2011 Audi A4 problems
The Audi A4 is a line of luxury compact executive cars produced since 1994 by the German car manufacturer Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. The A4 has been built in five generations and is based on the Volkswagen Group B platform. The first generation A4 succeeded the Audi 80. The automaker's internal numbering treats the A4 as a continuation of the Audi 80 lineage, with the initial A4 designated as the B5-series, followed by the B6, B7, B8, and the B9.
The B8 and B9 versions of the A4 are built on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform shared with several models and brands across the Volkswagen Group. The Audi A4 automobile layout consists of a front-engine design, with transaxle-type transmissions mounted at the rear of the engine. The cars are front-wheel drive, or on some models, "quattro" all-wheel drive. The A4 is available as a sedan and station wagon. Historically, the second (B6) and third generations (B7) of the A4 also included a convertible version. For the fourth generation (B8) and onwards, the convertible, along with a new coupé and 5-door liftback variant, was spun-off by Audi into a new nameplate called the Audi A5.
B5 (Typ 8D; 1994)
The first generation Audi A4 (known internally as the Typ 8D) debuted in October 1994, with production starting November 1994 and European sales commencing in January 1995 for the 1995 model year. North American sales later began in September 1995 for the 1996 model year. It was built on the Volkswagen Group B5 (PL45) platform, which it shared with the fourth generation Volkswagen Passat (B5, Typ 3B). It had a front-mounted longitudinal engine and front-wheel drive. Many variations of the A4 were also available with Audi's quattro four-wheel drive system. The A4 was initially introduced as a four-door saloon/sedan; the Avant (estate/wagon) was introduced in November 1995 and went on sale in February 1996.
Development began in 1988, with the first design sketches being created later that year. By 1991, an exterior design by Imre Hasanic was chosen and frozen for November 1994 production by 1992. The interior design was later finalized in 1992, with pilot production commencing in the first half of 1994. Development concluded in the third quarter of 1994, preceding November 1994 start of production.
A wide range of engines were available in European markets, between 1.6 and 2.8 litres for petrol engines; and a 1.9-litre diesel engine available with Volkswagen Group's VE technology, capable of achieving a 90 PS (66 kW; 89 bhp) or 110 PS (81 kW; 108 bhp). The 2.6 and 2.8-litre V6 engines which had been carried over from the old 80/90 proved popular, although in North America, the 2.8-litre engine was the only V6 that was available there until 1997. A 2.4-liter version was developed especially for the Thai market, where import duty jumped from 60 to 100 percent on cars of over 2,400 cc displacement.
The Audi A4 was the first model in the Volkswagen Group to feature the new 1.8-litre 20v engine with five valves per cylinder, based on the unit Audi Sport had developed for their Supertouring race car. A turbocharged 1.8T version produced 150 PS (110 kW; 148 bhp) and 210 N⋅m (155 lb⋅ft) torque. Moreover, a quattro GmbH special edition of the B5 1.8T was later available in Germany and Europe, for which the engine's power output was raised to 180 PS (132 kW; 178 bhp) and 235 N⋅m (173 lb⋅ft). Five-valve technology was also added to a reengineered V6 family of engines in 1997, starting with the 2.8-litre V6 30v, which now produced 193 PS (142 kW; 190 bhp), followed by a 2.4-litre V6 which was a downsize from the previous 2.6 litre, 150 hp (112 kW) engine, but with a power increase to 165 PS (121 kW; 163 bhp).
Audi also debuted their new tiptronic automatic transmission on the B5 platform, based on the unit Porsche developed for their 964-generation 911. The transmission is a conventional automatic gearbox with a torque converter offering the driver a fully-automatic operation or manual selection of the gear ratios.
The B5 marked Audi's continued move into the midsize luxury car segment, having started this trajectory notably with later model years of the preceding Audi 80/90 B4. Despite initial mechanical problems, overall build and assembly quality were lauded both by the automotive press and within Audi and Volkswagen, and at the time, parent company Volkswagen declared the B5 the company-wide build quality benchmark for all its other models.

