2023 Honda Hr-v problems
The Honda HR-V is a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) manufactured and marketed by Honda over three generations.
The first generation HR-V was based on the Honda Logo. It was marketed from 1999 to 2006 in Europe, Japan and select Asia-Pacific markets – and featured three doors (1999–2003) or five doors (1999–2006). The two configurations were internally designated GH2 and GH4 respectively.
After a seven-year hiatus, Honda reintroduced the nameplate for the second generation HR-V, based on the third-generation Honda Fit. Production began in late 2013 for the Japanese domestic market as the Honda Vezel (Japanese: ホンダ・ヴェゼル, Hepburn: Honda Vezeru), while production started in 2015 for North America, Australia, Brazil and select Asian markets as the HR-V. Apart from Japan, the model is also sold as the Vezel in China.
For the third-generation model, the nameplate is split between two different vehicles, one for the global market (sold as the Vezel in Japan), and a larger model based on the eleventh-generation Civic destined for North America and China. The latter model is sold outside those markets as the Honda ZR-V.
According to Honda, the name "HR-V" stands for "Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle", while the name "Vezel" is coined from "bezel", the oblique faces of a cut gem, with the "V" for "vehicle".

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM

- VIN: 3CZRZ2H72PM
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The Back window blew up and dispersed glass at least 5 ft into my driveway while I was standing behind it. It was very scary and frightening. Fortunately, I did not get hit with any debris. The windows continued to make a crackling sound for several minutes. I had just got a safety recall a few days before and was planning on taking it in but the notification should have been much sooner and marked urgent, for example: Do not drive your car, it may blow up. When I researched, I can see that the issue was known as early as Jan 2024 and I was just notified in September 2024. Also, Honda is not offering loners for the fix even though we have to wait for the window to come in and have no transportation. They should be very accommodating considering the situation - people could really get hurt.

VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-11
- VIN: 3CZRZ1H58PM
- Components: VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: While driving on the highway, the rear windshield shattered with no warning. There was no lights, no sound, no crack, nothing that would indicate a problem. The car has been in use for 2 years with no problems. Once the car had been turned on, the rear defroster was turned on for about 3 minutes. Once the window was clear, it was turned off and about 10 minutes later, it shattered. No injuries but it was startling and could have caused additional accidents on the road, especially a highway that has such high traffic as this one. For once, it's a good thing that traffic was going so slow at 7am so there was more control to stop any potential collisions. It has been taken to the dealership for an inspection and to replace the window. They said that it has happened to several people, they have seen it at least 10 times in our area. I've always looked out for my car and take it to the dealership for oil changes or any recalls in a timely manner and never heard of this beforehand. Thankfully, no one else was in the car with me. But this should be more well known if it's such a common problem.

The car is experiencing some issues such as power loss, seat belts not retracting, driver's side window leaking air, and misalignment of the driver's side door with the body. These issues are likely due to poor build quality and lack of attention to detail during manufacturing.
Bobby Kozey 2024-10-29
I regret leasing this car as it does not meet my expectations. The uncomfortable seat, lack of trunk release from the inside, and manual lift are major drawbacks. Compared to my previous Acura, this car falls short. It is important to be aware of the uncomfortable seats when considering this car. Additionally, the car rocks easily when other vehicles pass by. However, I am confident that I will find a better car that meets my needs and preferences.
Elbert Champlin 2024-09-02
I recently purchased a 2023 HRV in Sport trim with AWD for my son who will be getting his license soon. The total cost, including tax and license, was around $33.5k. While it is a bit more expensive than my 2020 Accord EXL with the 2.0 Turbo and 10 speed AT, I understand that prices have gone up due to inflation. I can only imagine how much a 2023 Accord EXL would cost! The HRV is a basic car and lacks front grab handles for the driver and front passenger, which may take some getting used to. I was surprised to find that Homelink was not included in the car at this price point. However, the car drives well for a small SUV and the engine is smooth, although it is definitely underpowered compared to my Accord's 2-liter turbo. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, even though $33k doesn't get you as much as it used to.
Darian Terry 2024-05-05
The technology used by HRV can be quite concerning. At high speeds, the steering wheel may become stuck, making it difficult to maneuver. Unfortunately, my experience with two different Honda dealerships did not yield any solutions. While I am disappointed with my purchase and the fear and insecurity it has caused me, I am unable to return the vehicle at this time. It is my hope that Honda will take steps to address these safety concerns and improve their technology in the future.
Antonio Satterfield 2024-04-20
Compared to our 2018 model, the new HR-V has only a few new PROs, such as a wider vehicle that provides more front space and more safety technology available. However, the overall look is a major downgrade, and some people may not like it. The front end design is not very appealing, and the entire vehicle looks like a dated blob. On the bright side, the inside looks more modern. Unfortunately, the new HR-V has lost some of its previous details, such as the magic seats, which makes it a non-contender for some people. Additionally, the new model is slower in acceleration than the previous one, which is a disappointment for many HR-V owners. However, it is important to note that everyone has different preferences and priorities when it comes to choosing a vehicle. Honda may have missed the mark for some people, but they have also made improvements that others may appreciate. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the new HR-V model.
