This pushed the Accord sedan from the upper limit of what the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines as a mid-size car to just above the lower limit of a full-size car, with the coupe still rated as a mid-size car. In 2012, the ninth-generation Accord sedan, with smaller exterior dimensions, was once again classified as a mid-size car at 119 cubic feet (3.4 m3), falling just shy of the "Large Car" classification. However, the tenth-generation Accord sedan, with similar exterior dimensions, returned to full-size car status with its combined interior space of 123 cubic feet (3.5 m3); the coupe was discontinued in 2017.
In 1982, the Accord became the first car from a Japanese manufacturer to be produced in the United States when production commenced in Marysville, Ohio at Honda's Marysville Auto Plant. The Accord has achieved considerable success, especially in the United States, where it was the best-selling Japanese car for sixteen years (1982–97), topping its class in sales in 1991 and 2001, with around ten million vehicles sold. Numerous road tests, past and present, rate the Accord as one of the world's most reliable vehicles. The Accord has been on the Car and Driver 10Best list a record 38 times.

- Summary: There is a problem with the infotainment system. Apparently when the car is exposed to warmer temperatures, the sound system begins to produce static sounds from the speakers. The sound persists even with the radio turned off. The static is so loud, I have recorded decibel levels up to 90 on my Apple Watch. I have researched this problem and it is an issue that many owners have encountered. Honda has reacted to many owners as if they are unaware of this issue and charge customers to diagnose the problem and fix the issue at the owners expense. I am wearing ear plugs in order to drive my vehicle to and from work. In order to make the sound stop is to remove the fuse under the hood, which in turn dismantles safety features such as side view camera, AM radio, and the reverse camera. Honda denies knowing about this issue and it is extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle due to the deafening sound created from the speakers.

- Summary: The radio main unit started to occasionally produce LOUD deafening static without warning. Turning off the radio unit or lowering the volume had no effect, and this static noise would continue at maximum volume through the speakers for a few minutes until it gradually faded. It made it impossible to drive, and hurt my ears whenever it happened so I had to turn off the car to stop it. The speakers were blasting around 100db when inside the car, so I purchased ear plugs to help. I opened a case with Honda and took it to the local Honda dealer. They thought it was the amplifier and replaced it, but the problem immediately occurred again when I was about to leave the dealer. They refunded the repair cost since they were wrong, and advised it was the main radio unit that needed to be replaced. This unit is still available for inspection and has been confirmed by the dealer. There is no warning when this happens. Besides that the speakers blasting at maximum volume is detrimental to my hearing, the fact that it occurs suddenly while driving on the highway is like having a concussive grenade going off and still trying to focus on everything going on around you which is impossible. Hearing horns or sirens when this occurs is impossible due to the volume. It is not safe to have this situation occur on the road, and from looking up my year make&model online I am NOT the only one with this static issue. This issue has been happening for months now whenever I try to drive it.

Once the vehicle is restarted, the static noise almost certainly emits within minutes. The static progressively gets louder unless the vehicle is turned off, and it is impossible to hear other vehicles, law enforcement, EMS, and/or fire department sirens. Furthermore, this issue results in noncompliance with several US state noise ordinances due to the decibel level produced by the static.

- Summary: A few weeks ago my cars audio system started having a loud static sound come through the speakers. It quickly got a lot worse and turning the volume down or even turning the unit off did not stop the loud static noise. It got so bad that it nearly caused me to have a wreck. The only way I was able to get it to stop was to pull over to the shoulder on a busy highway and shut the engine off. However, after pulling back onto the highway the static noise quickly returned. I contacted Honda to report the problem (case #14931953), but they acted like they had never seen this issue before and told me to go to the dealer to get a diagnostic ran. I did go to the dealer and talked to the service manager and he told me that the solution was to replace the head unit but they were on backorder. I also did some research online and a whole lot of people are having this same problem. The issue is the Head Units are overheating and Honda does not have replacement parts to fix the problem. In my opinion this is a major safety problem and is happening every time I drive my car now. Many other people experiencing this issue are also stating that this is a major safety issue when they are being blasted with very loud frequencies will trying to drive in busy traffic. They all have expressed their disbelief that Honda has not issued a recall over this problem because its dangerous.

- Summary: ABS Module went out on my vehicle while on the highway. Three lights came on, as shown in attached photo. Vehicle brake system began acting up in the moment. This is a very common issue on 2013-2017 Honda accords from all mileage amounts. They are all still on and while I can drive the vehicle, if there are any instances where I need to brake suddenly, myself and the people around me will probably end up in a dangerous collision. The Honda dealership has quoted me $2,600 to fix this with no additional information. Thousands of other drivers are experiencing the same issue. Shame on Honda for not allowing a recall on this.

