PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT THE IGNITION WAS NOT ON, THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING, AND THE VEHICLE HAD NOT RAN FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK. THERE WERE NO FLAMES, JUST A SMOKING AND MELTING. THE LOCATION OF THIS IS DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE DRIVER UNDER THE HOOD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. AFTER THE OWNER NOTICED THE SMOKING AND MELTING, THERE WASN'T REALLY A FIRE, OWNER JUST HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC REPAIRED THE ENTIRE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND A SENSOR. - Summary: DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THAT T 1995 FORD BRONCO CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNT ON JULY 14, 2005. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT ONE HOUR AND A HALF. THE DRIVER HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND AND SAW SMOKE, THE SMOKE HAD FILLED THE INTER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OPENED THE HOOD, AND THE TRUCK HAD FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE LEFT HAND PORTION OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE DRIVER. THE WEEK BEFORE THE OWNERS WERE ON A TRIP AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK IN THE VEHICLE. THEY ONLY DISCOVERED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK LAST WEEK. PRIOR TO THIS, THE VEHICLE HAD NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT REGULARLY MAINTAINED. THERE IS A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THERE ARE NO PICTURES FROM AFTER THE FIRE AT THE LOCATION, BUT THE OWNER IS GOING TO TAKE PICTURES TODAY. THE TRUCK HAS ALREADY BEEN MOVED FROM THE ORIGINAL LOCATION. - Summary: I BOUGHT MY 1995 BRONCO NEW FROM ACADEMY FORD IN LAUREL MD. I HAVE KEPT UP ALL MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTY REPAIRS. A FEW DAYS AGO IN MID APRIL 2005 I NOTICED SOME CORROSION ON THE REAR SPRING SHACKLE BRACKETS. I INSPECTED THE BRACKET CLOSER AND FOUND THAT THE BRACKETS HAD ORIGINALLY BEEN PAINTED WITH A HEAVY COAT OF BLACK PAINT. UNDER THIS BLACK PAINT ON ALL THE BRACKETS CORROSION HAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE INTEGRITY OF THE BRACKET. LARGE FLAKES OF RUSTED METAL ABOUT 1/16" THICK CAME OFF IN MY HAND. I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH OF THE BRACKET METAL IS LEFT. AS SOON AS I ASCERTAINED THE EXTENT OF THE CORROSION I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE SITUATION ASSESSED BY MY LOCAL FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT. MY CONCERN IS THAT THESE CRITICAL BRACKETS SHOULD NEVER HAVE RUSTED TO A STATE OF COMPLETE DECAY . THESE BRACKETS HOLD THE REAR LEAF SPRINGS TO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. SHOULD THEY FAIL DUE TO CORROSION I FEEL THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD UNDOUBTABLELY BE CATASTROPHIC. *AK THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECTED TO ANY UNDUE TREATMENT. I DO NOT PULL TRAILERS OR PLOW SNOW OR ANY OTHER CONDITIONS WHICH MIGHT CAUSE UNDUE STRESSES TO THE VEHICLE'S FRAME. I WAS VERY CAREFUL IN WINTER TO WASH OFF ANY ROAD SALTS OR SANDS THAT COULD ACCELERATE CORROSION. BUT MY BEST EFFORTS TO PROLONG THE VEHICLES LIFETIME ARE THWARTED BY A PROCESS THAT DID NOT PROTECT A CRITCAL BRACKET WHOSE FAILURE IS EMMINENT. THE BRONCO IS A FINE VEHICLE, I'VE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS THAT SEEMED REASONABLE FOR ME TO FIX, BUT THE CORROSION TO THE REAR SPRING SHACKEL BRACKETS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THESE BRACKETS MIGHT OVER THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE SHOW SOME SURFACE RUST BUT NOT TO BE CORRODED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE.*AK

I NARROWLY ESCAPED COLLIDING WITH ANOTHER CAR AND THE FREEWAY WALL. I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE STOP. I TOOK THE BRONCO TO FORD. THEY SAID THE FRAME TWISTED AND BROKE. I AM NOT HUGE! ABOUT 240 LBS. THEY CHARGED ME $350.00 TO FIX IT. I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT IT AT THE TIME, BUT IN 1997 I WAS REAR ENDED AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE SEAT AT THAT TIME. IT COMPLETELY COLLAPSED RENDERING THE AIR-BAG AND SEAT BELT INEFFECTIVE. A NEW SEAT WAS PUT IN AT THAT TIME. SO THIS SEAT IS ONLY ABOUT 6 YEARS OLD. - Summary: CERTAIN PRO-A MOTORS CORNER LAMPS, TURN SIGNALS, AND HEADLIGHTS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT LAMPS FOR USE ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. SOME COMBINATION LAMPS THAT ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.
- Consequence: WITHOUT THE AMBER REFLECTORS, THE VEHICLE WILL BE POORLY ILLUMINATED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
- Remedy: PRO-A MOTORS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE THE LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 3, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PRO-A MOTORS AT 323-838-2988.

OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THEIR SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATED ARE BEING NOTIFIED THAT PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE AND ADVISED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO RECONNECT THE SPEED CONTROL BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY 2006. OWNERS WHO DID NOT HAVE THEIR SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATED ARE BEING NOTIFIED TO HAVE THEIR SYSTEM REMEDIED BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY 2006. Great Truck!!! I completely agree, it's hard to find anything to complain about. While the fuel economy may not be the best, it's important to remember that it's a 5000lbs truck with a 351 engine! The performance is outstanding and it's one of the most enjoyable vehicles I've ever been in. The turning radius is amazing and the front seats are both roomy and comfortable. While I can't speak to the back seat, the removable top makes it perfect for summer driving. Whether you're towing, off-roading, or just using it as a daily driver, this truck is fantastic!

I have owned both new and used SUV's in my time, but this truck is by far the best. It has lots of room, great looks, a VERY solid feel, and nice off-road handling. The only downside to it at all is the horrible gas mileage.

I absolutely love this truck! It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I would buy plenty more. However, I do wish that it got better gas mileage. But the little gas mileage is worth all the excitement that you get when you drive this truck. You can't find a smoother riding 4x4, and you can't find a better digging 4x4. Everything about it is so wonderful that they should bring them back and everybody should own one!

I've had this truck for almost a year now, and it's been wonderful! With 149,000 miles on it, I was worried about potential problems, but I haven't had any so far. The only issue is some rust on the tailgate and door, but overall it's a great car.

I have a 1995 5.0 v8 automatic Bronco (in blue) with 125k miles and have had it for three years and was my fathers since 2001. I love it, but there are ALWAYS problems with it. I would get rid of it if it werent my baby, i guess its like people and their BMWs. Its had the tranmission rebuilt, the fuel pump has gone out several times, the heater core has gone out the last two years in a row, my motor mounts loosened causing both front and rear u-joints to go bad, the a/c system has been replaced, and most recently, there is a strong gasoline odor when I accelerate. Also, when it rains all sorts of problems occur, such as my airbag light blinking and the door ding noise gets elongated.
