Negative 2020 Volvo Xc60 car reviews

  1. Wilfred Greenfelder 2025-07-21

If you're considering purchasing a Volvo SUV, it may be worth doing some research on the electronics issues that some customers have experienced. Some have reported issues with the phone disconnecting from the system after a few hours, and others have had trouble with the radio turning on unexpectedly. While these issues can be frustrating, it's important to note that Volvo has been working to address them. If you do decide to purchase a Volvo SUV, be sure to ask the dealership about any known issues and what steps they are taking to resolve them.

  2. Ford Borer 2025-05-03

As a fellow Volvo enthusiast, I am sorry to hear about the issues you have been experiencing with your new XC60. It must be frustrating to have spent more time taking it to the dealership than enjoying it on the road. I can understand how disappointing this must be, especially given the price point of the car. It's great to hear that Stoneacre at Chesterfield have been helpful throughout this process. I hope that the issues with your car can be resolved soon so that you can fully enjoy all the amazing features and specifications that the XC60 has to offer. As a loyal Volvo customer, your feedback is valuable and I'm sure the team at Volvo will take it into consideration to improve their products in the future.

  3. Diamond Prohaska 2024-11-25

The Fusion red car looks great and the seats are comfortable, making for a comfortable drive on the freeway. However, there are some downsides to consider. The car is slow to accelerate and has a terrible lag when pressing the gas. Additionally, the infotainment system is not user-friendly and the ride can be harsh on bumps. The gas mileage is also not as good as advertised, averaging 23 mpg instead of the expected 25-26. While the car may look new and modern, the electronics and engine feel outdated and clunky. Unfortunately, reselling the car was impossible, even when priced 3k below book for 2 months. In the end, I traded it in for a Mercedes at a loss. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this car.

  4. Joan Larson 2024-11-14

Volvo will promptly order the necessary parts for their recalls. However, in the meantime, you may need to rent a vehicle. We recommend choosing an affordable rental option.

  5. Aidan Thompson 2024-10-16

Although the car has an attractive appearance, there are some issues with the system not booting up when the car is turned on, resulting in a lack of heat/AC or radio for approximately 15 minutes while driving. Additionally, the display screen only works with Android when the phone is physically plugged into the car, and the voice response is consistently unhelpful. However, I am confident that I will be able to resolve these issues and continue to enjoy driving this car. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Positive 2020 Volvo Xc60 car reviews

  1. Trent Spencer 2025-07-17

I'm still getting to know my car after having it for a month, but so far, I absolutely love driving it! One of my favorite features is the option to shift from Hybrid mode to Performance. It tightens up the steering and lowers the car, making it even more fun to drive. Admittedly, it did take me a little while to learn all the different driving options, but it was definitely worth it. Ultimately, I bought this car for three main reasons: 1) SPACE - I can fit everything from three car seats along the back seat to my dogs in the back to a very large stroller, groceries, etc. The built-in booster seat will be an added bonus as my grandchildren get bigger. 2) ACCESSORIES - The seats are super comfortable, the sunroof is amazing, and the sound system is top-notch. It's perfect for me and has tons of helpful features, like the adaptive cruise control and pilot assist that work extremely well. I also love all the camera views, especially the 360 overhead view, which is well calibrated and accurate. 3) GAS MILEAGE - I was initially worried about gas mileage, but I've charged it several times and I'm already at over 430 miles with 1/4 tank left and about 80 more estimated miles to go. I drive a combination of streets and highways, and the hybrid battery seems to contribute well to gas efficiency. Plus, the car isn't too big, so it's easy to maneuver in and out of tight spaces. The 360 overhead view is definitely a bonus - it gives me peace of mind when I'm a little concerned. Ultimately, I wanted a bigger car that could fit my two dogs and three young grandchildren (four and under) that was fun to drive and didn't guzzle gas like crazy. The XC 60 T8 Hybrid delivered everything I wanted and more!

  2. Joany Waelchi 2025-07-13

Congratulations on your purchase of a 2020 XC60 Momentum T6 through the Volvo overseas delivery program! We highly recommend this method of purchase as it saved us around $11k over the dealer sticker price. Although we had to wait a few months for delivery, it was worth it as the car arrived with only the extras we selected, without any unnecessary additions to inflate the price. The exterior styling is absolutely gorgeous, and we love the unique and beautiful denim blue paint color. The interior is also stunning, with perfect fit and finish, although it feels a bit tight. The leather seats are very comfortable and the car is well insulated from exterior sound. The ride is a bit stiff, as expected from an SUV, but it holds body roll to a minimum in corners. The engine is incredibly responsive and impressive at any rpm range, accelerating quickly. The 8-speed transmission with true overdrive gear shifts very smoothly and at logical points. The center display and computer-operated controls take some studying to learn, but we would prefer knobs/dials for easier operation. The center console storage compartment is located behind the driver's right arm, which can be a bit hard to access. The seat belt attachment to secure the belt is a bit too low and should have been extended by about 3 inches. The brake pedal feels a bit soft and takes some pressing to engage, but the car has big disk brakes. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend the Volvo overseas delivery program to anyone looking for a great deal on a beautiful car.