They ran a diagnostic test confirming ABS module failure. Although the car is drivable they recommended I get the problem fixed, at my cost of $2800 for parts and labor. I called Honda corporate and they stated there are no recalls or extended warranties for the issue. If its is a common problem in their cars, they should fix it themselves at no cost to the consumer.

My safety is compromised as I am subjected to static noise at maximum volume, posing a risk of significant ear damage or potential hearing loss. The intensity of the noise can rapidly lead to noise-induced hearing loss. Additionally, this persistent static noise is highly distracting, increasing the risk to other drivers on the road. 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a Honda dealer. 4. The vehicle and its radio system have been inspected by Honda. The only solution offered by Honda is to replace the entire radio unit, costing between $1,000 and $3,000. It is unreasonable to expect customers to pay such an amount for what is evidently a manufacturing defect, especially when similar issues have led to recalls in other Honda models like the Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport. Following the dealership's advice, I contacted Honda corporate to file a claim in hopes of receiving a discount on the necessary repairs, which should ideally be covered under a recall but are not for the Accord model. Unfortunately, the claim was denied. Honda corporate claims to be unaware of the issue, despite numerous online forums and videos highlighting the same problem, along with Honda's reluctance to address it. Honda corporate denied me any discounts, stating that I do not have a long-standing relationship with them since I have not used their services for all my maintenance needs. 5. There were no warnings prior to failure that occurred in March 2023.

I have taken the vehicle to my local dealer where vehicle was purchased and inspected. They advised me to contact Honda Customer Service. Upon calling them they advised me there were no recalls at this time. My 2016 Honda should not be peeling when my 2004 Honda has had no issues. I am aware of Toyota having paint recalls on their 2016 models and unsure if it could be from the same paint manufacture. - Summary: Hello, I have a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L which has roughly 105,000 miles. All of my brake lights, VSA, Traction control, and tpms lights came on. I went to get the vehicle diagnosed and the issue was with a faulty VSA modulator. This is a very expensive part and a feature in a vehicle that should not be faulty. I have already repaired this issue but I just find it ridiculous that something so standard has arised, and has cost me over $2,000 to fix. Can you please report honda and look into this. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2016 Honda Accord.
- Manufacturer: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
- Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
- Consequence: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

- Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Acura MDX, 2015-2019 Acura TLX and 2015-2017 Honda Accord vehicles, equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine. Particulates in fuel may adhere to the internal components of the fuel pump, reducing its performance.
- Consequence: Reduced fuel pump performance can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of crash.
- Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will update the fuel injection engine control unit (FI-ECU) software and, if necessary, replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began March 25, 2019. Owners may contact customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Acura's recall number for this recall is P3W. Honda's recall number for this recall is N3X.

- Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Honda Accord vehicles. The case for the battery sensor, part of the battery management system, may allow water to get in, potentially causing an electrical short.
- Consequence: An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the sensor, free of charge. Dealers will perform an interim remedy of applying adhesive to the case to prevent water intrusion. The recall began November 8, 2017. Owners may contact American Honda Customer Support Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is KG0.

It is a nice solid car for the price. However, when going over 60 miles per hour, the wind and cabin noise can be excessive and may not meet the industry's standards or Honda's reputation. If you are looking for a quiet highway drive, it may be helpful to take a long test ride and listen carefully.

I'll start and end this review with the same thought: pricepoint. After doing my research, I suspected this car to be a great value, with the dealer discounts and great service. After test driving it twice (after driving other, similar mid-sized sedans, Mazda, Toyota, Ford), I drove it home. Why? While it may not be #1 in any category by which I or anyone else values vehicles, it hit the top 2 or 3 in just about every category I was looking for in an affordable, efficient car. It holds value, gets good mileage, and is reliable. The Honda service is excellent (look it up). The car has great cargo space, a comfortable interior (which is the biggest of all comparable cars, I felt), and great safety features. It also has great re-sale value in 3 years, which I like a lot. The CVT was a mystery to me at first, but after breaking the car in and testing the transmission, I found it to be an entirely different driving experience from any car I have ever owned. In short: fun! I could drive a CVT car without paddle shifters, but I think I would miss the fun of engine braking and challenging myself to nail a good rpm setting. I can see why Honda offered this package with a Sport label. With the CVT, the forced paddle downshifts are smoother than downshifts on the other transmissions. Paddle-downshifting this car into a sharp turn is a breeze. Highway on-ramps? Drop it into 'SThis car handles very well, with smooth steering and manipulative suspension. By that, I mean one can still drop that nose into a corner, like the Accords of old. Some out there will know what I mean. For the price, I cannot recommend a vehicle with more value, reliability, efficiency, and fun. The Accord Sport is a diamond in the rough at this price point. It outshines more expensive vehicles in every category aforementioned, yet it can be had for less than $23,000 out the door. The money the buyer saves on maintenance and fuel, coupled with the performance, should push any used luxury buyer (you know who you are, I am you) toward the 2016 Accord. One just has to drive it.

