The Toyota Land Cruiser (Japanese: トヨタ・ランドクルーザー, Hepburn: Toyota Rando-Kurūzā) (also sometimes spelled as LandCruiser) is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota. It is Toyota's longest running series of models. As of 2019, the sales of the Land Cruiser totalled more than 10 million units worldwide.

Production of the first generation of the Land Cruiser began in 1951. The Land Cruiser has been produced in convertible, hardtop, station wagon and cab chassis body styles. The Land Cruiser's reliability and longevity have led to huge popularity, especially in Australia, where it is the best-selling body-on-frame, four-wheel drive vehicle. Toyota also extensively tests the Land Cruiser in the Australian outback – considered to be one of the toughest operating environments in both temperature and terrain. In Japan, the Land Cruiser was once exclusive to Toyota Japanese dealerships called Toyota Store.

Since 1990, the smaller variation of the Land Cruiser has been marketed as the Land Cruiser Prado. Described as a 'light-duty' version of the Land Cruiser by Toyota, it features a different design compared to the full-size model and, up until 2023, it remains the only comfort-oriented Land Cruiser available with a short-wheelbase 3-door version.

As of 2023, the full-size Land Cruiser was available in many markets. Exceptions include the United States (since 2021), Canada (since 1996), Malaysia (which receives the Lexus LX instead), Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Brazil, and most of Europe. In Europe, the only countries where the full-size Land Cruiser is officially sold are Gibraltar, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The Land Cruiser is hugely popular in the Middle East, Russia, and Australia, and also in Africa where it is used by farmers, the construction industry, non-governmental and humanitarian organizations, the United Nations, national armies (often the pickup version), and irregular armed groups who turn them into "technicals" by mounting machine guns in the rear. In August 2019, cumulative global sales of the Land Cruiser family surpassed 10 million units.

Negative 2013 Toyota Land cruiser car reviews

  1. Darrin Hayes 2024-10-20

The current model of this vehicle does not meet our expectations in terms of personality, character, instrumentation design, and exterior styling. Additionally, its similarity to the Highlander model and its price point do not justify its purchase. We recommend waiting for the next redesign.

Positive 2013 Toyota Land cruiser car reviews

  1. Peyton Renner 2025-07-15

This is my 3rd LC and so far it's the best and most powerful of the three. It's really fun to drive and my wife agrees that it's the best LC I've owned. I've had an 05 and an 06. It's a really well-built and solid vehicle. I would go on a long trip anytime with this car.

  2. Orville Waters 2025-07-09

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with the 2009 LC. The new engine and transmission are outstanding! However, I did find the interior design to be a bit disappointing. The three different colors make it feel like sitting in a cave, and the black dash is not my favorite. Additionally, I found it inconvenient that the 3rd row seats cannot be removed, which limits storage and hauling room. As someone who frequently hauls skis, golf clubs, luggage, and shops at Costco, this was a bit of a letdown. I think many owners may feel the same way, as the cramped 3rd row is not very practical for adult passengers. Thanks for listening to my thoughts!

  3. Cristina Roberts 2025-07-05

Simply a magnificent machine! It operates as advertised, and the on road manners are very refined. Off road it lives up to its reputation. The cabin comfort level is unsurpassed in my humble opinion. I truly like the understated exterior styling as it does not draw attention. The Country Club package is worth the extra money. Mileage is exactly as advertised. I can hardly keep my wife in the front seat as she loves the entertainment system in the back.

  4. Hillard Prosacco 2025-06-21

Gave my 2002 LC to my dad after 218,000 carefree miles. Only had to replace the timing belt and water pump at 100 and 200. New vehicle is a huge improvement in terms of interior and ride quality. Memory seats finally! Also, back seats adjust which is great for the kids. On the performance side, I towed my boat this weekend with no problems 120 miles on the highway. Seems solid with 7,880 problem free miles thus far.

  5. Jedediah Bahringer 2025-06-10

Following up on my post from May of 2011, I am happy to report that this SUV has performed flawlessly. Other than a few minor issues, reliability has been outstanding. Although my heart would love to look at a newer LC, my head says no way. This is a durable and solid performer that begs you to keep it until it can take no more, and that is likely many, many years from now. Ultimately, you get what you are willing to pay for, and in this case, it's worth every penny. This is the finest vehicle I have ever owned, and since this is my 25th vehicle over the past 33 years, that is saying a lot. Thank you for considering my experience with this amazing SUV.
