Described as a 'light-duty' version of the Land Cruiser by Toyota, it features a different design compared to the full-size model and, up until 2023, it remains the only comfort-oriented Land Cruiser available with a short-wheelbase 3-door version.
As of 2023, the full-size Land Cruiser was available in many markets. Exceptions include the United States (since 2021), Canada (since 1996), Malaysia (which receives the Lexus LX instead), Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Brazil, and most of Europe. In Europe, the only countries where the full-size Land Cruiser is officially sold are Gibraltar, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. Well worth the price of admission! Everyone who sees and rides in it compliments it. This is my 4th Cruiser and I still believe they are the best SUVs out there, actually still made in Japan. I've owned 41 vehicles in 22 years and this is the finest overall one yet for its intended purpose.

I had leased a '99 LC but decided to move to a 2002 Toyota Sequoia due to its larger size and lower cost. However, I was disappointed with the Sequoia as it was too large and the fit and finish did not come close to the LC. Therefore, I traded it back for a 2006 LC and I am extremely satisfied with my decision. The LC has more features and the same attention to quality and reliability.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my 2002 Landcruiser. I absolutely love it! I did try trading it in for a 2005 BMW X5, but unfortunately, it didn't work out. The fuel gauge never worked properly and it just stopped one day. However, Toyota came to the rescue and gave me a 2006 version. Even though it wasn't the right fit for me, I'm so happy to be back in my Landcruiser. It's great on long trips, handles like a dream, and I've had absolutely no problems with it. As a single female, reliability is number one for me. Thanks for listening!

This is our first Land Cruiser and we absolutely love it! The quality of this vehicle is simply amazing. We feel very safe driving it. Although the gas mileage is not the best, the Land Cruiser offers so much more...luxury with flawless quality and dependability.

The navigation system has not been functioning since the purchase. Despite attempts by two separate dealerships to get it to operate, it has not been successful. It appears that the mechanics were not familiar with the system. The instructions provided were found to be confusing and inadequate.

I was impressed by the reliability ratings and reputation of this vehicle, so I decided to buy it. However, I now feel like I missed out on some style and features compared to other similar vehicles. Specifically, I miss having dual climate control, heated rear seats, and rain-sensing wipers. Additionally, the exterior styling is unattractive and the handling is poor with lots of sway. The sound system is also poor, especially when driving with the windows open. The SUV is big and bulky, lacking precision, and has a lot of plastic trim. Lastly, there is no in-dash CD changer and no auto-dimming outside rearview mirrors. Despite these drawbacks, I still appreciate the reliability and reputation of this vehicle.

$64,000 was the price and I'm questioning why I laid down that much money for this vehicle. While it is nice, it doesn't seem to justify the price tag. It drove well during the 10-minute test drive, but after 7 months, I'm starting to feel like it's not worth the investment. Additionally, there are many missing features that other reviewers have mentioned. The gas mileage is also well below the advertised range, which is disappointing. It would be great if Toyota could address these issues and make this vehicle more accessible to everyone.