I recently purchased a 2016 Honda Accord LX with CVT for around $20k plus taxes and fees. To make it more comfortable, I added aftermarket leather upholstery (Katzkin) for just over a grand. If you're not interested in moonroof, keyless start, lower profile tires, Honda Sensing, or navigation, you can save thousands by doing this. I understand that it may seem like a lot to give up, but the LX trim is designed almost perfectly for people like me. One feature I did want was the enhanced stereo of the EX-L. I was planning on installing an upgraded aftermarket stereo into my LX, but when I finally got the car, I realized the stock stereo is more than sufficient, so I'm keeping it. I'm actually worried that a stereo shop would put in a more expensive and more powerful stereo that will sound worse. I've had that happen before with another car. Anyway, for a solid two months, I was in the market for an AWD SUV. I had an extensive spreadsheet and everything. I test drove many SUVs. For the heck of it, I test drove Honda Accords in three trims: LX, EX, and EX-L V6. After that, I decided I did not need an SUV. The ride is smoother than any SUV I drove, which is expected because it is a sedan. However, the ride is also better than the Subaru Legacy. The only thing the Legacy is better at is its AWD system. If you can get over that, then the Accord is a better car. By the way, some reviewers have been complaining that they feel the road too much. That mainly is the consumers' fault. I'll explain. People like the looks of low profile tires. So car makers have been giving it to them. But lower profile tires are automatically a stiffer ride, assuming similar suspensions. Until car makers figure out how to defy the laws of physics, this will always be the case. So, I present another argument in favor of getting the base model LX if you want a smoother ride. The rims are higher profile (smaller rims) than all of the upper trims.I personally find that higher profile tires are an upgrade, which is great because it means I get to pay less. The base model LX has manual knobs for the radio, which I think is a good thing, and doesn't have an extra screen for navigation like the upper models do. Personally, I don't find car navigation very useful because I prefer to use Google Maps on my iPhone. The fuel economy is outstanding and it actually boggles my mind. This car gets better mpg than my little 2000 Honda Civic, which I always thought had really good mpg. The only downside is that I'm now spoiled and it will be difficult for me to go back to an SUV as my main car.