Common 2011 Audi A4 problems
The 2011 Audi A4 has been reported to have several common problems, particularly related to the engine. One of the most common issues is excessive oil consumption, which is a chronic problem with the 2.0 TFSI engine. This issue is caused by the piston rings failing to seal properly, allowing oil to leak into the cylinders around the pistons. This problem can lead to decreased fuel economy, excessive wear on engine components, and even scoring in the cylinder bores, which can further exacerbate the problem over time.
Another common problem with the 2011 Audi A4 engine is carbon buildup on the intake valves. This issue is mostly unavoidable due to the direct injection nature of the engine, as the buildup restricts airflow inside the engine, causing misfires, uneven idle, and worse fuel economy.
The timing chain tensioner is also a common problem with the 2011 Audi A4 engine. When working properly, the timing chain allows the intake and exhaust valves to open and close at the correct intervals. However, with a worn-out tensioner, the timing chain can become loose, causing the engine to run poorly or not at all.
In addition to engine problems, there are also common issues with the suspension of the 2011 Audi A4. The bushings on both axles will give in at around 120,000 miles, and the shock absorbers will need replacing around the 150,000 miles mark. These issues can cause problems with the car's handling and ride quality.
The door locks are also not the most reliable on the 2011 Audi A4. The motors operating the locks or the micro switches in them can fail, preventing the doors from being opened from the inside. While this issue is not a serious concern, it is still something to keep in mind.
Overall, while the 2011 Audi A4 is a well-built and robust car, it is important to be aware of these common problems, particularly those related to the engine and suspension. Regular maintenance and inspections can help prevent these issues from becoming more serious, and prompt repairs can help ensure the longevity and reliability of the car.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-05-20
- VIN: WAUAFAFL7BN
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE
- Summary: IT APPEARS THAT DUE TO A MANUFACTURING/ENGINEERING DEFECT, THE TIMING CHAIN ON CERTAIN AUDI AND VOLKSWAGEN MODELS FAILS AFTER A CERTAIN NUMBER OF MILES. THIS TIMING CHAIN FAILURE HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO CAUSE SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE, IN MANY CASES REQUIRING A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. REGRETTABLY, THIS IS WHAT RECENTLY HAPPENED WITH MY 2011 AUDI A4. IN FACT, THERE WAS A FAIRLY HIGH-PROFILE CLASS ACTION FILED AGAINST VOLKSWAGEN (CIVIL ACTION NO. 16-2765 (JLL)(JAD) THAT WAS RECENTLY SETTLED. (SEE HTTPS://TIMINGCHAINLITIGATION.COM/HOME/FAQ#FAQ6). UNFORTUNATELY, THE SETTLEMENT IS EXTREMELY FLAWED AND LEAVES VEHICLE OWNERS INADEQUATELY COMPENSATED IF THEIR VEHICLES ARE ABOVE A CERTAIN NUMBER OF MILES OR IF THE OWNERS MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR FILING CLAIMS. THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE CONSTITUTES A SIGNIFICANT AND DANGEROUS MANUFACTURING/ENGINEERING FLAW THAT SHOULD WARRANT A RECALL OF ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE ENGINE FAILURE THAT CAN OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE CAN EASILY LEAD TO AUTO ACCIDENTS AND POSSIBLE FATALITIES. I URGE THE DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION TO TAKE THIS MATTER VERY SERIOUSLY AND INVESTIGATE. A FULL RECALL AND COMPENSATION TO AFFECTED VEHICLE OWNERS SHOULD BE ORDERED.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-04-20
- VIN: WAUEFAFL4BN
