The Chevrolet Cruze is a compact car that has been produced by General Motors since 2008. It was designated as a globally developed, designed, and manufactured four-door compact sedan, complemented by a five-door hatchback body variant from 2011, and a station wagon in 2012. The Cruze was released in 2008 for the South Korean market as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere until the phasing out of the Daewoo brand in 2011, when it was renamed to Chevrolet Cruze. In Australasia, the model was sold between 2009 and 2016 as the Holden Cruze. In 2016, the Cruze sedan was restyled and renamed for the Australasian market as the Holden Astra Sedan, as a sedan complement to the Holden Astra family.
Due to the market shift towards SUVs and decreasing sales, the Cruze has been gradually phased out. Production of the Cruze in South Korea ended in 2018 as part of restructuring of GM Korea, which in turn ceased supply of the Holden Astra Sedan to Australasia. In the United States and Mexico, production ended in 2019, while production in China ended in 2020. Production continued in Argentina until 2023. It was replaced by the Monza in China, which is known as the Cavalier in Mexico.
Previously, the nameplate has been used for a version of a subcompact hatchback car produced under a joint venture with Suzuki from 2001 to 2007, and was based on the Suzuki Ignis.

Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
- Consequence: If the key is removed without the transmission in PARK, the vehicle may rollaway as occupants are exiting, increasing the risk of injury.

- Consequence: THE FUEL TANK COULD COME LOOSE IN A CRASH, POSSIBLY ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE TANK. A FUEL LEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
- Remedy: GM WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLE FOR MISSING WELDS. IF THE VEHICLE IS MISSING WELDS, DEALERS WILL SECURE THE BRACKET ATTACHMENTS WITH FASTENERS. I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with this car. After doing a lot of research, I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did! I'm not a 'hyper miler' by any means, but I've been getting great mileage - averaging 34 mpg since I got it. On a recent highway trip, I achieved 45 actual mpg even while driving at 75 mph! I can only imagine how much better my mileage would be if I drove more gently. The car is great both inside and out. The interior is phenomenal for the class and price, and the exterior is also very stylish. Thanks for listening!

I'm glad to hear that your '12 Cruze Eco has been treating you well! It's impressive that you've driven it all over the South and Midwest and it's still averaging 33.4 MPG, even with a lot of city driving. It's also great to hear that you've only had to take it in for routine and recall work, except for that one time when a deer ran out in front of you. I'm relieved to hear that you and the car came out of that incident unscathed. Although you had to spend a good chunk of change to repair the car, it's impressive that it was repairable to factory spec. Even though a piece of the 'Eco' system died a few months back and it cost you nearly $1,000 to fix, it's still performing admirably. It sounds like you've had a fantastic experience with the car so far, and I hope your next car treats you just as well!

Congratulations on your new car purchase! I noticed that you went through a thorough test driving process before deciding on the 2012 Cruze LS with the Connectivity Package. It's great to hear that the Cruze was the best option for you, especially when considering the value for your lease. The only downside you mentioned was the lack of cruise control on the LS model. In my humble opinion, this is the best compact car that GM has ever made. It has been 25 years since I last bought a Chevy compact, and I must say that I am impressed. A friend of mine, who owns a BMW 5 series, even asked if we could trade cars after driving it. The car is not only fun to drive, but it also looks contemporary and has outstanding features for the price. Additionally, it has been averaging over 34 MPG for the first 1,400 miles of mostly city driving, with the best 50 mile average being 47 MPG. The Eco 6M is one of the most sophisticated cars that GM makes, with virtually every aspect of the car optimized for MPG performance to make it lighter, more efficient, and more aerodynamic. These changes also improve handling. The only problem I have with the car is that my wife won't give it back after driving it for several weeks!!

I absolutely love my Cruze 2LT! I've owned several other car brands, including Acuras, Hondas, and Toyotas, but none of them compare to the Cruze. The interior is luxurious and the engineering is top-notch, providing a smooth and comfortable ride with plenty of power. Plus, it's incredibly fuel-efficient, getting an impressive 29-44 mpg. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase at this price point.

I'm driving this car because I was able to get a great lease deal on it. It's the 1LT model with an automatic transmission and has only 6500 miles on it after 7 months. Unfortunately, it's had some issues with the thermostat and the heater during the winter months. Additionally, there are some creaks and squeaks, especially with the driver's seat. However, it does have good gas mileage and performs well for an economy car. I opted for the convenience package which includes a car starter and backup sensors, both of which have been very useful. The back seat is a bit small, but the build quality is an improvement from previous Chevy models, although it's still not quite up to par with my VW. The satellite radio and Bluetooth phone connectivity are both great features. Overall, it's a decent car with some minor drawbacks.

Additionally, I've experienced some idling problems, such as chugging at red lights and drive-thrus. Despite visiting multiple dealerships, I haven't found a solution yet. I would caution others to consider these issues before making a purchase.

This car has had some issues, including electrical problems, numerous recalls, and a transmission that has trouble deciding which gear to be in. Additionally, the interior is not the most luxurious. However, I have taken care of it with regular oil changes using Mobile One fully synthetic oil every 5000 miles. Unfortunately, the turbo has now failed at only 56,000 miles. Despite these challenges, my daughter has been driving this car and we have been able to address the coolant leaks, including the water pump, thermostat housing, and hose fittings. Recently, my daughter traded this car in for a clean used Toyota 4Runner and was able to get $1500 for it, which she was proud of. The car had less than 80,000 miles on it.

This car has had some issues with repairs, including the water pump, radiator, oil pan, steering column, and battery cables, all of which were covered under warranty. While it performed well for the first three years, it required a lot of major repairs afterwards. Although GM extended the powertrain warranty, it is not a reliable car after three years. It is recommended to purchase a more reliable Toyota or Honda with your money. GM has not been able to provide Americans with a reliable American-made car.
