This pushed the Accord sedan from the upper limit of what the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines as a mid-size car to just above the lower limit of a full-size car, with the coupe still rated as a mid-size car. In 2012, the ninth-generation Accord sedan, with smaller exterior dimensions, was once again classified as a mid-size car at 119 cubic feet (3.4 m3), falling just shy of the "Large Car" classification. However, the tenth-generation Accord sedan, with similar exterior dimensions, returned to full-size car status with its combined interior space of 123 cubic feet (3.5 m3); the coupe was discontinued in 2017.
In 1982, the Accord became the first car from a Japanese manufacturer to be produced in the United States when production commenced in Marysville, Ohio at Honda's Marysville Auto Plant. The Accord has achieved considerable success, especially in the United States, where it was the best-selling Japanese car for sixteen years (1982–97), topping its class in sales in 1991 and 2001, with around ten million vehicles sold. Numerous road tests, past and present, rate the Accord as one of the world's most reliable vehicles. The Accord has been on the Car and Driver 10Best list a record 38 times.

- Summary: There is a problem with the infotainment system. Apparently when the car is exposed to warmer temperatures, the sound system begins to produce static sounds from the speakers. The sound persists even with the radio turned off. The static is so loud, I have recorded decibel levels up to 90 on my Apple Watch. I have researched this problem and it is an issue that many owners have encountered. Honda has reacted to many owners as if they are unaware of this issue and charge customers to diagnose the problem and fix the issue at the owners expense. I am wearing ear plugs in order to drive my vehicle to and from work. In order to make the sound stop is to remove the fuse under the hood, which in turn dismantles safety features such as side view camera, AM radio, and the reverse camera. Honda denies knowing about this issue and it is extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle due to the deafening sound created from the speakers.

- Summary: The radio main unit started to occasionally produce LOUD deafening static without warning. Turning off the radio unit or lowering the volume had no effect, and this static noise would continue at maximum volume through the speakers for a few minutes until it gradually faded. It made it impossible to drive, and hurt my ears whenever it happened so I had to turn off the car to stop it. The speakers were blasting around 100db when inside the car, so I purchased ear plugs to help. I opened a case with Honda and took it to the local Honda dealer. They thought it was the amplifier and replaced it, but the problem immediately occurred again when I was about to leave the dealer. They refunded the repair cost since they were wrong, and advised it was the main radio unit that needed to be replaced. This unit is still available for inspection and has been confirmed by the dealer. There is no warning when this happens. Besides that the speakers blasting at maximum volume is detrimental to my hearing, the fact that it occurs suddenly while driving on the highway is like having a concussive grenade going off and still trying to focus on everything going on around you which is impossible. Hearing horns or sirens when this occurs is impossible due to the volume. It is not safe to have this situation occur on the road, and from looking up my year make&model online I am NOT the only one with this static issue. This issue has been happening for months now whenever I try to drive it.

Once the vehicle is restarted, the static noise almost certainly emits within minutes. Furthermore, this issue results in noncompliance with several US state noise ordinances due to the decibel level produced by the static.

- Summary: A few weeks ago my cars audio system started having a loud static sound come through the speakers. It quickly got a lot worse and turning the volume down or even turning the unit off did not stop the loud static noise. It got so bad that it nearly caused me to have a wreck. The only way I was able to get it to stop was to pull over to the shoulder on a busy highway and shut the engine off. However, after pulling back onto the highway the static noise quickly returned. I contacted Honda to report the problem (case #14931953), but they acted like they had never seen this issue before and told me to go to the dealer to get a diagnostic ran. I did go to the dealer and talked to the service manager and he told me that the solution was to replace the head unit but they were on backorder. I also did some research online and a whole lot of people are having this same problem. The issue is the Head Units are overheating and Honda does not have replacement parts to fix the problem. In my opinion this is a major safety problem and is happening every time I drive my car now. Many other people experiencing this issue are also stating that this is a major safety issue when they are being blasted with very loud frequencies will trying to drive in busy traffic. They all have expressed their disbelief that Honda has not issued a recall over this problem because its dangerous.

- Summary: ABS Module went out on my vehicle while on the highway. Three lights came on, as shown in attached photo. Vehicle brake system began acting up in the moment. This is a very common issue on 2013-2017 Honda accords from all mileage amounts. They are all still on and while I can drive the vehicle, if there are any instances where I need to brake suddenly, myself and the people around me will probably end up in a dangerous collision. The Honda dealership has quoted me $2,600 to fix this with no additional information. Thousands of other drivers are experiencing the same issue. Shame on Honda for not allowing a recall on this.

