1995 Gmc Vandura problems
The Chevrolet Van or Chevy Van (also known as the Chevrolet/GMC G-series vans and GMC Vandura) is a range of vans that was manufactured by General Motors from the 1964 to 1996 model years. Introduced as the successor for the rear-engine Corvair Corvan/Greenbrier, the model line also replaced the panel van configuration of the Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle was sold both in passenger van and cargo van configurations as well as a cutaway van chassis that served as the basis for a variety of custom applications.
Produced across three generations (1964–66, 1967–70, and 1970–96), the model line was sold under a wide variety of model names under both the Chevrolet and GMC brands. The first two generations were forward control vehicles (with the engine placed between the seats); the third generation adopted a configuration placing the engine forward of the driver. The second and third generations shared powertrain commonality with the C/K pickup truck model line.
After the 1996 model year, GM retired the G-Series vans, replacing them with the GMT600-platform Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana.

Common 1995 Gmc Vandura problems
The 1995 GMC Vandura is a popular choice for van enthusiasts, but like any vehicle, it can have its share of issues. Here are some of the most common problems reported by owners of this car, based on complaints from various forums and discussion boards.
- Electrical Problems
One of the most common issues reported by GMC Vandura owners is electrical problems. These can range from blown fuses to a faulty ignition switch. For example, one owner reported that their windows and blower motor were not working, and after tracing the circuit, they found that the ignition switch was causing the problem. In this case, replacing the ignition switch and checking the fusible links solved the issue.
- Starting Issues
Another common problem reported by GMC Vandura owners is starting issues. These can be caused by a variety of factors, including a faulty starter, battery issues, or a problem with the ignition system. For example, one owner reported that their engine would not start, and the battery came on but there was no noise at all to indicate that the car was trying to start. In this case, cleaning and replacing the battery cables, as well as checking for amperage with a tester, helped to solve the problem.
- Transmission Issues
Transmission issues are also a common problem reported by GMC Vandura owners. These can range from slow gear changes to complete transmission failure. For example, one owner reported that their transmission was having issues with changing gears slowly, and after checking the transmission fluid, they found that it was very low. In this case, adding transmission fluid and checking for transmission failure helped to solve the problem.
- Engine Issues
Engine issues are another common problem reported by GMC Vandura owners. These can range from engine reving to engine noise. For example, one owner reported that their engine was reving and making a noise when changing gears, which was causing the van to lose power and stop running. In this case, dropping the transmission oil pan and changing the valve body filter helped to solve the problem.
- Fuel Filter Issues
Fuel filter issues are also a common problem reported by GMC Vandura owners. These can lead to fuel pump failure and other engine issues. For example, one owner reported that their fuel filter needed to be replaced every 30,000 miles to prevent fuel pump failure.
In conclusion, the 1995 GMC Vandura is a popular choice for van enthusiasts, but like any vehicle, it can have its share of issues. Electrical problems, starting issues, transmission issues, engine issues, and fuel filter issues are some of the most common problems reported by owners of this car. By being aware of these issues and taking proactive steps to prevent them, GMC Vandura owners can ensure that their vehicles remain in good working order for years to come.