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: MY VEHICLE WAS BURNING OIL FASTER THAN NORMAL. I HAVE SINCE HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE OIL CHANGES WERE DUE TO TOP OFF OIL DO TO SEVERAL LIGHTS COMING ON: "MIN OIL", "OIL PRESSURE TOO LOW". I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS EACH YEAR AS WELL AS PARTS REPLACED: PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE, CRANKSHAFT DAMPER AND SEAL. HAD A 40 POINT INSPECTION IN 2014 AT 44K MILES AND IN 2015 REQUESTED A MULTI INSPECTION AT 55K MILES. I HAD SEVERAL OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS AROUND THESES DATES: 3/714, 5/7/15, 11/12/15. AFTER THEY CHANGED OUT PARTS I HAD TO CHANGE 4 FUEL INJECTORS IN 2016. TO FAST FORWARD I HAD ALL OIL CHANGES ON TIME AND HAD TO ADD OIL SEVERAL TIMES IN-BETWEEN SERVICES. ON JAN 11, 2019 I HAD ANOTHER OIL CHANGE, THEY REPLACED MY OIL SENSORS AND BREAKS. 4 MONTHS LATER MY "LOW OIL LIGHT" KEPT POPPING UP WHEN I WOULD TURN. AFTER CHECKING THE OLD 4 TIMES IT KEPT READING 3/4 FULL OF OIL. AFTER I FELT THE CAR RUNNING STRANGE I PULLED OVER TO BUY OIL AND AT THIS POINT I CHECKED AND IT WAS BONE DRY. I PUT A QUART IN AND AT THIS POINT THE CAR WONT START. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST AUDI DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND A NEW TIMING SENSOR. THEY SAID THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE THE TIMING BELT HAD DONE CAUSED THE ENGINE TO NEED TOTAL REPLACEMENT. YET NEVER SPOKE ABOUT WHY THE OIL SENSORS KEPT GIVING THE WRONG READING. SINCE I HAVE OWNED MY CAR FROM AUG 2013 IT HAS BURNED MORE OIL THAN I WANT TO BELIEVE WHICH MAKES THIS CAR BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE AIR QUALITY.
STEERING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-05-06
- VIN: WAUDFAFL3BA
- Components: STEERING
- Summary: AS I AM MAKING A TURN ONTO ANOTHER STREET IN TOWN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, WHEN I COMPLETE A TURN IT WON'T WALK IT'S WAY BACK AROUND, YOU HAVE TO FORCE IT AROUND. I HAVE NEVER FELT SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE, IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE.
STEERING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-03-02
- VIN: WAUFFAFLXBN
- Components: STEERING
- Summary: ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING CAUSING UNSAFE INSTABILITY ON FREEWAYS. INTERMITTENTLY THE POWER STEERING ASSIST IS FAILING INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING THE DRIVER TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL BUT SOON AFTER THIS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST COMES BACK ON AND HENCE TURNING THE STEERING MORE THAN REQUIRED AND ENDING UP IN AN UNSAFE POSITION OR SWERVING ON FREEWAYS AND EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE AND CAN HAPPEN AT ANY MILEAGE WITH REPORTS OUT THERE ON CARS WITH LESS THAN 5K MILES. AUDI SHOULD HAVE A TSB AND RECALL FOR THIS.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2018-06-01
- VIN: WAUFFAFL4BN
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: TAKATA RECALL. I NOTICED THAT MY CAR CONSUMES LOTS OF OIL DUE TO THE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. ANYTIME I PERFORM OIL CHANGE, IT WON'T LAST LONGER THAN 7 DAYS.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2018-10-17
- VIN: WAUFFAFL5BN
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE
- Summary: I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AN INDEPENDENT DEALER THREE WEEKS AGO. 200 MILES INTO DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR AN INSPECTION AND OIL CHANGE. THE VEHICLE PASSED INSPECTION, BUT THE MECHANIC NOTED VERY LITTLE OIL IN THE VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH THE NEXT OIL CHANGE WASN'T FOR 4,000 MILES. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE 600 MORE MILES, THE CAR INDICATED LOW OIL AGAIN. IN 2015, AUDI LOST A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS ISSUE. IN THE SERVICE RECORDS, THIS VEHICLE UNDERWENT THE FIRST STAGE OF REPAIRS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE IN JAN 2017, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY EXTENSION GRANTED BY THE LAWSUIT. THE REPAIRS DID NOT WORK. AUDI HAS CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS THE ISSUE MOST LIKELY AFFECTING MY VEHICLE, AND THEY REFUSE TO COVER IT. MY VEHICLE IS BELOW THE MILEAGE SPECIFIED UNDER THE WARRANTY, BUT HAS MISSED THE YEAR SPECIFIED BY LESS THAN 3 MONTHS. THIS MEANS THAT AUDI KNOWINGLY AUCTIONED A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE WITHOUT FULFILLING THEIR WARRANTY OBLIGATIONS AND DECEPTIVELY PASSED THOSE OBLIGATIONS ON TO INDEPENDENT DEALERS, KNOWING THAT THE ISSUE WOULDN'T BE UNCOVERED IN AN INSPECTION. I'VE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT AUDI TO RESOLVE THIS AMICABLY, BUT THEY WONT GRANT AN EXCEPTION. THEY TOLD ME TO JUST KEEP PUTTING OIL IN THE CAR, BUT THE OIL BURNS AT SUCH A RAPID PACE, I WILL HAVE TO ADD NEW OIL EVERY 2 TANKS OF GAS. THIS WILL RESULT IN THOUSANDS OF EXTRA DOLLARS SPENT A YEAR. THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM IS CLAIMING THAT THEY'RE NOT RESPONSIBLE, BUT I SUSPECT THAT BOTH PARTIES WERE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAVE DECIDED TO PASS ON THE BURDEN TO THE CONSUMER. ALL I AM ASKING FOR IS FOR THEM TO CORRECT AN ISSUE THEY WERE ALREADY AWARE OF AND HAD ATTEMPTED TO FIX. THE WARRANTY MAY HAVE BEEN MISSED BY LESS THAN 3 MONTHS, BUT THIS ISSUE HAD BEEN IDENTIFIED PRIOR TO THAT. OTHERWISE, I WILL NEED TO SPEND $4,000+ TO HAVE THIS REPAIR.
ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2011-12-25
- VIN: WAUKFAFL4BN
- Components: ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: HELLO. THIS MODEL OF AUDI A4 2.0T 2011 HASE A BIG PROBLEM WITH OIL CONSUMPTION WHICH I THINK IS A THING THAT THE NHTSA NEEDS TO LOOK IN TO. FOR EXAMPLE : I DRIVE THE CAR 500 MILES AND THE OIL LIGHT COMES UP AND IS ASKING FOR 1QT OF OIL WHICH I THINK IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL . IVE CHANGE THE OIL IN OCTOBER AND IN 2 MONTHS DECEMBER I USE 5QT OF OIL TO REFILL OR TO ADD ON BECAUSE THE OIL LIGHT WAS TURNING ON . IVE TOOK THE CAR TO AUDI AND DID A FULL INSPECTION TO SEE IF I'M LOSING ANY OIL ANYWHERE AND THE RESULT WAS NEGATIVE. I'VE HERD THAT MY MODEL AUDI A4 2.0T 2011 HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE PISTONS RINGS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND BECAUSE OF THAT HE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS VERY HIGH. BUT JUST ON SOME AUDI A4 2.0T 2011 MODELS NOT ALL . I THINK AND I CAN PROVE THAT MY CARE HAS THIS ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE RECCAL BECAUSE THE OIL GOES IN THE ENVIRONMENT IN THE AIR WHICH IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM FOR THE QUALITY OF THE OXYGEN . I'M NOT SAYING THAT ONLY MY CAR BUT IF YOU GOOGLE MY MODEL YOU WILL BE SHOCKED OF HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION ON AUDI A4 2.0T 2011

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2014-11-30
- VIN: WAUAFAFL1BN
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: I OWN A 2011 AUDI A4. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2013. IT WAS OKAY WITH OIL FOR A YEAR BUT AFTER THAT I NOTICED IT WOULD NEED OIL MORE OFTEN THAN BEFORE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY TIME IT NEEDED OIL, WHICH WAS AROUND 900 MILES DRIVEN, AND THE DEALER TOLD US IT WAS NORMAL. AS OF TODAY I AM PUTTING ONE QUART OF ENGINE OIL EVERY 500 CITY MILES. I THINK IT IS USING WAY TOO MUCH OIL
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-10-24
- VIN: WAUEFAFL6BN
