2013 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

Congratulations on your first ever Cadillac! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the new ride, even if it's a little bumpier than your previous Yukon. It sounds like the new car is a great upgrade with its awesome look and hi-tech features.

I have had a Platinum model for several years and it has been an absolute pleasure to drive, especially on cross country (RV) trips. The magnetic front suspension is both comfortable and quick, and there is plenty of power (we pull a 6,500lb RV.) However, the only drawbacks are the entertainment screens and the fact that there is no spare tire.

Best decision made! It rides on air, has lots of room, and the 3rd row is removable which is convenient for my catering business. It's also good on fuel and has a lot of features. It's perfect for me!

This car has had some issues with the fuel system and engine, causing the service engine light to come on three times within a year. Additionally, the interior is not very spacious and some components, such as the center console and tailgate, feel cheap and wobbly. The glove compartment is also quite small and the lumbar support can be heard cracking when inflated. The rear leg a/c did not work and there were some squeaking noises when folding the seats or closing the doors. However, it is important to note that this car is still a good option for those looking for a more affordable SUV. While it may not have the same level of luxury as a BMW or Mercedes, it still offers great value for the price.

... for something aesthetically pleasing. I purchased a used CPO 2009 Cadillac Escalade with ~53,000 miles at the end of 2014. It was fully loaded and I was so excited to have it. However, as time went on, I started to experience some issues with the car. Thankfully, all repairs were still under warranty, but unfortunately, the warranty is set to expire in a month. I am now seriously considering selling the car to avoid costly repairs. Since I have owned it for almost a year, I have had to get several repairs done, including the heating and ventilation front driver seat repair, front struts replacement, cables to and from battery replacement due to complete electrical system failure while driving, lumbar support driver's seat repair, right driver's side CV boot leak, side cover for moon roof replacement, tire pressure monitoring system constantly going on/off, and now battery draining overnight and auto-up/down on driver side window malfunctioning. The complete electrical failure while driving was the scariest. We experienced a complete electrical system failure while driving twice (i.e. NO POWER STEERING, NO ANTI-LOCK BRAKES, NO INJECTION OF FUEL INTO ENGINE). Thankfully, my wife and I were able to pull the vehicle over before an accident occurred. Cadillac replaced the cables going to and from the car battery which has seemingly remedied the issue. There are tons of forums of this occurring and how the NHTSA has not recalled the car because of this boggles my mind. Overall, this car has been a bit of a headache, and I would not recommend it if you value reliability or quality craftsmanship. Unfortunately, it was my wife's dream car, but it has been in the shop more often than not and she has been unable to showcase its most valuable asset: aesthetics. I cannot imagine the cost that we will incur once the CPO warranty expires. For example, the cost to repair the driver's side heated and ventilated seat was just over $1,000. The Cadillac dealership near us charges $150 just to diagnose an issue. I guess this is what you get for a In comparison, I have owned a 2004 Lexus ES330 with 130,000 miles and have only needed to perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and new tires. I have owned it for 3 years, purchasing it with approximately 90,000 miles. I understand the challenges that Cadillac owners may face, and wish you all the best.

I returned to GM after a disappointing experience with Range Rover. Both vehicles I owned turned out to be maintenance nightmares within 6 months. Unfortunately, my 2009 ESV has been in the shop twice in the last 6 months. The first time was due to an electronic issue and just yesterday, my transmission failed with only 13k miles on it. This is not a good sign. I hope my dealership can resolve the issue soon.

I owned a 2007 Yukon that unfortunately had a lot of problems. There were serious electrical issues that made us feel unsafe driving it with our children. We took it in for repairs about 4 times, but the issues persisted, so we decided to trade it in for an Escalade AWD. However, we were disappointed to find that the Escalade was not as well-built as we had hoped. In fact, it turned out to be the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Within just 8 months, it had to be taken to the shop about 12 times for various problems. The most dangerous issue was the engine cutting off while driving on the interstate. It was a super dangerous vehicle! When I took it in for repairs, there were about 5 other Escalades in the shop for similar problems. Eventually, I decided to purchase a Volvo XC70 loaded and I absolutely love it!
