The Ford E-Series (also known as the Ford Econoline, Ford Econovan or Ford Club Wagon) is a range of full-size vans manufactured and marketed by the Ford Motor Company. Introduced for 1961 as the replacement of the Ford F-Series panel van, four generations of the model line have been produced. Marketed for both cargo and passenger transport configurations, the E-Series has been designed with multiple design variations for both retail and commercial sale, including vans, and commercial-grade cutaway van chassis and stripped chassis (a chassis without bodywork).

With over 8.2 million units sold since 1961, the Ford E-Series is the third-best selling van line in history (outranked only by the Ford Transit and Volkswagen Transporter). Ford retired the E-Series passenger and cargo vans after 2014, replacing them with the Ford Transit. As of current production, the E-Series remains offered exclusively in cutaway and stripped-chassis configurations. In 2021, the model line entered its 60th year of production (becoming the second current Ford line to do so).

The E-Series (cutaway/stripped chassis) is assembled by Ford at its Ohio Assembly facility (Avon Lake, Ohio), which has produced the model line since 1975. Prior to its closure, Lorain Assembly (Lorain, Ohio) assembled the model line from 1961 to 2005.

Negative 1996 Ford E-350 car reviews

  1. Karl Bruen 2024-10-29

Great van for a family and business.

  2. Hipolito Herzog 2024-08-29

Hey there! I got this van specifically for long trips. I live in Florida and often travel back to my hometown in Michigan. This van has a lot of power and was even used to move my brother to Florida, pulling a loaded 5x8 enclosed trailer several times.

Positive 1996 Ford E-350 car reviews

  1. Jamir Legros 2024-11-21

I really enjoy my van, but I do have a couple of minor issues with it. One is that there are only four drink holders in a vehicle that can carry up to 12 passengers, and three of them are located up front for the driver and front passenger. Additionally, the seat belts for the center passenger seats tend to fall through the slots in the seats and can be difficult to retrieve. Despite these minor issues, I still love my van!

  2. Ephraim Feeney 2024-09-04

This van is perfect for our family! It can do it all - from hauling 15 people to carrying 8 people and 8 bicycles, or even transforming into a cozy camper for our family of 5 with a queen size mattress and 2 large coolers in the back. With just a few quick release seat locks, we can easily switch between configurations. And even with 230,000 miles, it's still running strong! The super duty capabilities of this van are truly impressive.

  3. Nels Quitzon 2024-07-26

I've been hauling my family and various trailers for 17 years, and I can confidently say that the comfort of the four captain's chairs and fold-down bed/third-row bench seat is unmatched. Despite having a new crew cab pickup, my family still prefers the club wagon for its exceptional comfort. In terms of reliability, I've only experienced a radiator failure (due to towing in 105+ degree weather), but other than that, it has been outstanding. Even after 17 years, the paint and interior are still in excellent condition.

  4. Jennings Walker 2024-07-06

Great vehicle! It has already clocked 220,000 miles and is still going strong. I only had to change the fuel pump at 80,000 miles, and at 215,000 miles, the alternator and air pump needed replacement. That's pretty impressive, don't you think? It has a 6-cylinder engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission (C6). Although it started at 19 MPG, I am now getting 13-15 MPG.

  5. Trent Haag 2024-07-03

384,000 miles on 7.3 turbo diesel. With regular maintenance these trucks are extremely dependable. I have had no major problems with the engine or transmission. I did have to rebuild the rear-end at 300,000 miles, but that's to be expected with heavy loads. It always averages 20+ mpg on the highway.
