The Audi TT is a production front-engine, 2-door, 2+2 sports coupé and roadster, manufactured and marketed by Audi from 1998 to 2023 across three generations.

For each of its three generations, the TT has been based on consecutive generations of Volkswagen's "Group A" platforms, starting with its "PQ34" fourth generation. The TT shares powertrain and suspension layouts with its platform mates, including the Audi A3, like a transversely mounted front-engine, powering front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and fully independent suspension using MacPherson struts in front.

The TT's first two generations were assembled by Audi's Hungarian subsidiary, one of the world's largest engine manufacturing plants, using bodyshells manufactured and painted at Audi's Ingolstadt plant and parts made entirely by the Hungarian factory for the third generation.

The last of the 662,762 Audi TTs was manufactured in November 2023.

THE CAR BEGAN TO DRIVE KIND OF HARSH AT LOW SPEEDS AND I WAS EXPERIENCING THE FLASHING LIGHTS OF PNRDS MORE OFTEN AT LEAST THREE TIMES A WEEK WHEN SWITCHING TO REVERSE. I TOOK IT IN FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DESCRIBED THE ISSUE AGAIN TO MY SERVICE GUY. HE SAID THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. COME TO FIND OUT THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE UNIT AND I WOULD NOT RECEIVE MY CAR FOR TWO WEEKS. I PICKED UP MY CAR VERIFIED WITH SERVICE REP THE CAR WAS IN GOOD STANDING WITH WARRANTY RECALLS HE ASSURED ME EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THE ISSUE HAD BEEN CORRECTED. I HAD THE CAR FOR NO MORE THAN 12 HOURS BEFORE THE FLASH OF DEATH PNRDS APPEARED EXCEPT THIS TIME I ALMOST ROLLED INTO A CAR WHILE PARKING. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE REP TO DISCUSS THAT THIS IS SOME BS. SO I TOOK THE CAR IN AND HE SAID SOME BS HOW HE TOOK THE CAR TO SOME AUDI CAR MAINTENANCE GUY AND THEY SAID I WOULD NEED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION ADDITION, I NOTICED THAT WHEN MOVING THE CAR FROM DRIVE TO PARK THAT WAS A DOUBLE CLICKING SOUND AND WHAT CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED A DOUBLE LURCHING OF THE CAR WHEN GOING TO DRIVE.   • Summary: THIS IS THE UTMOST FRUSTRATING SERIAL OF INCIDENT I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED WITH AN AUTO MANUFACTURE COMPANY - AUDI. I HAVE TRIED TO PUT MY FAITH AND SAFETY AGAIN WITH AUDI, BUT THEY HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED ME LEAVING ME AND FAMILY IN DANGEROUS AND PARANOIA. MY AUDI 2009 TTS WAS PROBLEM FREE UNTIL 4,000 MILES. OUT OF ORDINARY, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE FUEL SEAL WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THIS INCIDENT WAS VERY SIMILAR WITH MY 2009 A3 INCIDENT (ODI #10281829). I HAVE SINCE BEEN EXTREMELY PARANOID WITH MY NEW TTS AS THE A3 HAD LEFT ME VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE AS IT HAD COMPLETELY LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. AT AROUND 14,000 MILES, I HAVE NOTICED A TICKING SOUND BY THE REAR DRIVER AREA. THIS WAS THE AREA THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD WORKED ON AT 5,000 MILES WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF FUEL SEAL. I HAVE NOT THINK MUCH OF IT AS THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING AND IT WAS APPROACHING THE NEXT SERVICE INTERVAL AND I THOUGHT I CAN JUST HAVE THE DEALERSHIP CHECK THIS PROBLEM THEN. HOWEVER, TODAY, I WAS DRIVING LOCALLY WITH MY GRANDMOTHER IN LAS VEGAS. THE TICKING SOUND WAS STILL THERE AND THE TTS ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY FAILED ON THE LOCAL STREET. I WAS TRAVELING ON THE LOCAL STREET IN THE FAR LEFT LANE AT AROUND 45 MPH, THE CAR STARTED TO JERK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THEN THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE!! I DID NOT WANT TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRAFFIC AND I HAVE TURNED ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHT AND CRUISE TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE LANE. MY GRANDMOTHER AND I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK, I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME AGAIN WITH ANOTHER AUDI CAR. TWICE IN 10 MONTHS. THE WIRING HARNESS OF A TEMPERATURE SENSOR IN THE DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX (DSG) MAY HAVE CONNECTOR WIRES THAT WERE INSUFFICIENTLY CRIMPED.     You can have both the BMW's and the Cayman, but this Audi is truly outstanding. It may not have the teeth-jarring aspects of a raw sports car, but it is the perfect combination of luxury and performance. The build quality is typical Audi, and even with the 2.0, the torque and power are more than enough. I traded an '03 FWD TT for this one, and I couldn't be happier with the styling, performance, and Quattro. It is a real head-turner and so much fun to drive, especially with the paddle shifters that can be used at any time in any mode. It's just a great car.

    Had my TT for 1 week and loving it! It's fully loaded, excluding navigation and magnetic ride. I was considering an '04/'05, but then I saw the '08 and it was all over. I test drove the 2.0, but ultimately decided on the 3.2 due to its power and Quattro - I expect to keep this car for a long time.

    Perfect in every way! I love the headlights, tail lights, interior, exterior, and 10 spoke bicolor rims that really stand out.

    I absolutely adore my first Audi! The styling never fails to impress me every time I get behind the wheel. It's hard to believe that the best car in any parking lot is mine. The front and trunk have plenty of room, and the rear seats are perfect for shopping or even our medium-sized dog. Even when I'm stuck in traffic, I can still appreciate the elegance of this car. And when there's an opportunity to use all the power, it's truly exhilarating! With 2 optional suspension modes (sport/regular) and 4 transmission choices (auto, sport, paddle override, and clutchless manual), the combinations are endless. Plus, the quattro AWD drive is superb in the snow. As a kid-free couple's only car, it's absolutely fantastic!