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: THE ENGINE WOULD STOP RUNNING WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET AND THE FREEWAY, EVERYTHING ELSE IS ON. HAPPENED TODAY 10/24/16 AND THREE TIMES WITHIN 10 MINUTES. RESTARTED CAR AND DROVE HOME. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE ON THE FREEWAY. *TR
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-10-10
- VIN: WAUEFAFL7BN
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: TIMING BELT TENSIONER FAILING AT UNDER 70K MILES BUT AUDI SUGGESTS THAT NO NEED TO PERFORM ANY TIMING BELT RELATED WORK BEFORE 120K MILES. THIS CAUSES CATASTROPHIC FAILURE ON THE ENGINE AND ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED. THERE ARE SEVERAL LAWSUITS AND COMPLAINTS IN SEVERAL STATES. I WANTED TO OFFICIALLY START THIS COMPLAIN AND I'M IN MISSOURI. THESE TENSIONERS AND CHAINS SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY OR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM SINCE VOLKSWAGEN KNEW THESE COMPONENTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND WOULD CAUSE PREMATURE AND OFTEN UNANNOUNCED EXPENSIVE ENGINE FAILURE. THIS IS EVIDENCED BY THE SUBSEQUENT REVISIONS TO THE TENSIONER AND CHAIN PERFORMED IN LATE 2011 IN AN EFFORT TO CORRECT THE ORIGINAL DEFECTS.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-05-02
- VIN: WAUWFAFL7BA
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- Summary: "DIPPED RIGHT HEADLIGHT" WARNING POPPED UP ON MY CAR, ON AND OFF FOR MONTHS. MY RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT WOULD WORK ONE DAY AND THEN "FAIL" THE NEXT. IT HAD BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS UNTIL IT FINALLY COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. MY BALLAST FAILED WHICH CAUSED HID/XENON LIGHT TO BURN OUT ON FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT. I HAVE READ THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING A LOT WITH THE HID/XENON LIGHT SYSTEMS AND THAT IT WAS PREVIOUSLY A RECALL ON EARLIER MODELS. WHEN SPEAKING TO AUDI, THEY SAID THIS HASN'T BEEN AN ISSUE AND THEY WILL NOT HELP WITH THE REPAIR COSTS. I WOULD FEEL A FRONT HEADLIGHT IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY TOOL TO HAVE WHEN DRIVING, AND HAVING TO PAY $700+ FOR A HEADLIGHT REPAIR IS NOT NORMAL IN MY OPINION. FOR ME THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND AUDI SHOULD BE ASSISTING WITH THE REPAIR COSTS.
ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-05-24
- VIN: WAUAFAFL2BN
- Components: ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: FOLLOW UP TO COMPLAINT 10852082. ONCE AGAIN MY CAR LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING POWER STEERING, THIS TIME IN THE MIDDLE OF MULTIPLE LANES OF FAST MOVING TRAFFIC. AFTER THE FIRST TWO TIMES, THE DEFECT WAS NOT IDENTIFIED BY THE DEALER. THIS TIME, AS I BROUGHT THE CAR IN RIGHT AWAY, THE COMPUTER DETECTED THAT THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO FAULTY CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS. THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND HOPEFULLY MY CAR WILL NOW BE FINE. SO HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS. IS THIS REALLY WHAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CEASE FUNCTIONING THREE TIMES? IF SO, HOW MANY OF THESE FAULTY CPS SENSORS ARE OUT THERE? IT IS JUST A FLUKE OR DO THEY WEAR OUT OR IS IT A BAD BATCH? SHOULD THERE BE A SENSOR THAT WILL STOP ALL POWER WITH NO WARNING? THIS LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO FORT LAUDERDALE AIRPORT WHERE ABOUT 6 LANES OF TRAFFIC COMES AROUND A CURVE AND DECELERATES FROM 55MPH TO 25 AS CARS APPROACH THE TERMINALS AND PARKING. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 45 GOING DOWN TO 15 BUT PEOPLE ARE MOVING PRETTY FAST. I WRESTLED THE CAR OVER AS OTHER CARS WERE STRUGGLING TO AVOID ME. ONCE I HAD THE CAR STOPPED, I REMOVED THE ELECTRONIC KEY, REINSERTED AND THE CAR STARTED BACK UP FINE.

