- Summary: While driving at highway speeds, our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado suddenly experienced loss of power assisted steering. I was able to steer the vehicle, but there was no power assist. This happened suddenly, with no advance warning lights. At the time of the incident, the driver information center displayed "check power steering". The sudden loss surprised me and although the vehicle was driveable, the steering was very difficult and a large amount of effort was required to park the truck. I am very glad this did not happen while my wife was driving the vehicle. Upon restarting the truck after a key off cycle, the code and the symptom disappeared. We were able to drive the truck home without the failure occurring, only to drive it again the next day and experience the failure a second time. Once again, the symptom disappeared after a key cycle. We researched the issue on line and found a recall N202325410 that described the same issue that we experienced. However, our trucks VIN is not included in the recall. This is disturbing to me, because our truck displayed the exact symptoms described in the recall. I repaired the truck using the GM approved recall repair procedure, which was to replace the steering torque sensor cover. We have safely driven the truck with no further loss of the power assist for 2 weeks. If we had known this could be an issue, we would have addressed it pro-actively. Instead, we experienced a failure on the highway. I am relieved that no accident occurred, but any number of circumstances could have occurred that lead to an accident when you suddenly loose your power assist on steering. The vehicle is available for inspection, and I have saved the torque sensor cover that I removed. My local dealer confirmed the failure and provided information on the recall. My vehicle has not been inspected by GM, the police, insurance representatives, or others besides my GM dealer and myself. Warning lamps as described above.

- Summary: At highway speeds, the Service Power Steering System and the Traction Control light appears on the interment cluster message center and the vehicle becomes difficult to steer safely because the electronic power steering assist is turned off. To make the vehicle operational one must stop, turn off the vehicle and turn it back on. This will allow the power steering electronics to continue to operate normally until the next time when it suddenly cuts the power steering off again. I looked on this website and I see tons of recalls and complaints about this issues. My vehicle has over 200K highway miles and I am not expecting the manufacture to to cover the cost of this repair, but I also don't believe it is a $2K total Power Steering System replacement either. There has to be a few hundred dollar wiring repair that can be completed to make the system reliable again.

- Summary: 2015 Chevy Colorado power steering has been going out while driving, often on the highway. very hard to steer/turn. several times have to try to put truck in neutral, turn off the truck, turn it back on to get it to come back on... all while doing 65-70mph on the highway. I took it to my mechanic last night, and today I'm told, there has been a recall issued for this issue. Call GM and talk to them. I do, and am told after giving VIN, for whatever reasons, my specific truck is not included in the recall - and yet I fight with the wheel trying not to run off the road or slam into someone else as I try to pull over - which is what this safety recall is all about. All out of pocket expense to me and am told, by GM, even if they do later include my truck in this recall for this problem, they could reimburse me but I most likely won't get reimbursed due to age of the truck and now it has 110,000 k miles on it. WHAT?! I'm sure this is a common type of problem with recalls but for those of us who are on tight income, this is highly stressful and a major problem - for dealing with the car itself and feeling screwed over by the company/laws/whatever excuse they want to say. Truck is now in the shop and going to get fixed cause I don't want to freaking die while driving and somehow I have to figure out how to pay the thousands of dollars to fix it.

Upon taking to the mechanic, they confirmed with the following: "We've confirmed an intermittent issue with the power steering, identified by the retrieval of the C0545 code for the steering torque sensor. Upon conducting a thorough data test, we observed erratic signals from the steering wheel torque sensor. We meticulously inspected all connections, finding no issues. Furthermore, our testing revealed that the torque sensor circuits are not shorted to power or ground, and there are no instances of resistance or opens. We recommend replacing and programming the electronic steering gear assembly, as the steering torque sensor is integrated into it." Final repairs and replacement of the steering gear assembly cost approximately $2500.00

The affected vehicles have a front driver air bag inflator that may be misaligned to the air bag module backplate. This can cause the inflator to separate from the backplate during a deployment.
- Consequence: If the inflator separates from the back plate in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, this may cause the air bag or steering wheel components to separate and be propelled into the interior compartment, potentially seriously injuring the driver or other occupants. Additionally, the air bag may fail to properly inflate, increasing the risk of injury to the driver.
- Remedy: GM has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the driver air bag module inflator for proper alignment, replacing the air bag, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 19, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15037.

Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet) or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14690.

I purchased this vehicle in June 2015 specifically to tow my 2016 Rockwood Mini Lite 2408s. Since then, I have taken it on numerous trips, including two to the Finger Lakes region in New York and Mid Hudson areas. I even drove through the Smokies, Blue Ridge, Appalachian, Endless, Catskills, Shawangunks and Adirondack mountains from Ocala, Fl. I recently upgraded to a Rockwood Ultra Lite 2604ws, which is much larger and heavier than my previous trailer. Despite the specs stating that the Colorado can't handle the weight, I have had no issues towing it through the mountains on my third trip to New York. This truck handles everything with ease and tows beautifully! I have never even come close to redlining the engine. Based on my positive experience with the Colorado, I am considering upgrading to a Silverado for my next truck.

I have 70k miles on my 2015 Colorado and it is the best truck I have ever owned. Despite a minor issue with the electronics indicating theft alert, the service promptly replaced a module in the steering column. Without hesitation, I would purchase another Chevrolet Colorado. My love for this truck is unwavering!

My 2015 Colorado has experienced water and/or coolant issues, resulting in two months of dealership visits. The first issue was water leakage behind the cab due to a bent breather, which was resolved after two weeks. The second issue was a check engine light that came on after receiving a phone alert. I took it to the dealership the next morning and provided a printout from Auto Zone indicating a coolant issue. After three days, the dealership informed me that there were no issues and no check engine light on. However, upon bringing the truck home, I noticed coolant on the passenger side floor. I immediately returned to the dealership and they discovered a faulty heater core. Although it has taken six weeks to resolve, I am confident that the dealership has resolved the issue and I am looking forward to taking my truck home soon.

Hi there! I've been driving my truck for 8 months now and I've put 21,000 miles on it. Until recently, I haven't had any issues with it. However, I noticed a noise coming from under the bed when I turn right. I took it to the dealership and they said it was because my spare tire wasn't tightened. Unfortunately, the noise is still there, so I'm taking it back tomorrow to hopefully get it fixed. On the bright side, my two little girls (ages 5 and 6) love the truck as much as I do! While there isn't a lot of room in the front, there's plenty of space in the back. I'm also happy to report that my truck gets great gas mileage - up to 29 mpg, with an average of 25 mpg. Although I have heated seats, they don't seem to get very hot, but that's a minor issue. Overall, I'm really happy with my truck and I hope to get this noise issue resolved soon.

I was the first one to buy the 2015 Colorado in Northern VA. I absolutely love this truck! I waited 2 years for it to come out and it was definitely worth the wait. If you're a truck girl, this is the one for you!

Although I have had several Chevy cars and trucks in my life, I am disappointed with the transmission problem in this vehicle. The shift and spike in rpm during shifts is unacceptable and it even cut off on me the other day. While it did start back up, I am concerned about when this issue will arise again. I am confident that Chevy can do better and hope to see improvements in future models.

The truck is a remarkable vehicle, however, we have experienced some issues with the brakes grabbing and a shutter when accelerating from low speeds. Despite GM's assertion that this is normal, we do not feel safe in the vehicle. If you are considering purchasing a GM product, it may be worth exploring other options.

