 Pathfinder, 2002-2006 Sentra, 2002-2003 Infiniti QX4 and I35, 2003 FX35 and FX45, and 2001 I30 vehicles. Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on June 15, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: On December 18, 2015 Nissan informed NHTSA of an amendment of this recall to remove 2004-2005 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 vehicles.

OVER TIME, THIS SNOW/WATER AND SALT INTRUSION MAY RESULT IN CORROSION OF THE STRUT TOWER HOUSING IN SOME SUBJECT VEHICLES.
- Consequence: THE STRUT HOUSING MAY CRACK AND PULL AWAY FROM THE INNER HOOD LEDGE ASSEMBLY. THIS MAY LEAD TO GRINDING NOISES, INCREASED STEERING EFFORT, AND POSSIBLY THE STEERING COLUMN TO BREAK, RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
- Remedy: NISSAN WILL INSPECT THE STRUT HOUSING AND REPAIR THE VEHICLES AS NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE. AN INTERIM NOTIFICATION LETTER WAS SENT OUT IN MAY 2011. THE SECOND NOTICE WAS MAILED ON JULY 25, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

The interior is beautiful, and the ride is like no other. Being that it is the last model year, of course, you got a great deal. If you are seriously looking for a mid-size SUV, this is it. The QX4 has been an excellent purchase. It drives smoothly on expressways and paved roads, and has impressive acceleration. The steering is reliable and provides a secure feeling. The interior is well-designed, with a nicely laid out dashboard and tasteful woodgrain accents. Although the back seat is not as comfortable as the front, the SUV still provides a pleasant driving experience. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to driving it daily.

Leased a 2000 because of a lease deal and my need. I really liked it so much that I leased an additional one in 2001. This vehicle was vastly improved with a bigger engine, more power gizmos, an Infinity clock, express auto up and down windows, and lots of other nice features. Now that the 2000 lease is up, I just bought another one and it is a wonderful car. I have never had three of the same thing in a row before! Five stars!