- Summary: IGNITION COILS WENT OUT. CAR STOPPED ON BUSY STREET BUT WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO SIDE STREET. COME TO FIND OUT AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR THE COILS WERE RECALLED.. SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AT AUDI AND THEY VERIFIED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE COILS. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC),FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-03-28
- VIN: WAUAFAFL2BN
- Components: ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC),FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I just picked up my 2011 A4 Manual Quattro and I can't stop admiring it. It's such a stunningly gorgeous car that I'm even jealous of people outside who get to see it. The combination of finesse, power and style is simply the best. I'm not sure if car designs can improve much on this overall shape because after a certain point, aesthetic appeal gets lost in radical designs. I have the premium package which doesn't sport the LED lights, but without them, the headlights are leaner and more aggressive looking, which is intense. As for the interior, it's plush and solid while being supremely user-friendly after a quick run over of the controls.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with you regarding my search for an entry-level luxury sedan. I test drove a few different models, including the Infiniti G35 and Audi A4. While I had planned to test drive the BMW and Mercedes as well, I ended up falling in love with the A4 and purchasing it on the spot! However, after driving it for four months and over 6000 miles, I'm starting to question if it was the right decision for me. As a 5'11'' 175lbs male who commutes 38 miles one way to work, I find that while the front seats are comfortable, I can't seem to find a comfortable position for my elbows while holding the steering wheel. The placement of the elbow support on the left-hand side is especially problematic, as it's too far away from my elbow to be of any use. Even the right elbow support isn't great, although it's not as bad as the left one. Have you experienced anything similar? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

A sedan and sports car in one. Although it was beyond warranty and developed an oil consumption issue at 85,000 miles, Audi took ownership of the fault and rebuilt the engine at no cost to me. They also provided a beautiful car as a loaner. The car handles like a sports car and has plenty of power. It's a pleasure to own such a great car.

I'm so glad to hear that you loved your Audi! It's great to hear that you had no problems with it during the two years and 20K miles you had it. It's understandable that you wanted to try something new, but it's even better to hear that you missed your Audi and decided to get back in an A4 quattro. The handling and speed of the car sound amazing, and it's great that you enjoyed the pick-up. It's good to know that the minor issue with adding half a quart of oil at about 8K and 18K miles didn't cause any problems. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my old car. Although it was a blast to drive, I found that the yearly repairs, expensive gas, and oil consumption added up to at least $1,000. Unfortunately, when I sold it, it wasn't worth much. Have you had a similar experience?

The car is very comfortable, beautiful, and fun to drive. Although it does burn a lot of oil, about a quart every month, and the gear box gets clogged once in a while. The trunk also refused to close a few times, but it worked again the next day. Since I bought my 2011 A4 Quattro with 80k on board, I have already put in a couple of grand within one year due to sensors breaking, coolant fluid leaking, and more issues coming up with the brakes and removing window tint to pass NY inspection. The gas consumption is high at 23mpg, but we knew that. Despite all of this, I still love driving this car. I just wish it did not require so much expensive fixing.

My first Audi has left me impressed. The car is a joy to drive, with responsive engine and outstanding gas mileage. In my opinion, it is one of the best-looking cars in its segment, both inside and out. While I have put a lot of miles on the car, I have noticed some rattles and a piece of plastic came loose on the side of the dash by the driver's side door. Although I was disappointed to learn that integrity issues are only covered up to 12,000 miles, I am confident that Audi will take care of me as a valued customer.

Dealing with Audi, their staff is just awful. However, I understand your frustration with the emissions issue. It's disappointing to hear that this will be your last Audi/Volkswagen car. Is there anything I can do to help you find a better alternative?

The car has been performing well, but unfortunately, there have been some expensive repair costs and failures occurring on a well-maintained vehicle with under 100k miles. The car had some oil leaking issues, which were solved and covered by Audi. Additionally, there was a failed air conditioning unit at 60k miles and now, at 83k miles, a failed Turbo which is proving to be very expensive.