I traded my 2014 Silverado for the 2015 Colorado because of its size. After breaking my ankle, it was a bit difficult to get into the Silverado due to its height. I opted for the Colorado with a Crew Cab, which is a beautiful looking truck that rode nicely during the Test Drive. However, the next day I had a strange feeling that I shouldn't have traded it in, but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. During my first trip to my dad's house, which is an hour and a half away from me with hills and winding turns, the truck handled really well, but it wasn't shifting properly. The dealer didn't know why at first, but they were willing to investigate. I had planned to keep the truck for a while to pay it off, but unfortunately, there were several recalls and many visits to the dealership, which cost me a lot of money. Even with the warranties, the dealership was 30 minutes away, so I spent a lot of money on gas going back and forth. The gas mileage wasn't as good as it should have been compared to the Silverado, as I got almost the same gas mileage. I missed my Silverado more and more every day. One day, after a hard day's work, I threw the truck in Reverse to back out of my spot, and then I went into drive, and that's when the Gearshift just fell off, I mean completely off. I had no gears but that, so I had to go straight to the dealership, I couldn't back up or anything. They fixed it and gave me a car to drive, and then later I had to have my dash and cameras replaced. The shifting seemed to get worse the longer I had it, and then it started using oil. The oil was 2 quarts low at the time of change. The straw that broke the camel's back was the AC. It worked great, but the line that goes from the AC Pump to the vents was corroded and ended up causing mold to form behind the dash, which smelled so bad that I almost vomited the day I decided enough is enough. I have always been a Chevy fan, and I still am, but unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with this truck.On June 30th, I traded in my old vehicle for a 2017 Silverado and I must say, I believe I'm going to be happy again. Although I didn't have that same feeling the next day like I did with the Colorado, I still think this truck is a great choice for those who want a smaller truck that looks good and has a good stereo. However, if you're looking for a quieter cab, smoother shifting, and more comfort and reliability, then this may not be the best option for you. The only things I really liked about this truck were the color and the Bose sound system. Overall, it's a decent choice for those who prioritize style and sound quality.

I've been a Chevy owner my whole life, exclusively Silverados. However, when I purchased a Colorado in 2011, I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent it was. Unfortunately, when I traded it in for a 2015 Colorado, I was disappointed to find that it didn't live up to my expectations. This experience has left me hesitant to purchase from GM again.

While I don't hate the truck, it does have some issues. One of the problems is the lack of power when passing. We expect a smooth grab of power that gets the job done right, but it feels like waking up a bull. When you step on the gas, for a few seconds, nothing happens, and then it jerks you back and slowly moves around. As far as the radio is concerned, there is no CD player, only Pandora, which I use, but half the time, it's a game to try and get it to start. My main concern is the evap system. A few months ago, I didn't even know about it, and now I'm an expert...lol. A DAM CEL came on about 40,000 miles right after the warranty stopped. I wasn't about to take it in because they charge an arm just to look. So, I replaced both solenoids on the evap and replaced the gas cap, but nothing worked. In my opinion, that system shouldn't give trouble that early in the truck's life. I could see 100,000 miles, but not 40,000. Then I got a letter about the purge solenoid getting an extended warranty. I'm sure it's because it works so well, but if it isn't, they charge for the diagnosis. I even called and chatted online with Chevrolet, and both times, I was hung up on. Chevrolet, it was my first and last Chevy truck. Thanks for nothing. I will go get a Nissan or Toyota, way better trucks, and trade it in. Update 7/7/19: Finally, the battery died on the truck, and after replacing it, the radio would just stop. God, Chevrolet, what the hell with the battery removal? I had to cut it out of the holder. Well, on 7/25/19, I traded in my Colorado with 42,000 miles and got a real truck, a 2018 Nissan Titan Pro 4x. I love it. Chevrolet, I hope you can hear me. Never again will I buy any of your vehicles. They are all garbage, as is your service at dealerships. Love you, Nissan. This is my 7th Nissan vehicle, and I've never had a problem. Last update: I traded that garbage in and got a 2018 Nissan Titan Pro 4x. And baby, I love it. I've had it for 2 years now and never had a problem, but if I did, it has a 100,000-mile warranty bumper to bumper. Love you, Nissan.