They ran a diagnostic test confirming ABS module failure. Although the car is drivable they recommended I get the problem fixed, at my cost of $2800 for parts and labor. I called Honda corporate and they stated there are no recalls or extended warranties for the issue. If its is a common problem in their cars, they should fix it themselves at no cost to the consumer.

My safety is compromised as I am subjected to static noise at maximum volume, posing a risk of significant ear damage or potential hearing loss. The intensity of the noise can rapidly lead to noise-induced hearing loss. Additionally, this persistent static noise is highly distracting, increasing the risk to other drivers on the road. 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a Honda dealer. 4. The vehicle and its radio system have been inspected by Honda. The only solution offered by Honda is to replace the entire radio unit, costing between $1,000 and $3,000. It is unreasonable to expect customers to pay such an amount for what is evidently a manufacturing defect, especially when similar issues have led to recalls in other Honda models like the Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport. Following the dealership's advice, I contacted Honda corporate to file a claim in hopes of receiving a discount on the necessary repairs, which should ideally be covered under a recall but are not for the Accord model. Unfortunately, the claim was denied. Honda corporate claims to be unaware of the issue, despite numerous online forums and videos highlighting the same problem, along with Honda's reluctance to address it. Honda corporate denied me any discounts, stating that I do not have a long-standing relationship with them since I have not used their services for all my maintenance needs. 5. There were no warnings prior to failure that occurred in March 2023.

I have taken the vehicle to my local dealer where vehicle was purchased and inspected. They advised me to contact Honda Customer Service. Upon calling them they advised me there were no recalls at this time. My 2016 Honda should not be peeling when my 2004 Honda has had no issues. I am aware of Toyota having paint recalls on their 2016 models and unsure if it could be from the same paint manufacture. - Summary: Hello, I have a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L which has roughly 105,000 miles. All of my brake lights, VSA, Traction control, and tpms lights came on. I went to get the vehicle diagnosed and the issue was with a faulty VSA modulator. This is a very expensive part and a feature in a vehicle that should not be faulty. I have already repaired this issue but I just find it ridiculous that something so standard has arised, and has cost me over $2,000 to fix. Can you please report honda and look into this. 2016 Honda Accord recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2016 Honda Accord.
- Manufacturer: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
- Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
- Consequence: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

- Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Acura MDX, 2015-2019 Acura TLX and 2015-2017 Honda Accord vehicles, equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine. Particulates in fuel may adhere to the internal components of the fuel pump, reducing its performance.
- Consequence: Reduced fuel pump performance can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of crash.
- Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will update the fuel injection engine control unit (FI-ECU) software and, if necessary, replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began March 25, 2019. Owners may contact customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Acura's recall number for this recall is P3W. Honda's recall number for this recall is N3X.

- Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Honda Accord vehicles. The case for the battery sensor, part of the battery management system, may allow water to get in, potentially causing an electrical short.
- Consequence: An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the sensor, free of charge. Dealers will perform an interim remedy of applying adhesive to the case to prevent water intrusion. The recall began November 8, 2017. Owners may contact American Honda Customer Support Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is KG0.

Take the Accord for a test drive at speeds above 55 mph to ensure that you are comfortable with the noise level. Overall, it is a great car. As someone who is tall and on the heavier side, I find it very comfortable. After two months of mixed driving, I am getting just over 30 mpg. However, the floor mats are not very durable and tend to wear out within a few months. In fact, there are online blogs where people have complained about the quality of the floor mats.

I did a lot of research and took a lot of test drives. This is a wonderful car. It has a fantastic drive, and is very comfortable! I've never bought a sedan, and I have no regrets with this car. It is truly my dream car.

I am thrilled to have acquired an EX sensing coupe for the price of an LX coupe. The EX's wheels are a significant upgrade. Although I miss the power of my previous v6, the fuel economy of the EX is impressive and the power is still adequate for easy merging. The car's music options are plentiful and Android Auto works seamlessly with my Galaxy S7. The ride is well-balanced between compliance and sportiness, providing a planted feel without being harsh. The OEM tires were not up to my standards, so I replaced them with better ones that offer superior traction, especially in inclement weather. The car's 4-cylinder engine is powerful and fuel-efficient. The driver's side floor mat showed significant wear by 15,000 miles, but this is a minor issue. Although the sound system with subwoofer is not as good as I expected, the car's overall performance is impressive.

