UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-18
- VIN: KMTF54PH3MU
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: The vehicle started smoking and stalled out Aug 18,2023. The vehicle starting shaking then I parked it for about two (2) hours. When I tried to crank vehicle again it wouldn’t crank. I attempted to complete diagnostic test but the vehicle wouldn’t remain on. I contacted dealership I purchased it from. They order a tow to be brought in. The dealership repair shop for about 3 weeks didn’t know what happened. The change filters and oil change but it still was stalling.
TIRES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-09-08
- VIN: KMTF34PA9MU
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: This is not about a tire failure but rather dangerous mis sizing of tires from factory.I bought the car new. It was never in an accident or had a flat tire and did not have service call until this week at 13000 or so miles.the service included tire rotation and balance, but the service man called and said he wasn’t going to do it because the driver rear tire was the wrong size!!!! It was supposed to be 275/40 R19 101W but was 245/45R19 98W. The two front tires are 245’s as they should be but BOTH rears are supposed to be the 275’s! Clearly this affects handling, wear, stability etc. I’m a very careful driver but someone less careful could roll over on a fast corner turn! How many more Hyundai/ Genesis tires are mis sized? No one checks that when you buy a car!

I have owned six Lexus vehicles and a Kia K900, but the Genesis is by far superior for the money and tops the others in all respects. I have had it for about five years and have only experienced one problem with the brakes locking. I have now had my G90 for three years and have had zero problems. In fact, it is one of the best cars I have ever owned, and I have owned about twenty-five cars. I find this Genesis to be overall better than a comparable Lexus vehicle, which would cost about $25,000 more. If you are considering buying a Genesis, I highly recommend that you do so. I hope you will not be disappointed.

After reading negative reviews of the then forthcoming Lexus 500 LS, I decided to consider replacing my 460 LS with the G90 instead of getting another LS (which would have been my fourth). Due to the beginning of Covid, I could only find a 2019 version for my test drive. Nevertheless, it blew me away! I wasn't expecting the heads-up display, which is what first caught my attention. The self-driving aspects of the car were intuitive and easy to change, and the ride was smooth and fast, even better than my 2017 LS. So, I purchased the 2020 AWD version. I have now driven the car for a year and still marvel at how much I enjoy it. On my drives from Texas to Colorado, which takes about 11 hours, it is great to be able to just put a hand on the wheel and have the car largely drive itself. The Lexicon sound system is better than the Mark Levinson systems in the Lexus. The car is faster and smoother than the Lexus. Although the dealership experience is not as good, the car is soooo enjoyable and reasonably priced. This is the best car I have ever owned, and I love it! Updated 4/20: The car still drives great, but the electronic add-ins leave something to be desired. My dealer tells me I can no longer get weather forecasts because I do not subscribe to Sirius. Genesis says that is not the case at all. Also, except when you are in a large city, the weather, gasoline price, and other data are unavailable. Genesis should work out their problems getting this information to the driver. Other brands can do it. 4/23: Still a great car. It has been reliable. My only complaint is still the lack of information in rural areas.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with the car I recently purchased. I noticed that when driving at speeds above 35 mph, the ride was a bit bumpy and the steering wheel and front seats were shaking. I took the car back to the dealer and unfortunately, there was a bit of miscommunication. The dealer had let out 5 lbs of air from the tires, which actually made the ride considerably better. However, the car manual called for about 35-36 lbs. of air and the dealer had lowered it to 32 lb. They tried to convince me that 32 was the proper amount and that I shouldn't pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions. I appreciate their effort to help, but I decided to return the car and look for something that better suits my needs. Thank you for your time and understanding.

I've only had it for a week, but I absolutely love the ride and the abundance of luxury it offers! Everyone at work has been complimenting it, which is great. Learning the many features wasn't too hard either. As for reliability, I can't confidently speak on that just yet.

I have experienced poor customer service, particularly from Lisa in the case department (case #16737287). In the past, I have had to change the front tires three times within 8000 miles, resulting in significant delays. Based on my experience, I would advise against purchasing this car. However, I regret my decision to buy it.
