2024 Bmw X7 problems
The BMW X7 is a full-sized luxury sport utility vehicle manufactured by BMW. It is BMW's largest and 2nd most expensive SUV in its line-up.
The X7 was first announced by BMW in March 2014. It was officially unveiled on October 17, 2018, with pre-orders being taken online. The X7 has been available at dealers since March 2019.
Launch and development
BMW provided a preview of the upcoming X7 with the showing of the Concept X7 iPerformance at the 2017 International Motor Show in Frankfurt. Production of the X7 started in 2018 at the BMW US Manufacturing Company plant in Greer, South Carolina.
The X7 is built on the same BMW CLAR platform as the G05 X5, however the X7 is taller and wider plus it has been stretched for increased cargo space and third row seating which is standard and more spacious for adults (the X5's third row seating, which is optional, is mainly for children). In contrast to the X5, it is not available with rear-wheel drive, instead using an all-wheel drive (xDrive) drivetrain for all models. In Europe, diesel and petrol engines are available, while the choice is limited to inline-6 and V8 petrol engines in the United States.
The G07 features a self-levelling air suspension system, with a double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. It can be raised or lowered by 40 mm (1.6 in) and will automatically lower the car by 20 mm (0.8 in) at speeds of over 138 km/h (86 mph). The boot capacity is rated at 326 litres (11.5 cu ft), and 2,120 litres (75 cu ft) with the seats folded down.
All petrol and diesel models feature engine particulate filters and meet the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard. The xDrive50i model is available outside the European markets, while the European markets will get the M50i models.
In July 2019, a pickup truck concept car was unveiled, though not intended for production.

- Summary: Dealer Braman BMW West Palm Beach Florida has voice that new lot vehicles of the same kind will have priority over the vehicles on the road. They will not check vehicle unless the system fails; this is in my opinion unacceptable and I have genuine and justifiable fear and I will not have my family drive this vehicle unless someone tells me it is safe otherwise. Breaks are noisy when stopping; furthermore, when vehicle auto-turns-on the vehicles pushes forward even when breaks are applied in a stop light or stop sign pushing you into traffic or the vehicle in front of you.

SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-10-17
- VIN: 5UX23EM04R9
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I brought my vehicle to my dealer in March to have my brake system repaired as there was a known recall on this vehicle and was told there is no remedy available but it was safe to drive. The power brake booster in my 2024 BMW X7 failed on October 17, 2024 while I was driving downhill with a child in the car around a blind turn. I was not able to stop for several hundred feet and would have potentially killed a pedestrian, myself or my child who was in the car with me if this happened on a road where there was more traffic. I relayed this to the BMW executive team and was told that they will not buy my vehicle back because they will fix the part now that it failed. They said that they did not have enough parts to issue to all the affected vehicles so unless the part fails they are not doing anything about it at this time. This has been going on for 8 months. This recall is still outstanding on about 80,000 vehicles at this time. TI am not confident that the part is going to work. If they have a fix why arent they pulling ALL the recalled vehicles off the road? The power brake booster was confirmed as failing by my local BMW dealership. The only time a warning light came on was when my booster failed, and at that point it was too late to do anything to get to safety.

SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-02
- VIN: 5UX23EM09R9
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: We purchased our 2024 BMW X7 in August 2023. We have experienced brake failure twice so far. The first time happened in June 2024. The brake failed in front of the red traffic light. We were lucky that there was no car crossing the road. Otherwise, we would have ended up with an accident. BMW replaced the brake system. But, the post online said that the proposed brake repair does not work. So, I reached out to BMW to let them know to buy back my vehicle as it says online that the proposed brake repair doesn't work, and I can't put my family and kids in the vehicle with potential serious safety issues. But, BMW representative lied to me that the brake issue of my vehicle is permanently fixed, forcing me to drive the vehicle and putting my family in danger. In September 2024 at 3 months after the 1st brake repair, my vehicle lost the brake again. The same brake failure issue happened again. BMW denied my buyback request again. This time the post online also says that the proposed repair still doesn't work. BMW is forcing me to drive the vehicle with serious safety issues again. Please stop BMW forcing their customers to drive the vehicle with known major safety issues. Thanks.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-17
- VIN: 5UX23EM09R9
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: BMW replaced the brake system twice to fix the brake failure issues we had on our 2024 BMW X7. When we brought our vehicle in for the 1st brake system replacement in June 2024 at 12,000 miles, the dealership inspected tire tread depth and all tires are in green. When we brought our vehicle in for the 2nd brake system replacement in September 2024 at 15,000 miles, both rear tires tread depth became red, indicating that the rear tires need to be replaced immediately. The rear tires had excessive wear in 3 month or 3,000 miles. We did not let anyone else driving the vehicle. So, the excessive rear tire wear was not caused by driving habits, but by the bad/defect brake system BMW replaced. This bad brake system will affect use and maintenance cost of the vehicle in the future. BMW needs to take the responsibility. The dealership technician also expressed the brake concern causing excessive tire wear issue. BMW denied the replacement of the tires upon the dealership technician requested. We as customers need the help of NHTSA. Thank you very much. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-10
- VIN: 5UX33EM06R9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE
- Summary: Purchased this 2024 BMW X7M60I in March 23, since day 1 of ownership and with 100 miles on the dash the car has had massive breaking, electrical, and engine issues. Almost every safty light on the dash comes on or is always on. Car was taken to Centry West BMW over many times and many months/years. Previous to this new recall dated Feb 24 they replaced the IBC and DSC and the whole brake booster and brake system. This was completed on Oct 5th of 23. I was told that this would fix all the problems with the car. Since then the car is still having the same issues regarding the brakes, engine, and electrical. Previous to this new recall coming out BMW refused to acknowledge that this car is unsafe and unfit to drive. They assured me that it was fixed. Car was taken back in to dealership on June 14th 24 due to the same issues and more new ones appearing. The dealership once more told me that the car was safe and that they are unaware of any recalls and or issues with the car. From day 1 the vehicle would basically turn into a brick and not start and would not allow itself to be driven or towed either since once the car becomes a brick you are not able to switch the car into neutral to tow it. The car would shut down and shut off completely during driving as well almost causing many accidents. When the car shuts off completely there are no breaks or steering wheel to be able to control the car! After many services visits where they continually would not allow me to list all issues with the car on the intake paperwork during service they finally told me they do not know how to fix it. I reached out to BMW NA and asked for a buy back. I feel that BMW NA and their dealerships do not act in good faith. They know of widespread defects and safty issues and constantly try to fool their customers! This car has many issues and the break booster is just 1 of over 15 major safty issues! BMW should Buy Back all these faulty vehicles and make their customers right!
SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-12
- VIN: 5UX23EM04R9
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: This BMW X7 car has had a recall, with no resolution on it since Feb of 2024. I purchased my car in July 2024 and the dealer never once mentioned this to me. This is a serious issue and I do not think this was good business. It's also terrifying to think the brakes on such a heavy and fast vehicle can lock up. This is unacceptable. The cars should be taken back by dealers immediately and owners offered new vehicles which are not part of the recall that are safe.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-15
- VIN: 5UX33EM07R9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The air condition is inadequate for temperatures above 80°. Due to the inadequacy of the coldness and the speed at which the fan blows, all passengers in a fully loaded vehicle complain of excessive heat temperatures Safety is an issue if left in the vehicle for a long period of time without proper temperatures being reached for all in the vehicle. The problem has not been able to be reproduced by the local dealer, stating that everything is operating within BMW manufacturer specifications. However, the issue is KNOWN to BMW manufacturer, and BMW dealerships, that the air condition system is in adequate for temperatures above 80°. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE SPECIFIC TO THE BMW X7 MODELS. My New 2024 BMW X7 i60 having less than 7000 miles, was recently taken into the local BMW dealership for complaints of slow too cool, or an insufficiently cooling air-conditioning system. The vehicle has third row seating. After a week of keeping the vehicle and my insistence that they keep it to find the issue, the dealer stated that the air conditioning system is operating within BMW manufacturer specifications. However, further research shows that numerous customers of BMW X7 vehicles have complained to the manufacturer with no response, and the same response from dealerships when the vehicle is taken in that the vehicle is operating within manufacturer specifications.

We're so happy with our new car! We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and quick the inline 6 is. It's a true Autobahn cruiser.

I have owned many Mercedes-Benz and BMWs over the years, including Lexus, and I must say that this is by far the most satisfying overall vehicle we've ever owned. Although we had a few software update issues initially, everything has been straightened out and we are well pleased. I would definitely buy another one. In fact, my daughter wants one too and is asking me to go get the V8! :)

This SUV is amazing! I recently test drove the Mercedes GLS, which was nice, but it just didn't have the same presence and performance as the X7 M60i. While the GLS has a lot of classy features, it feels too busy inside for my taste. On the other hand, the X7 M60i is a beast on wheels and handles with perfection and comfort. The looks are insane - classy yet sporty. I'm absolutely thrilled with this SUV and I truly believe it's the best one I've ever owned (and I've owned many)!

I received my vehicle in December of 22 and took it in for service in March due to noise in the brakes. However, I was told that it was normal and to give it time to break in. The oil change notification also popped up on the dash when it was not yet time to change. Additionally, the SOS malfunction light keeps appearing on the dash. Unfortunately, the brakes still have the same issue. Last month, I took the vehicle in because it was lunging forward while driving, and it turned out that the vehicle needed a transmission replacement at only fourteen thousand miles. After picking up the vehicle, I noticed that my windshield wipers were knocking on the driver's side. However, I was told that it had nothing to do with the transmission. I took it back for the brake noise, but as of today, the problem persists. On Sunday, while coming back from church, the screen went blank all by itself. I drove home with a blank screen, turned off the vehicle, waited for about ten minutes, and decided to start it again. The screen came back on. I called my service advisor, and I was told to bring it in. I have an appointment for tomorrow and will keep you posted.