I recently purchased the Touring model, Year 1, and I must say that I am impressed with the performance and handling of this Honda. It hugs the curves nicely and rides smoothly over bumps. The multiple displays are a nice touch and I found them to be very useful. I set the upper console to display the date/time and any alerts and left the bottom console for multimedia/audio use. You can even customize the background of the screen! The sound quality is good, although the sub-woofer could be more powerful. Navigation is also a nice feature, although it could be improved. The Touring model (Coupe) has a spacious front seat, but the back seats are better suited for kids as taller adults may hit their head. While there are a few bugs in the console, such as slow booting and intermittent parking sensor display, the collision avoidance system is impressive and sensitive. This car is loaded with features! If I had to suggest some improvements to Honda, I would ask for an update to the main console's android 4 OS, the option to add apps, a better warranty, dual power seats, and power tilt for the steering wheel. Despite these minor issues, I absolutely love this car! One thing to note is that the parking sensors may randomly shut off, which could be an issue for those who rely on them like I do.

I recently switched from a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 with technology package to the Accord Touring. Although I really liked my Camry, I felt that I got a better price on the Honda. The ride comfort is smoother and the Honda Sensing package offers more technology. While the acceleration on the Touring is a little less peppy than the Camry V6, it's still good enough. The interior is more spacious and comfortable for longer drives. The stereo system is a little weak for a 360 watt system, but the audio and navigation features are better on the Accord. I've only been driving it for 3 weeks, but so far, I'm really liking the Accord. After 2 years and 50k miles, the only issue I had with my Camry was the push button starter, which seemed to go out frequently. I'm considering purchasing the new 2018 2.0 turbo. After owning the Accord for 3 years, I can say that the ride comfort is still smooth. However, the starter has been a big issue, having been replaced three times since I bought it new. The LED headlights also quit working, but Honda added it to their recall list and reimbursed me for the cost. The trunk torsion tension bar snapped, but I had it fixed at the dealer. The buttons for the garage door opener haven't worked well since it was new. Also, the stereo subwoofer speaker quit working, but I had a new one installed by a car stereo dealer (not the car dealer) and it improved the sound tremendously.I have decided against buying a new Accord this time for two reasons. Firstly, they are no longer offering the V6, and secondly, I have had constant minor issues owning prior Toyota Camrys. However, I will note that the new Accord looks nice, is comfortable, and drives great. The 2.0 Turbo is fine, but I still prefer the raw horsepower of a V6, not fabricated HP with high revs. As of March 30, 2020, it has 103,450 miles and I am still driving it. I had everything fixed, including the starter. This time, I went with a non-Honda manufactured starter bought from Napa, which seems to be much better and hasn't failed. It still rides comfortably. In fact, I was going to buy a new 2020 XSE Camry V6 back in November 2019, but I haven't yet. I have been happy with the car so far. Due to the virus outbreak, I may look at getting something in a few months at a discount.

The 2016 Accord EX-L is a great car for short trips and driving around town. However, at speeds over 60 miles/hour, the wind and road noise can be quite loud, which can be uncomfortable. Additionally, the top of the dashboard can get very hot when the sun is shining, which can be bothersome. Despite these issues, the car has been very reliable and performs like new even after 1 year and 4 months.

