2014 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-03-30
- VIN: 1GYS3BEF0ER
- Components: STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
- Summary: While driving my 2016 Cadillac Escalade with a6.2L V8 engine on [XXX] near Bristow, Oklahoma at approximately 75 mph, the vehicle suddenly and completely lost power. Without any prior warning or unusual noises, the engine shut down, and I lost power to the dashboard and power steering. This caused the vehicle to decelerate rapidly, making it extremely difficult to control. I managed to steer the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway, narrowly avoiding a collision due to the loss of control. The vehicle could not be restarted. The affected components seem to include the engine, electrical system, and steering. These failures put my safety and the safety of others at significant risk due to the sudden and unexpected loss of vehicle control on a busy highway. The vehicle was towed to the nearest Cadillac dealership for inspection and repair. As of now, the dealership has been unable to determine the cause of the engine failure despite conducting multiple tests and inspections. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure. The dealership has confirmed the issue but has not identified the root cause. The vehicle remains at the dealership for further diagnostics and is available for inspection upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-06-07
- VIN: 1GYS4CEF4ER
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: I am having an electrical short that is shutting down everything while I'm driving or stopped, it makes driving it Dangerous and Scary. It looks like the recall from 2014 that describes everything I'm experiencing. Recall 14515 that talks about a Chassis Control Module that controls a lot of things including the fuel pump and more electrical components to list. I have a vehicle that is Dangerous to drive, im a Disabled Veteran and am tied to a Powered Chair. I have called Cadillac and they say that my Escalade is not included and they will do nothing for me. I'm at a lose as what to do, I could just sell it to someone else and let them deal with it or get killed in it. Either way is not a good choice. Let me know what you would do if you were in my position.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-02-03
- VIN: 1GYS4BEF9ER
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: Cadillac sent a notice of the recall. The authorized Chevrolet dealership repair facility and Cadillac told me that they would not accept the risk that the dashboard would not crack in installation of authorized Chevrolet dealership repair facility defective part and that 'I' would have to sign a waiver saying 'I' accept the risk that they 'could' damage my car and would be 'my' responsibility if the dash is ruined and pay for the replacement. This is not my error/defective issue, but GM's. They have already indicated that people have been injured and died from this defective part. I believe Cadillac should accept the 'potential' risk should it be damaged. I am getting no where with Cadillac and would like to have the NHTSA to weigh in on their lack of support to mitigate this error. Certainly hoping that the dash does not crack, but I don't have the funds to take on that risk and they've left me in bad situation with a KNOWN risk of defective part.

Hello! I just wanted to say that I absolutely love the 2013 Escalade! I have a 2003 Tahoe that is still running today, even though I've tried to kill it a few times. I ended up giving it away and upgrading to the Caddy, which I believe will be just as reliable and last just as long. As my father used to tell me when I was a child, 'If you take care of your car, the car will take care of you.' And he was right! While it may not be the best in gas mileage, the safety, comfort, and peace of mind it provides is truly priceless. Thank you for sharing your experience with me!

I have had a Platinum model for several years and it has been an absolute pleasure to drive, especially on cross country (RV) trips. The magnetic front suspension is both comfortable and quick, and there is plenty of power (we pull a 6,500lb RV.) However, the only drawbacks are the entertainment screens and the fact that there is no spare tire.

This model year may not have kept up with current technology, but it is still a powerful and luxurious option that can handle basic functions with ease.
-
Buy it! Don't think, just buy it. It drives amazing!

Congratulations on your first ever Cadillac! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the new ride, even if it's a little bumpier than your previous Yukon. It sounds like the new car is a great upgrade with its awesome look and hi-tech features.

I owned a 2007 Yukon that unfortunately had a lot of problems. There were serious electrical issues that made us feel unsafe driving it with our children. We took it in for repairs about 4 times, but the issues persisted, so we decided to trade it in for an Escalade AWD. However, we were disappointed to find that the Escalade was not as well-built as we had hoped. In fact, it turned out to be the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Within just 8 months, it had to be taken to the shop about 12 times for various problems. The most dangerous issue was the engine cutting off while driving on the interstate. It was a super dangerous vehicle! When I took it in for repairs, there were about 5 other Escalades in the shop for similar problems. Eventually, I decided to purchase a Volvo XC70 loaded and I absolutely love it!

If you're considering purchasing the huge Escalade, keep in mind that it may not be the best fit for those with shorter legs. I had previously agreed to purchase a 2007 ESV in late 2008, but unfortunately, the dealer sold it before I could finalize the deal. In hindsight, it was probably for the best since the non-adjustable rear seats were almost a deal-breaker for me. Surprisingly, the second row of seats in the $70k Escalade had less legroom than my $30k 2006 Pilot, which had seats that could be moved forward and backward. While the Escalade may look cool, we ultimately decided on the more practical QX56. I noticed that you mentioned Land Rover as an option, but I personally wouldn't recommend it due to their reputation for having a large disparity between perceived and actual quality. Although they may look great, they're not the most reliable trucks out there.
