2019 Bmw X7 problems

The BMW X7 is a full-sized luxury sport utility vehicle manufactured by BMW. It is BMW's largest and 2nd most expensive SUV in its line-up.
The X7 was first announced by BMW in March 2014. It was officially unveiled on October 17, 2018, with pre-orders being taken online. The X7 has been available at dealers since March 2019.
Launch and development
BMW provided a preview of the upcoming X7 with the showing of the Concept X7 iPerformance at the 2017 International Motor Show in Frankfurt. Production of the X7 started in 2018 at the BMW US Manufacturing Company plant in Greer, South Carolina.
The X7 is built on the same BMW CLAR platform as the G05 X5, however the X7 is taller and wider plus it has been stretched for increased cargo space and third row seating which is standard and more spacious for adults (the X5's third row seating, which is optional, is mainly for children). In contrast to the X5, it is not available with rear-wheel drive, instead using an all-wheel drive (xDrive) drivetrain for all models. In Europe, diesel and petrol engines are available, while the choice is limited to inline-6 and V8 petrol engines in the United States.
The G07 features a self-levelling air suspension system, with a double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. It can be raised or lowered by 40 mm (1.6 in) and will automatically lower the car by 20 mm (0.8 in) at speeds of over 138 km/h (86 mph). The boot capacity is rated at 326 litres (11.5 cu ft), and 2,120 litres (75 cu ft) with the seats folded down.
All petrol and diesel models feature engine particulate filters and meet the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard. The xDrive50i model is available outside the European markets, while the European markets will get the M50i models.
In July 2019, a pickup truck concept car was unveiled, though not intended for production.

Common 2019 Bmw X7 problems
The BMW X7, a full-size luxury SUV, has been praised for its powerful engine, quiet ride, and smooth handling.
One owner reported that their 2019 X7 has been to the shop three times in just three months due to technology and safety features not working, including a camera malfunction error that required a fourth visit.
The 2019 BMW X7 has also faced criticism for its slow power seat adjustment, which is not intuitive and requires a working knowledge of the owner's manual.
In addition to these issues, the 2019 BMW X7 has been identified as a year to avoid due to its poor mileage and high maintenance costs.
Despite these problems, the BMW X7 has received positive feedback for its dealer service, with owners appreciating the professionalism and knowledge of dealerships, efficient handling of service appointments, and transparency regarding maintenance needs and costs.
In conclusion, while the BMW X7 offers a luxurious driving experience, the 2019 model has faced criticism for its technology and safety feature malfunctions, slow power seat adjustment, and overall reliability. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues and consider the more reliable 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 models instead.

You report that BMW SIB 65 12 22 includes any vehicle paint application produced prior to the date of Jan 10, 2022. You have another complaint on 12-16-22 ID number 11498616. There are numerous complaints on message boards with the same problem. BMW is claiming that the SIB listed above does not include my vehicle and is refusing to fix it under warranty. This is a safety issue as the vehicle reports you in the wrong location on the navigation, giving you incorrect navigation directions.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-03-30
- VIN: 5UXCW2C58KL
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: While operating the x7, liquid from a loose lid of a cup was spilled (not in excess of 2oz) onto the console area as it was being placed into temperature controlled cupholders just forward of the gear shifter. This minimal amount of liquid caused the parking mechanism- GWS SHIFTER to short/fry rendering the car unable to shift gears. A message that the "P Button Not Working" and instruction to "hold the start/stop button down for 3 seconds" to make the car go into park was given. The Park button, shifter and start/stop buttons are located in the console behind the cup holders. This is a GREAT danger because this complete system failure can happen with MINIMAL liquid contact from incidental spills and the car becomes immovable. My car had to be towed to the dealer to have the GWS Shifter REPLACED and reprogramed and was VERY costly, and NOT covered by BMW warranty. BMW North America is aware of liquid in the cup holder area causing issues to the mechanical systems as a class action lawsuit was just unveiled due to liquid causing air bag problems. The airbag and gas shifter are housed in the same location. Please investigate this as this is a family vehicle (for us) and the provided cup holders are very likely to be used. This failure can cause a person and/or family to be in great danger if they suddenly cannot control their car.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-12-16
- VIN: 5UXCX4C52KL
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The SOS malfunctions by disabling the center display panel. The satellite radio and navigation don’t work. An error message populates the main dash display and cannot be reset by driver. The SOS device box is located in the rear overhead panel where it’s very difficult to access. The dealer replaced the SOS box and Li battery. After 3 weeks, the SOS malfunctions again where it randomly calls the BMW roadside assistance every few minutes. During this time, the center display screen functions are gone and replaced by a calling SOS message and all functions are inoperable. This time dealer says the rear antennae fins has water intrusion which corroded the “electrical fins.” They replaced this part. Bottom line: the most important part of the vehicle should be the most reliable part. This device should never break and water definitely should not enter the rear antenna and corrode the electrical contacts. A major safety risk and Very poor design in my opinion. Thank you for investigating this problem.
SEATS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-02-01
- VIN: 5UXCW2C59KL

Negative 2019 Bmw X7 car reviews
Positive 2019 Bmw X7 car reviews

I've owned several luxury SUVs (SAVs for BMW enthusiasts) and I'm currently transitioning from two Audi Q7s, which are great cars for the price. I've also owned an MBenz GLS 450, which doesn't compare to the new X7 M Sport. The exterior is strong, similar to the MB, but the interior is on another level. Every surface you touch feels great, and the ride and handling are very sporty for an SUV of this size. I opted for the 5.0 because it sounds so cool, but it does consume a lot of fuel. However, if you're going to spend six figures on a car, you can't complain about gas mileage. It gets around 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, so it's not that bad. I've never owned a BMW before, but this is the best large SUV on the market. An MB GLS 63 costs at least $20k more and looks old and worn out.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with the BMW X7, which I recently purchased. As someone who has owned three Mercedes Benz GLS-450s in the past (2007, 2013, and 2017), I can say that the X7 is a great alternative. While I've always enjoyed the GLS, I found the X7 to be quieter and smoother, with a more affordable price tag. I also appreciated the opportunity to try something new, as Mercedes Benz tends to make only minor cosmetic changes to their vehicles. Overall, I'm very happy with my decision to switch to the X7. Thanks for listening!

The X7 separates itself from the current full size SUV’s with a third row. It has a fresh design keeping in mind the BMW heritage. It drives like a smaller suv and gives you the BMW driving experience. Technology is up to date with all the newest features.

Quality luxury inside and out.

It's rare to drive a large/luxury SUV and really enjoy the experience. My 40i has plenty of power and those twin turbos kick in when needed. This is a very comfortable auto. It may take a while to get your profiles set to the individual drivers' needs but it's worth the time. We really like having key functions still controlled, if you wish, via buttons!

I owned the X7 for two years (2019) and drove it for 42,000 miles. While passing through a school zone, I experienced a complete loss of steering and brakes as children were crossing. Fortunately, I was going uphill and there was a bend in the road, so I went off the road without causing any harm. BMW acknowledged that there was a software issue, but unfortunately, they did not stand behind the vehicle. As a 61-year-old man, I strongly advise against purchasing this vehicle. Please be aware. If you have any concerns, you can contact Bernhard Kuhnt, VP of BMW, or Caitlin De Siervo, Executive Customer Relations and Services, National Service Director. They may be able to assist you.