After driving my old six-speed manual Honda Accord Coupe for over 260,000 miles, I decided it was time for a new ride. I tested some of the competing companies offering similarly reliable mid-size sedans (Toyota, Subaru), but ultimately decided to stick with Honda. My old 2004 Accord treated me very well, and Honda has proven to be an incredibly reliable car manufacturer. When I started looking into what model I'd be interested in and could afford, I realized that my choices were limited, given that I insisted on getting another 6-speed manual, which they don't make at any model above the EX. I went with the EX, even though I could easily do without some of the I completely agree that having a volume knob would be much more convenient than having to tap the volume space on the touch screen. The same goes for navigating through the various apps within the central entertainment system, like Sirius Radio. Having everything touchscreen can be distracting and frustrating, as you have to touch the screen in the exact correct position or risk hitting something you hadn't desired to hit. I also prefer a knob to turn rather than having to tap my fingers on a screen when scanning radio stations or wishing to turn the volume up or down. It's confusing, annoying and incredibly frustrating. I have the exact same gripe about the climate control system--Honda has apparently done away with the actual knobs to adjust the cool air/heat, and has replaced them with buttons. So, rather than have the control set all the way to the I recently downgraded to a 4-cylinder from my 6-speed V6 coupe and was expecting a drop in acceleration. However, I have noticed that this car is slower than I anticipated. I have had to adjust the way I drive, including the gear I'm in and when I shift, to accommodate for the vehicle's sluggish acceleration. Additionally, the car doesn't shift smoothly when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd or from 2nd to 1st unless the car is almost at a dead stop. Shifting into reverse is also not smooth, as the car has to be at a dead stop to shift into reverse at all. It could be that the car is still getting

Hello! I wanted to share my thoughts on the 2016 Accord Touring. It took me a while to find a fuel-efficient yet sporty V6 sedan that would fit me well, as I'm 6'2'' and 250 pounds. But I finally found the Accord Touring, which I purchased certified used with only 32,500 miles in November 2017. I was thrilled with all the upgrades it had, such as Bluetooth, Navigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more. Although I was surprised that Honda doesn't offer cooled seats in the front or blind spot indicators in the mirrors, the safety features like lane departure and brake system more than make up for it. After owning the car for a month or so, I noticed one of the DRL (daytime running light/LED strip) was half blown on the Honda while driving to sell my old car. I called up the dealer I bought it from, but the person I spoke to was a bit rude and told me it would cost $140 for a diagnostic fee. However, I eventually found a new Honda dealer in Barrington, IL, where they treated me much better and didn't charge a ridiculous fee for warranty work. I'm happy to say that my touchscreen issue was also resolved under warranty. Although I was a bit upset that the factory warranty was up at 36k miles and my car was at 33k or so, I'm glad that everything was taken care of. Thank you for listening!Within the first few months of ownership, my car was in the shop 3 times and had over 2k in warranty work. As many others have mentioned, the stereo is pretty much crap. When I turn up the bass, the plastic in the rear deck rattles, and it sounds pretty terrible in general. The car feels cheap when hitting bumps in the road, and the 6-speed transmission is just an absolute mess. However, the accelerating is decent. I miss the volume knob, but fortunately, I have the controls on the steering wheel. I'm pretty frugal with my money and keep my cars for a good 150k++ miles easily. This car has been so disappointing that I'm already thinking about trading it in and losing my butt on it. The Mrs has a 14' Grand Cherokee with the 8-speed transmission, which shifts like butter and has fantastic acceleration with the V8. This is my first and probably last Honda vehicle. ** UPDATE 3/2020 *** I've had the car for a few years now, and I'm only at 56k miles. I've had both headlights replaced due to the LED strips burning out (under warranty permanently now), I've had the radio replaced under warranty due to it freezing, and I've also had the Honda dealer read their own technical bulletin that went out regarding the rattling from the rear deck.I noticed the same issues with downshifting in colder weather. However, on the highway, I was able to achieve up to 38 MPG's, which I think is pretty good for a V6. The stock speakers and subwoofer are terrible, so I had a 10

I noticed that the sound system in my Honda car doesn't have much depth and sounds like a hand-held radio. Even the sub-woofer is not that great, and I was informed by Honda that to hear it, I have to turn down the bass and vice versa. However, an employee at the dealer suggested that I can make it sound better by playing through an equalizer. Although my previous car's sound system was better, I am still hopeful that I can improve this one. I also experienced some noise from the rear speaker and wiper blades during heavy rain, but the technician informed me that it's a common issue. During the test drive, I will pay attention to the sound system, wiper blade noise, and road/wind noise at higher speeds.

I have been a loyal Honda customer for many years, having owned six different models including the Civic and multiple Accords. While I have always had positive experiences with my previous leases, my most recent lease of a 2016 Accord Sport was unfortunately disappointing. The paint quality was poor, the brakes needed replacing at only 28K miles, and the CVT transmission and sound system were subpar. I have noticed a decrease in the overall build quality compared to my previous Honda vehicles. Despite these issues, I remain confident in Honda's reputation for producing reliable and high-quality vehicles. However, I have decided not to lease another Accord and am eagerly awaiting the end of my current lease.
