- Summary: I recently only had my 2012 dodge caliber for a year now and out of that year it’s been giving me problems since I had it! The car had completely shut down on me for weeks while I was in the process of burying my father in law who gave me Covid after he passed. Weeks later we ended up figuring out what the issue was which was the tipm. I remember having to tap the battery with a wire for it to start and it didn’t matter what the weather looked like. Well that didn’t last long because it broke down on me again after I’ve replaced almost everything there was under the hood; the battery, the alternator, the fuses to the tipm and relay, the brake light switch, the ignition switch and all the fuses. Now here it is I’m making a car payment and still paying insurance for a vehicle I haven’t driven in months. I ended up researching this car and I see these cars are not reliable and I wish I would have known especially with two small children I already have! I recently read that this vehicle was in a dealer auction but never was told why; not once but twice actually. I despise these cars if I knew what I know now I would of never got this vehicle. I still owe 5grand on this car at that so I’m right back at square one but this go round got two extra bills that I waste money in

- Summary: Lately I have noticed a wobble when I drive on the highway. Saturday, 07/24/2021, I took my 2012 Dodge Caliber with only 74,753 miles on it to the mechanics for an alignment, rotation and weight balance on the car. This is not my first time at the mechanics and they had seen the car in the Summer of 2020 and for inspection November of 2020. The mechanics then took me in to see the car after it was up on the lift which is never a good thing. There is a gaping rusted hole in the frame, I did not think to take a picture but I should have. I have been searching online and found a site listing over 70 reports of rusted frames on Dodge Caliber and all reports state this is not covered under warranty or the warranty expired. https://www.carproblemzoo.com/dodge/caliber/frame-rust-problems2.php based on the amount of issues, some even reporting wrecking with a complete loss, this should be a Safety Recall. As it is the mechanic has given me a starting estimate of $1800 but based on other people's reports they were charged $2k-3k for repairs. I will be contacting Chrysler/Dodge on Monday as I do not relish the thought of this level of repair financially for something that should be built to last 100+k miles!

- Components: SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONER
- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Chrysler 200, 2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2010-2012 Dodge Caliber and 2010-2014 Jeep Patriot, Compass and Dodge Avenger vehicles. The Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module may short circuit, preventing the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags from deploying in the event of a crash.
- Consequence: If the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a vehicle crash that necessitates deployment of these safety systems.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the OCR, free of charge. Interim letters informing owners that parts are not available yet were mailed on October 26, 2016. The recall began on August 15, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S61.

First of all, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love my car more and more every day! I had previously owned an '05 Trailblazer LT 4*4, which I also loved, but unfortunately, it only got 13 mpg with 62,000 miles on it. When I found the Caliber, I was thrilled! It's a beautiful red color with red insert seats, a sunroof, and 18-inch wheels. It handles great, drives smoothly, and I haven't had any problems with it. I bought it with only 8 miles on it, and now I have 429 miles. I can honestly say that I don't regret my choice at all!

Very nice car! Although there is a little bit of road noise, it's still not bad. I absolutely love the design!

This car was purchased in February 2011. After 3 months of owning the vehicle, I noticed rust, paint chips, and a weird diamond pattern on the rear window. Additionally, the car began to run rough.

This car has had several issues since I purchased it. Firstly, there was a problem with rainwater coming through the sunroof. Despite Dodge's initial denial of the issue, I was able to find evidence of it online and eventually got it fixed after 3 months. Secondly, the check engine light kept coming on, but after some persistence, I was able to identify and fix the problem. Finally, the suspension system rusted out prematurely after 12 years and 98,000 miles. Fortunately, I was able to get it to the repair shop in time before any serious damage was done. Although I have had a difficult experience with this car, I am grateful that I was able to identify and fix the issues before any serious harm was done. While I would not purchase another Dodge Caliber, I am thankful that they are no longer being made.

It's important to note that some Dodge Calibers have a problem with leaking. Unfortunately, Dodge is currently not offering a fix for this issue, and it's not being recalled. It's a shame that dealerships are aware of this problem and still sell them to unsuspecting customers. If you're considering purchasing a Dodge Caliber, it's best to avoid it, regardless of the year. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, as you may end up with water damage in various parts of the car, including the floors, seats, roof, and rearview mirror. These issues are common among Dodge Calibers.

Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that I'm currently renting a brand new vehicle from Enterprise with less than 1000 miles on it while my primary daily driver is in the body shop. Unfortunately, my experience with Caliber hasn't been the best. Although the car looks alright, it seems to be poorly assembled. It's quite noisy, the gearbox is a bit lame, and there is even glue coming out of the shift lever. Additionally, I've noticed that the rear hatch requires a bit of force to close and the passenger door is slightly out of alignment. Just wanted to give you a heads up!
