The Dodge Caliber is a compact hatchback manufactured and marketed by Chrysler's Dodge division from the 2007 through 2012 model years, replacing the Dodge Neon and Chrysler PT Cruiser.
Following the Caliber concept, which debuted at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, the pre-production version debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, with a market launch in March 2006.
The Caliber was manufactured at the Belvidere Assembly (Illinois) plant, and across its six-year model run, just over 400,000 were produced.

These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. I've owned my Caliber for about 4 years now and it has been completely dependable. It handles well in bad weather and rugged terrain such as gravel, mud, and unpaved roads. The engine is quiet and the car is well-insulated from outside noise, which is great when I'm using my Bluetooth. The stereo system is surprisingly good for a stock system. My husband even drove this car across the country in the middle of summer with no issues. However, it does have some downsides. It lacks acceleration when the AC or heat is on, and it's a bit small for my family of 2 kids and 2 dogs. Nonetheless, its compact size has its advantages. It's too bad that 2012 is the last model, as it's a great little car.

I purchased my 2009 Dodge Caliper SXT in the winter of 2017 and have loved it ever since. Although there were a few stains on the interior, they were not too bad. The interior could be more comfortable, but that's just a minor issue. The biggest problem I faced was with the transmission (keep reading). During a trip to Saginaw, MI, about 40 minutes into driving, my transmission overheated and the trip became horrible. I thought I was in trouble, but then I talked to a friend who was great. I bought a transmission cooler for about $37 on eBay and new transmission fluid, and my buddy did all of this for me. It cost me around $450, but it was worth it. I drove to Lansing, which is about an hour and 30 minutes away, and it worked great! I had absolutely no issues there or back. I was so happy that I recently took a trip to Sandusky, Ohio (a 2 hour and 30 minute drive) and had no problems again. If you are facing the same issue, please give this a try. It worked wonders for me, and I have seen nothing online about this

I think the inside of the car is a little too compact, which makes me feel squished while driving. It would be great if the back seat cup holders could retract in and out so that a third person can sit in the back comfortably. However, I still love the car, especially because it is so great on gas. I did experience a bit of trouble one night when my headlights turned off completely when I turned on my turn signals. It was a bit scary, but it only happened once. Additionally, when I had the heat and radio on that night, the whole console got extremely hot to touch. Overall, it's a great car though!

I chose the Caliber SXT a/t w/2.0 CVT after test driving four different models over the course of two months. The total rebates offered were a major factor in my decision, and I was thrilled to find that my shiny Red Caliber was at least 20% less expensive than comparable models that met my needs. The car has plenty of power to handle the mountainous terrain where I live, and it's quick enough to pass other vehicles safely on two-lane roads. Whether I'm driving at 25 or 45 mph, the ride is comfortable and stress-free, with a smooth, almost cushy feel. Even at 70 mph on busy interstate highways, the car handles beautifully. And with its ample storage space, I can easily fit all of my gear - boxes, cases, amps, guitars, keyboards, drums, and even an upright bass! My wife loves driving it too.

I purchased a new caliber on Sunday, but unfortunately it broke down on the first Thursday. After having it towed to the dealer, they informed me that it was a battery issue. They charged the battery and returned the car to me on Friday, but to my dismay, the car died again when I drove it to the store on Monday. I took it back to the dealer, but they were unable to find any issues. Despite this, I remain confident that the issue will be resolved and I will be able to enjoy my new car soon.

I have had the opportunity to drive the Caliber. While it may not be the best car on the market, it is certainly an improvement from the cars made in the 1980s. However, it may not be the best option for those who enjoy driving. If you are looking for a decent commuter car for highway driving, it could be a good choice, especially if you can get a good deal. If you are interested in other options, my personal favorite affordable hatches are the Hyundai Elantra Touring and the Mazda 3. They are both great cars that you may want to consider.

I had a less than ideal experience with the car I purchased. While driving in the mountains or on the highway for an extended period of time, the transmission tends to overheat, but I have not experienced this issue while driving in the city. The acceleration is not very responsive and requires holding the pedal down for a longer period of time to reach higher speeds. The car can be quite noisy due to the creaky suspension, wind noise, and poor sound insulation. The steering can feel loose, especially at higher speeds, and the car can be bumpy on uneven roads. I did have to replace some parts, such as the subframe and alternator, but fortunately, some of these were covered by a recall. Overall, the car requires more effort to drive than I would prefer.
