C-Max Mk I was the first product to use the Ford C1 platform, also used by the Ford Focus Mk II and the compact MPV Premacy/Mazda5. Its internal code name is C214.
It seats five passengers and has a large amount of cargo space, which can be increased by folding the rear seats flat. Some models feature diagonally sliding outer rear seats. It also shares the control blade independent rear suspension from the Focus.

The Ford C-Max Energi is a fantastic and cost-effective car. It boasts incredible fuel economy, especially for those with short commutes. The car's all-electric range is advertised at 19 miles, but I have been able to achieve up to 30 all-electric miles on occasion, with a more common range of 23-25 miles. In colder weather, the all-electric range is reduced to the mid to high teens due to battery performance. The gasoline hybrid mode also consistently outperforms advertised mileage, with typical ranges of 41-46 mpg. The C-Max is also impressively powerful, with quick acceleration and the ability to reach highway speeds in around 7 seconds. The dash display is visually refined and provides helpful performance metrics. While the PHEV battery takes up half of the trunk, limiting cargo space, and the turning radius is not ideal, I still highly recommend this car for its cost-effectiveness and impressive performance.

I absolutely love my C-Max Energi! After owning an Infiniti, it's such a relief not to spend a fortune on gasoline. I'm saving approximately $300 a month and getting around 65 miles per gallon. The seats in the C-Max are incredibly comfortable and the car itself is very quiet. I'm so glad I made the switch! Plus, I got some great upgrades like lumbar support, heated seats, and a keyless system. :)

The C-Maxi Energi is a fantastic car! It has a smooth ride and is incredibly comfortable. The handling and performance are both excellent. In real-world driving, you can expect to get an impressive 41 mpg. While the high cost of replacement parts for the C-Max is a downside, there's still so much to love about this car. It's a shame that Ford has decided to stop producing them after this model year. We recently spent our first cold winter with the C-Max (we usually spend winters in warm weather), and we found that the electric range was reduced to 18 miles when fully charged. However, using the motor only in cold weather can help save the battery for later use, as using electric only can drain the battery quickly due to the heater and seat warmers.

Handles very well. The acceleration is excellent. The ride and comfort are also excellent, with minimal noise. The front seats are comfortable. Although it could use a bit more cargo space, overall it's a great car!