  3. Sammie Pfeffer 2025-06-28

I have a 2019 T5 Inscription. Overall, I really enjoy the car, but like any vehicle, it has its imperfections. Here are a few things that I've noticed: 1) The engine can be a bit loud and the shifting isn't always smooth in lower gears; 2) Responding to texts is only possible when connected to Android Auto/Apple Play; 3) The rain-sensing wipers require manual activation and aren't fully automatic. While these may seem like minor issues, when you're paying a premium price, you expect everything to be perfect. Additionally, I experienced a check engine light after only 500 miles, which was frustrating. However, the dealership was quick to provide me with a loaner car, which was greatly appreciated. Now, onto the things I love about the car: 1) The ride is smooth and quiet; 2) The center display is excellent and the technology is easy to use; 3) The safety features, such as lane assist and blind spot monitoring, are top-notch; 4) The gas mileage averages around 25 mpg; 5) My absolute favorite feature is the remote start from my phone, which is especially useful in Florida where I can cool down the car before getting in. Overall, I still really enjoy the car, but it's not without its flaws. I would definitely consider getting another one in the future. UPDATE: I've now had the car for over 2 years and put 26k miles on it. The technology is still great, but unfortunately, I've had a few issues. I had a second O2 sensor fail and the driver's door handle stopped working. The final straw was when the oil return rod broke, leaving a 2ft oil puddle in my garage. While I would love to continue driving a Volvo, experiencing 4 manufacturer flaws in 26k miles is unacceptable. My lease is up in 10 months and I'm currently researching other options.

  4. Johann Larson 2025-05-23

When searching for a new car to replace my 9-year-old Audi A4 3.2L Prestige S-Line, I considered many vehicles from different brands such as Audi, Mercedes, Mazda, VW, and Honda. After months of research, I finally decided on the Volvo XC60 T6 R-Design. We ordered the car in February of this year as a 2018 model year, but the 2019 model was delivered 4 months later. Thanks to Volvo, the dealership held the 2018 agreed price on the more heavily featured 2019 model. Although we strongly considered the T8 (hybrid) version, we ultimately rejected it because the new car is intended for highway trips and the additional 500lbs or so would hinder highway fuel mileage. With only 1500 miles on the R-Design, it has proven to be everything I had hoped it would be. It is a superbly comfortable and quiet highway cruiser that provides a safe, serene, solid, and even sporty-ish driving experience. Learning the new tech and interface in the center console takes a bit of homework, but once the preferences are set and the short learning curve is attained, controls seem logical and well laid-out. Steering wheel controls and voice commands handle the majority of routine functions such as radio/music selection and volume, cabin temperature, text message response, automatic cruise control, and Pilot Assist.) Favorite features so far include the auto-cruise control, head-up display, Bowers & Wilkins audio system, fuel economy, comfortable R-Design seats, and general driving dynamics. I do have a few nit-picky dislikes, such as the lack of a sunglasses holder in an overhead bin, and the somewhat unpleasant engine sound under moderately hard acceleration (although cruising noise is virtually silent). Also, I miss having a CD player (yes, I'm showing my age, but I have a lot of CDs).UPDATE: FOURTEEN MONTHS LATERThe XC60 continues to exceed my expectations. After several 600 mile round trips, puttering around town, and a total of 18,600 miles on the odometer, there are ZERO mechanical, electrical, interface, or infotainment issues. None. The R-Design has had one oil change service and software update (neither of which cost me anything) and another service is due in a couple of weeks. The engine has not used any oil in the roughly 9000 miles of use since the last oil change. The A/C system is terrific, cooling the interior quickly in these hot summer months. All the safety systems continue to function as advertised and impress my occasional work mate passengers. Interstate cruising is quiet, relaxing, and unstressful. Certainly the driver still needs to monitor the road and input steering as required, but the automatic cruise control and lane keeping systems help the miles melt by. Fuel mileage also continues in the upper 27-28 mpg range at interstate cruising speeds (70-75 mph), and strictly around town driving yields low 20s mpg. We continue to appreciate the very comfortable seats, excellent Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and roomy interior. The XC60 is the optimum size for us and our travel and commuting needs. Because this is my first experience, much less, my first ownership of a Volvo product, I was very skeptical. However, the vehicle has won me over and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. After living with it for nearly 18 months, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Volvo XC60 T6 R-Design! Even after almost three years and nearly 40k miles of ownership, the XC60 is still performing exceptionally well and providing excellent service. I have zero complaints or areas of concern, and there's even a trace of new-car-smell lingering. Although the free maintenance period is over, the last scheduled service was handled quickly and reasonably by the top-notch tech team at the dealership. I would highly recommend this Volvo to anyone looking for solid, reliable, efficient, and stylish transportation.

I recently upgraded from a 2017 2wd inscription demo that had a few extra options such as bliss, cross traffic alert, and a larger hatch. However, my 2019 model is a significant improvement over the previous one. Although I don't have the bliss or rear folding mirrors, I now have car play, awd (which is perfect for snowy conditions), 20