I read many forums. I am trying to return favor to online community through this comment.I was doing online research for long time almost for 4 weeks. First up all I wanted to buy a 2-3 year old used car to save myself from big hit of depreciation cost which happens mainly in first 2 years, but then I wasn't able to find a car with all recent safety features. So finally I made my mind to get Honda Accord with Honda Sensing Features. I found these features are very cool and I am amazed to know how useful they are just after driving about 250 miles.I didn't wanna spend another few thousand dollars to get Touring or EX-L trim, I found EX with Honda Sensing is 'Value for Money ' package.Before settling on Accord I test drove many cars which were in my budget.On Truecar.com best target price was $24554. My target was to get a deal better than that.I read and experienced all dealership's strategies, marketing tactics.In beginning , I visited neighborhood dealerships tried negotiations, but was worthless.Dealers makes most of the money by selling you financing through them, by selling extended warranty , GAP insurance and selling(forcefully selling) accessories. I have seen dealers charge anywhere from $500 to $1000 just for aftermarket alarm security system. After you buy car you can get this system fitted in your cars for way less money. They try to sell you wax polish packages, now a days factory paintings is so state of the art, I personally dont think it is important, at least not at expensive price from dealerships. Their GAP insurance is always very expensive, I got one through my Auto insurance provider for $15 per 6 month. Anyways if you still want few useful genuine Honda (factory) accessories, you can always buy them later from any dealerships at discounted prices later, look for coupons on their websites under specials. Or just send emails to parts departments get quotations, ask for discount, and compare quotes.Most of the dealerships want you to invite you to store instead of giving you upfront quotation by using their marketing tactics , please don't fall to their tricks , be a strong buyer, your goal should be save your hard earned money. They try to focus on monthly payment, instead you should tell them I am focusing only on sales price nothing else, do your monthly car payment calculations on google.My advise to potential buyers:When I decided I want to buy 2016 Accord EX with HS , what I did is went on autotrader.com, cars.com and carsdirect.com entered the car, trim level and color I am looking for. I searched for 200 miles radius around my residential zip code. I found as many as apx. 50+ cars were in stock at different dealerships in Orange, San Diego , LA , San Bernardino and Riverside counties.Then I sent emails/messages to all these dealers through cars.com and asked them about my target price.I started getting email replies to my inbox within few hours. Few dealerships sent me there internet pricing with there terms and condition in smallest fond size. I went and visited one of the dealership which is about 40 miles away from home, found out they were playing games, when I went there they told me they did a mistake and accidentally quoted me different car, then finally agreed to honor the quote of $23500 but at condition to finance through them (Honda Financing) at ridiculously higher Interest rate, obviously I walked out of the dealership.Then I came home and emailed these dealerships who had this particular car in stock, about written quote with OTD pricing on it, clearly told them I will not buy any extras. I got 3-4 competitive quotes around $26300 OTD (~$24000+ tax and dmv) pricing in writing.So on Monday 12/28/2015 I drove into one of the dealership who gave me $24000+ tax and Dmv quote.Car had 2 miles on it, test drove it for 1 mile. Saw sticker had $995 alarm system added on it, told clearly to salesman that I am not gonna buy any extras. He said he will not change his words and there will be no surprises. Went inside after test drive. He printed the numbers on paper. The price he presented was exactly same as we agreed through email conversation. I signed the papers and option contract paid my down-payment through card. I reached at dealership at 7 pm and I was out with my brand new car at 8 pm.

The 2016 Honda Accord V6 is an exceptional car that offers a solid driving experience and very few deficiencies. The Honda Sensing package is a group of safety enhancements that includes radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. The radar cruise control is truly amazing, and I often find myself using this function for commuting as it will brake and speed up all on its own in accordance with traffic conditions. The lane departure is a good feature, but it can be easily confused with bad pavement, although it is still helpful to have. The forward collision warning is sensitive, but it is also very helpful. Finally, the Honda Lanewatch is not very useful, but I still use it occasionally on the highway to switch lanes. The interior is very comfortable for four people, and the black leather interior is of good quality. The navigation system is based on Garmin, which is known for making the best navigation systems. Apple Car Play is really helpful and cool, and the ability to text without typing or having to touch the phone is a huge benefit. Plus, being able to access Siri at a touch of a button is amazing. The V6 is strong when called upon with a sweet sound that reminds me of an NSX from my days of playing Gran Turismo on the PS3. During times when power isn't required, the engine is quiet and doesn't make itself known except at partial throttle at low RPM, when there is a little shutter from what I assume is the engine operating on 3 cylinders. I am getting around 34mpg on the highway and around 22mpg around town, with a very heavy right foot.

