2009 Infiniti G35 problems
The Infiniti G Line is a series of compact executive cars manufactured and marketed by Infiniti, a luxury division of Nissan, for the 1991–1996 and 1999–2016 model years — across four generations.
The first two generations of the Infiniti G (P10 and P11) were sedans based on the Nissan Primera. Beginning with its third generation (V35), the Infiniti G have been rebadged versions of the Nissan Skyline line of sedans and coupes that were exported to the United States and Canada. The fourth generation (V36) introduced the hardtop coupe convertible. The Nissan FM platform, used with the third and fourth generations (V35 and V36) of the Infiniti G, also underpins the Nissan 370Z and has shared components with the Infiniti M, Infiniti EX, and Infiniti FX.
Infiniti established a new naming convention beginning with the 2014 model year; all passenger cars are designated by the letter "Q," while sport-utility model names begin with "QX." The Infiniti G was to have been replaced by the Infiniti Q50, but the G37 was revived as the Q40 beginning with the 2015 model year.

Common 2009 Infiniti G35 problems
The Infiniti G35, produced by Nissan's luxury division, has been praised for its performance and style. However, like any vehicle, it is not without its common problems. Here are some of the most frequently reported issues with the 2009 Infiniti G35, based on complaints from owners:
- Engine electrical system problems: Some owners have reported issues with the engine dying while the car is in motion, which can be caused by a defect in the crankshaft and crank sensors. This problem can lead to a complete loss of control over the vehicle, making it a significant safety concern.
- Airbag light illumination: The airbag light is known to illuminate and stay on, even after service. This issue can be related to the engine going into safe mode or limiting the amount of power the engine has. In some cases, this problem has persisted for three years, despite recall repairs.
- Excessive brake system noise and seizing: Some owners have reported excessive noise from the brake system, as well as issues with the brakes seizing up. This can make the car difficult to stop and may require frequent repairs.
- Exterior lighting problems: The third brake light has been reported to fail while the car is in motion, which can make it difficult for other drivers to see the car when it is braking. This problem can be particularly dangerous when driving at night.
- Drivability issues due to failing crankshaft angle sensor: The crankshaft angle sensor can fail, leading to drivability issues and an illuminated check engine light. Nissan has issued a recall for some of the affected model years to address this issue.
- Rattling timing chain: Some owners have reported a rattling noise coming from the timing chain, which can be a sign of wear and tear or a manufacturing defect. This issue can lead to serious engine problems if left unaddressed.
- Faulty interior accessories: Some owners have reported issues with the car's interior accessories, such as the dashboard cracking or the car radio and CD player malfunctioning. These issues can be a nuisance and may require replacement of the faulty parts.
While these issues are common, it is important to note that not all 2009 Infiniti G35s will experience these problems. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can help prevent or address these issues, and some of them may be covered under warranty or recall campaigns. If you are considering purchasing a 2009 Infiniti G35, it is a good idea to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic to identify any potential issues before making a purchase.
