1995 Toyota Avalon problems

The Toyota Avalon (Japanese: トヨタ・アバロン, Hepburn: Toyota Abaron) is a full-size sedan produced by Toyota. It is Toyota's largest front-wheel drive sedan and serves as its flagship sedan in the United States, Canada, China and the Middle East. It was also produced in Australia from April 2000 until June 2005, when it was replaced in November 2006 by the Aurion. The first production Avalon rolled off the TMMK assembly line in Georgetown, Kentucky, in September 1994, and subsequent generations have all been manufactured at the Kentucky location to date.
Toyota marketed the Avalon as a replacement for the Cressida, a model discontinued for the American market in 1992. While the Cressida was an upper-level mid-size rear-wheel drive car with a straight-six engine, the Avalon is front-wheel drive, powered by a V6 engine. In recent years, there has been considerable overlapping with its platform mates, the Camry V6 and the Lexus ES, although the third-generation and subsequent Avalon was distinguished by offering extra legroom due to its extended-length chassis. From 2013, the Lexus ES was moved to the extended platform to match the Avalon.
As of 2013, the Avalon was sold in the United States, Canada, China, South Korea and the Middle East. It was discontinued in the United States in 2022.
Avalon is a legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend, fitting it in with Toyota's tradition of naming their sedans the word for "crown" in various languages (Crown, Corona, Camry, Corolla), types of crowns (Tiara), or other things associated with royalty (Scepter).

You have a great car! It's amazing that it's still running strong after all these years and miles. The only issue you had was a busted flex pipe in 2012, which is impressive. Although the interior may not be perfect, it's spacious enough to comfortably fit five people, and the trunk space is superb. The car's performance is also impressive, with great acceleration when PWR ETC is engaged and overdrive is off. Even at highway speeds, the car is surprisingly maneuverable. It's impressive that your car can keep up with low-end luxury sedans like the Mercedes C class 250 and BMW 5. Well done!

I replaced an older Camry with this car because of its reliability and rear seat legroom. I have owned this car for 5 years/75K miles and it is now 19 years old with 216K miles on the clock. Unlike other cars I have owned, this one has proven to be incredibly reliable. I do all the basic maintenance myself and it has never let me down. Running on 100% gas, I have achieved as good as 26mpg combined and 29mpg on the highway. Even on ethanol gas, I get 22mpg combined.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my 95 Toyota Avalon. I bought it back in 2004 when I was only 19 years old from a mechanic in Phenix City, Alabama. Despite the fact that the car had 178,000 miles and was salvaged, I decided to take a chance on it and I'm so glad I did! This car has been through a lot - it's been rearended several times, keyed on multiple occasions, and has plenty of dents - but it's still going strong and has taken me on some amazing road trips. I have to admit, I'm not the best at taking care of my vehicles, but this car has been so reliable that I haven't had any problems with it. The only thing I've changed since buying it is the speakers and tape player - I replaced them with an Alpine CD player, a Roady XM radio (OnA202), and new Pioneer speakers. Overall, I absolutely love this car and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and long-lasting vehicle.

This car may not be fancy, but it's reliable and gets the job done. With 171k miles on it, it still looks and runs like the day it was made. Although there is some surface rust on the rear wheel well passenger side, it has held up well despite spending 21 years in the rust belt of central PA. The CD and cassette/radio still work and sound great, and the trunk is spacious enough to fit all your needs. Even after 8 months of ownership and 6k miles driven, the only thing I've had to do was change the oil. The car handles snow and ice with ease, thanks to its front wheel drive. I even plan on investing in new front struts and coils this summer to keep it running smoothly. Overall, I have complete faith in this car and have invested over $1000 in it, even though it's only blue booked at $1400. It's my everyday car and I find it to be a great fit for me, especially since I am disabled. The Avalon is a forgiving car and the struts and coils have helped with handling and firmness for hauling my scooter. It's hard to believe that this car is 22 years old!

914000 miles on the original engine and 3rd transmission, and it still runs great! I am the original owner and have averaged 54000 miles a year.
