I bought this car for my daughter in 2010 when it had about 30K miles on it. She commutes 1.5 hours on the highway every day to school, so I needed a car that was fuel-efficient, safe, and reliable. The price was amazing at just $10K, and this car has exceeded my expectations. With over 90K miles on it, all I've had to do is regular maintenance like oil changes, belt replacements, tire changes, and brake jobs. It has handled tough weather conditions with ease and kept my daughter safe during two accidents caused by other drivers. For the price, it's been a real gem. Update: I sold it for book value with over 160K miles on it. I am extremely satisfied with this car and would highly recommend it to others.

I love this car! It's so much fun to drive, and I can even fit my 9 ft surf board in it. The fuel economy is great too! However, I did find that the maintenance can be a bit expensive. For example, the 60,000 mile service requires a special kind of transmission fluid that can only be done at the dealership, which costs over $650. Additionally, the Caliber has an odd tire size, so I had to spend over $900 on new tires. Despite these costs, I plan to keep the car for a while. I just wasn't expecting such large expenses for routine maintenance on a non-luxury vehicle.

Cash for Clunkers was such a huge help! I was finally able to get rid of my 90 Ford Aerostar just in time. During the first week of owning my new car, I loaded it up and drove my oldest to college. After a year of ownership, I've dealt with a couple of huge snow storms. At one point, I had driven into snow so deep that from the windshield forward was under snow. But, I dug out the front wheels and backed right out! The daily driving is so much fun. I travel back roads to work that have hills and turns, and this little 5-speed with a 1.8l engine sticks to the road and is quite enjoyable. I absolutely love the features, and it is such a great car!

The engine may have felt a bit weak below 2000 rpm at first, but after driving a few thousand miles, it has really come into its own. Now, at 6000 rpm, it performs admirably for a small engine. As a tall person, I appreciate being able to adjust the seat up a notch or two, and overall, I find this car/wagon/whatever to be quite comfortable. The handling is excellent, with a very short turning radius. Initially, I had some doubts about my purchase, but now I am very happy with it. While the mileage could be better, it's worth noting that you do need to rev the engine to get the best performance, and the cruising rpm is higher than in other cars. Perhaps the 2.0 engine would have been a better choice, but I'm still satisfied with my decision.

I've owned my Caliber R/T for a decade now, and it has been a reliable vehicle overall. Like a few others, I had to replace the ball joints around 50,000 miles, and I've replaced the battery twice, tires numerous times, and the master and slave cylinder for the transmission. However, I've never regretted buying it, even with the expense of repairs. Any car that's 10 years old will need repairs sooner or later. Despite this, it's been the most economical and dependable car I've ever owned. It has never let me down and has always gotten me where I needed to be. When I found the Caliber, I was looking for an economical car. Many people advised me against buying it, but I bought it anyway and have never regretted it. Perhaps I was lucky, or maybe I found the only decent Caliber out there. I like to think that I took care of her, and she took care of me.

The '08 Dodge Caliber has proven to be an unreliable vehicle for me. Despite spending almost two thousand pounds on repairs since purchasing it in August 2014, I have had to replace the clutch, three starters, buy a new battery, and have had countless issues with the axle and tires. While it is comfortable and drives well, the mechanical issues have made it not worth the investment.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my Caliber. Unfortunately, after two weeks of riding it, I began to experience some consistent problems with the tires and some clanging noises. I took it to the dealer a few times and they were able to fix the problem, but it ended up happening again a few months later. I'm just wondering if I happened to purchase the only defective 2010 model on the lot. Have you had any similar experiences?

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my experience with my car. I purchased it with 27,000 miles and have since put just under 52,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, the transmission recently failed and I discovered that the warranty had expired at 36,000 miles. I wanted to give you a heads up in case you are considering purchasing a similar car. It's frustrating to think about paying for an extended warranty when the product being sold may not be reliable. Thank you for taking the time to read my message.

I really like the exterior of the car, but unfortunately, the interior is a bit of a letdown. The car has manual locks and windows, which makes it feel a bit cheap. Although we are big fans of Dodge, we had to buy this car in a hurry after our previous one broke down and was not worth repairing. We didn't have enough time to shop around, and this was the only hatchback available that looked good. The driving experience is decent, but not exceptional. However, if you have young children, I would recommend avoiding this car. The front passenger seat needs to be pulled forward and kept upright to fit a car seat, which can be quite uncomfortable. Overall, the car could benefit from some interior and engine improvements to make it truly nice.

Although we haven't had it for long, I'm disappointed with the gas mileage of the car. It only gets 20-25 mpg, which is lower than expected. Initially, we thought the gas handle was broken, and the company promised to fix it within 3 months. However, when we followed up, they said it would take another 3 months. Additionally, the car struggles to move in snow, and I even got stuck in my driveway. In comparison, my Buick had no issues. Unfortunately, the car has already broken down with only 6252 miles on it. If you were to ask me whether you should buy this car, I would suggest considering other options.