Dear all potential Honda Buyers and Honda Victims, I am writing to share my experience with you in the hope of protecting other customers. On December 30th, 2015, I purchased two brand new Hondas from Hoffman Honda in Connecticut (40 Albany Turnpike, West Simsbury, CT 06092). The Sales representative, Alan Katz, was very helpful. I bought a Honda CRV EX edition for my wife and a Honda Accord Coupe Touring Edition for myself (VIN: 1HGCT2B00GA001393). I work in a rural area in Southwest VA and used my Accord there for 5 months from January 2016 till May 2016 without any problem. The closest Honda dealer to me is Bill Cole Honda (http://www.billcoleautomall.com/, Big Laruel Highway, Princeton WV 24739, United States) where I did my oil change. However, in May 2016, the check engine light started showing up for 10-15 minutes and then disappeared. This kept happening for two months. In July, it showed for three full days and I drove for 3 hours to go to the Bill Cole Honda. Then it disappeared. They told me the car was perfect. Two weeks later, it happened again and it was consistent. It was on when I went to the dealership. They tried everything to figure out what was going on. Everything showed okay, including the oxygen sensor, vacuum lines, etc. They finally told me it could be the engine plastic cover (as the error showed at this time “Air Flow Problem”). They told me that it could have been the loose engine cover. They reset the software and let me go. I really wondered how a brand new car could have a loose engine cover, but I let it go. Then in a month, it started to show again, and it was consistent. Again, I had the three-hour trip to the dealership.At this time, the mechanic suggested that the issue could be related to the gas, despite the fact that you use premium gas (which can be proven through your credit card statements). They charged you $700 to drain the tanks and lines, claiming that it was your fault. You agreed to pay if it was indeed a gas problem. However, after resetting the software, the check engine light reappeared with no new gas added. You then filed a claim with Honda Headquarters (Case ID: 05223195, Ext. 117754, Agent: Sharon) and went back to the dealership. The dealership reset the software again, but the issue persisted. Sharon from Honda Headquarters was not helpful and closed your case without resolving the issue. After multiple calls and complaints, the case was reopened and Honda asked you to drop off the car again. The dealership was unable to fix the issue and offered you a rental car free of charge. Eventually, Honda declined to send an expert and claimed that the car was perfect. The maintenance guy, who has 27 years of experience with Honda, suggested that it's better to take a small loss now than a big loss later. I've had this car for just over a month now and unfortunately, there's been a fluttering noise coming from the driver's side window that's been quite bothersome. Despite multiple visits to the dealership, the issue still persists, which has been quite frustrating. Although Honda has acknowledged the problem, they have been unable to fix it and have not offered a loaner car while my brand new car is in the shop at least once a week. While I've owned three Accords before this one, I must say I'm disappointed in Honda. On the bright side, the car has great mileage and I haven't experienced any major mechanical issues.

I drive a lot to get to work and have owned about 9 or 10 different cars, mostly Honda's or Acura's. I tend to be pretty critical of vehicles, but overall, I'd say the 2016 Accord EX (no leather or Honda Sense) is a solid B-. The handling is good, with not too much body roll and the car goes where I point it. However, I would prefer slightly faster biting brakes. The ride quality is decent, but it's not as smooth as some professional car reviewers say. Perhaps it's only the higher-end trims or the V6 with this supposed smooth ride, but my Accord rides firm and you feel most bumps. I also noticed that it doesn't deal well with road undulations, and the landing coming back down is abrupt. The vehicle's quietness is very good overall, with wind and road noise generally well controlled. However, there is some noticeable drone and vibration from the CVT, and there are some squeaking sounds on interior panels when driving over certain coarse surfaces. On the bright side, fuel economy is fantastic, and I'm averaging 31mpg in mixed driving on regular. The stereo and infotainment are pretty good quality for the class, and I really like the Apple Carplay feature.

The 2016 Accord EX-L is a great car for short trips and driving around town. However, at speeds over 60 miles/hour, the wind and road noise can be quite loud, which can be uncomfortable. Additionally, the top of the dashboard can get very hot when the sun is shining, which can be bothersome. Despite these issues, the car has been very reliable and performs like new even after 1 year and 4 months.

After driving my old six-speed manual Honda Accord Coupe for over 260,000 miles, I decided it was time for a new ride. I tested some of the competing companies offering similarly reliable mid-size sedans (Toyota, Subaru), but ultimately decided to stick with Honda. My old 2004 Accord treated me very well, and Honda has proven to be an incredibly reliable car manufacturer. When I started looking into what model I'd be interested in and could afford, I realized that my choices were limited, given that I insisted on getting another 6-speed manual, which they don't make at any model above the EX. I went with the EX, even though I could easily do without some of the I completely agree that having a volume knob would be much more convenient than having to tap the volume space on the touch screen. The same goes for navigating through the various apps within the central entertainment system, like Sirius Radio. Having everything touchscreen can be distracting and frustrating, as you have to touch the screen in the exact correct position or risk hitting something you hadn't desired to hit. I also prefer a knob to turn rather than having to tap my fingers on a screen when scanning radio stations or wishing to turn the volume up or down. It's confusing, annoying and incredibly frustrating. I have the exact same gripe about the climate control system--Honda has apparently done away with the actual knobs to adjust the cool air/heat, and has replaced them with buttons. So, rather than have the control set all the way to the I recently downgraded to a 4-cylinder from my 6-speed V6 coupe and was expecting a drop in acceleration. However, I have noticed that this car is slower than I anticipated. I have had to adjust the way I drive, including the gear I'm in and when I shift, to accommodate for the vehicle's sluggish acceleration. Additionally, the car doesn't shift smoothly when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd or from 2nd to 1st unless the car is almost at a dead stop. Shifting into reverse is also not smooth, as the car has to be at a dead stop to shift into reverse at all. It could be that the car is still getting
