2015 Honda Pilot problems
The Honda Pilot is a mid-size crossover SUV with three-row seating manufactured by Honda since 2002. Primarily aimed at the North American market, the Pilot is the largest SUV produced by Honda. Pilots are currently manufactured in Lincoln, Alabama, and the Pilot was produced in Alliston, Ontario until April 2007. The first generation Pilot was released in April 2002 as a 2003 model.
The Pilot shares its platform with the Acura MDX, as well as the North American market Odyssey minivan. The Pilot's unibody construction and independent suspension are designed to provide handling similar to that of a car, and it has integrated perimeter frame rails to permit towing and light off-road use.
Prior to the introduction of the Pilot, Honda marketed the compact crossover CR-V and the Honda Passport (a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo). The Honda Passport that was sold between 1993 and 2002 was a truck-based design. The Pilot is Honda's largest SUV, although the 2010 Crosstour surpassed the Pilot in length. The Pilot is now currently in its fourth generation, with multiple design changes occurring from getting bigger and resembling a truck to downsizing and becoming sleeker to now a slight mix of both.
The Pilot is sold in North America and the Middle East, while the Honda MDX (first generation Acura MDX) was marketed in Japan and Australia for several years. The second-generation Pilot was also sold in Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, Latin America, and the Philippines.

Common 2015 Honda Pilot problems
The Honda Pilot 2015 is known for its reliability, but like any vehicle, it has some common problems reported by owners. These issues are generally minor and can be addressed with reasonable repair costs.
- Door Lock Issues: Another common problem is door lock issues, where the doors lock on their own around 60,000 miles.
- Transmission Shuddering: Some owners have reported shuddering while shifting gears within the first 20,000 miles.
- Engine Problems: Engine problems, such as check engine lights, excessive vibration, high oil consumption, and even blown engines, have been reported by some owners. These issues are generally more serious and may require more extensive repairs.
- Interior Accessories: Owners have reported issues with interior accessories, such as uncomfortable headrests, stiff seats, broken displays, and door lock problems. While these issues are not as critical as engine or transmission problems, they can still affect the overall driving experience and require repairs.
- Warped Front Brake Rotors: Warped front brake rotors can result in heavy vibration, which was a common issue with the 2015 Honda Pilot. Most drivers have likely had the brakes replaced by now, but if you're experiencing this problem, it's essential to have it checked and repaired.

SUSPENSION PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-02-02
- VIN: 5FNYF3H26FB
- Components: SUSPENSION
- Summary: On February 3, 2022, the right front lower control arm bushing was observed to be leaking fluid. This condition was confirmed by a Honda dealer toward the end of the same month. The failed bushing is a defective design that has existed on Pilot vehicles since at least 2009 and persisted in successive models. The fluid-filled elastomeric bushing failure is manifested by loss of fluid which leaves a black streak on the underside of the control arm necessitating an unscheduled maintenance action. Left undetected, the failure would lead to a loss of structural integrity and conceivably a loss of control under consistent hot and dry environmental conditions where polymer degradation is accelerated. The attached files depict the failed bushing as well as a serviceable bushing from the same vehicle.

Great Honda quality. The interior is spacious, providing ample room for both seating and storage. The color option of modern steel is particularly stylish and modern.
-
I bought a 2015 Pilot before they changed the body style, just like a previous blogger did. I prefer boxy SUVs for their practicality, and the 2015 model has almost as much volume in the back as a Yukon. Honda engines are known for their reliability, which is the most important attribute any vehicle can have - bells and whistles are just a bonus. I've had a few mechanical problems with Honda products over the years, but the parent company always stepped up and made things right. I wish our U.S. auto industry would learn from Honda's example and strive to make the finest cars in the world. This is my third Pilot and I have no complaints.
-
I'm so glad I decided to buy a Honda! From the friendly salesman to the high quality and value of the car, it was definitely a great investment.
-
We absolutely adore our Honda vehicles! Our first Honda was an Odyssey 1996, which we fell in love with due to its spaciousness, great mileage, and stylish design. We drove it for over 400,000 miles and it never let us down. However, when the Odyssey's style changed, it no longer met our needs. That's when we decided to purchase a 2015 Honda Pilot, and our love for Honda only grew stronger. We even added a Honda Civic to our collection! Both of our children also drive Honda Pilots, a 2015 and a 2016. Although the 2015 Honda Pilot's body style is our favorite by far, we love all of our Honda vehicles equally!
-
I bought the 2015 Model year because I preferred its style over the 2016, which looked more like a mini-van than an SUV. Additionally, I had concerns about the 2016 model's technology and preferred to wait for the manufacturer to work out any potential issues before investing in it. Our 2015 model has proven to be incredibly reliable, even in challenging weather conditions such as driving in a blizzard with snow tires or crossing the country on I-80 in a whiteout. We appreciate the vehicle's reliability, appearance, comfort, and utility. It's a shame that the body style has changed and that the top trim fully loaded in the 8 passenger configuration is no longer available. We're not sure what we'll do when it's time to retire our current vehicle, but we plan to keep it for at least another 5 years as it has served us well with 80k miles on it already.

The dealership and Honda representatives have tried to fix this noise 3-4 times, but unfortunately, it still persists. During the last attempt, they reset the computer hoping that would help, but it did not. Aside from this issue, the car is quite roomy. However, the cup holders for the driver should be switched so that the retractable cover on the console doesn't have to open all the way. Additionally, the DVD player should have a larger screen since there are 5 passengers trying to view it. Lastly, the windshield wiper in the back window is loud when turned off and sets back in the holder. These are all minor issues compared to the squeaking noise up front. Although I have bought 3 Hondas so far, I am sad to say that I would probably not buy one again.

The Pilot was my dream car and I was so excited when I first bought it. However, after a while, it started having some vibration in the front end. Unfortunately, it got worse and worse, and it feels like the car is about to blast off to the moon. I took it to the dealership, and they tried to fix the problem by balancing the tires, but it didn't work. The car still shakes like crazy, and between 55 and 80 mph, it makes a terrible loud humming noise, which makes it hard to hear the radio. I have decided to get rid of this car as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

On May 22nd, I traded in my perfectly working 2011 Element because it had Takata airbags (which Honda never notified me of) and I couldn't afford to have the replacement complicate my drive out west in August. Instead, I traded it for a brand new 2015 Pilot EX with only 7 miles on it. I drove the Pilot home that evening and on May 23rd, I took it out for a spin. On May 24th, I went to move the Pilot early in the evening and unfortunately, it wouldn't start. Despite trying many times, it just wouldn't budge. We put the trickle charger on it overnight and on May 25th, it finally started in the morning. I drove to Agway, shopped for about 20 minutes, and when I returned, the 2015 Pilot wouldn't start again. Please continue reading for my favorite features.

This is my first time purchasing a Honda vehicle, but unfortunately, I had a negative experience. The brake system was not up to my expectations and the pick up was slow. Additionally, I found the interior to be of lower quality than I had hoped. In comparison to my other vehicles, which are Toyotas, I felt that the Toyota vehicles were much more precise and responsive.
