1990 Chevrolet Beretta problems
The Chevrolet Beretta is a coupé that was produced by Chevrolet from 1987 until 1996. Alongside the four-door Chevrolet Corsica, the Beretta served as the successor to the Chevrolet Citation. Slotted between the Cavalier and Lumina/Monte Carlo coupes, the Beretta was distinguished by its vertical door handles mounted on the B-pillar, a design feature later used by the Chevrolet Lumina coupe and its GM W-body counterparts.
The Beretta shared the front-wheel drive GM L platform with the Corsica; replacing the X-body platform, the L-body was designed by Chevrolet, with the rest of General Motors using the Oldsmobile-designed N-body. The body was designed in the same design studio as the contemporary Camaro and Corvette. For 1990, a Beretta convertible conversion was selected as the Indianapolis 500 pace car; though a replica was initially considered as a convertible, the production replica was offered as a coupe.
During its production, the Beretta was assembled alongside the Corsica and Pontiac Tempest sedans (the latter, sold only in Canada) in GM facilities in Wilmington, Delaware, and Linden, New Jersey.

You have a very nice car with lots of power for being stock, and it can still achieve good gas mileage. What more could you want other than power and mileage?
-
Vehicle has been dependable and reliable. I have done my own maintenance since new. I use synthetic oil, and have had no engine problems. Torque converter solinoid went bad, ssems to be common, but curable. Have replaced a some injectors. Overall value has been great. I would buy another if they still sold them. I have 175k miles on this one, and still going strong. 25mpg hwy, 21 city. Anyone that can't keep a car running this long or longer, doesn't know how to maintain a car.
Deron Collier 2024-10-23
I have experienced numerous issues with my car in just three years. I have had to replace the brakes (pads and rotors), fuel pump, four out of six fuel injectors, the alternator, and the transmission twice. Unfortunately, the car failed the emissions test and I had to get rid of it. I suggest considering foreign cars, such as Honda. Although I was initially hesitant to try them due to my preference for American cars, I am now a firm believer in their quality and reliability.

I completely agree that looks play a big role in why people choose to buy a car. However, it's unfortunate that sometimes the performance doesn't live up to our expectations. I've heard similar stories from other people who own similar cars. It's definitely frustrating, but we can always hope for better options in the future!
Declan Schaden 2024-04-10
My 90 Beretta requires $180 in gas per week, which is unacceptable. It is clear that the car requires significant repairs to improve its performance and efficiency.
