1995 Chevrolet Truck and van unk problems
This page lists vans currently in production (as of 2013) as well as past models. Unlike a pickup truck, The list includes minivans, passenger vans and cargo vans.
Note: Many of the vehicles (both current and past) are related to other vehicles in the list. A vehicle listed as a 'past model' may still be in production in an updated form under a different name, it may be listed under that name in the 'currently in production' section. Also, some vehicles are sold under different marques in different geographical locations, therefore some vehicles may be listed more than once but usually link to the same page. Different states may also classify vehicles differently. What may be considered a van in one state, may not in another state. Example; The Dacia Lodgy is known as the Nissan Lodgy in the Philippines.

Common 1995 Chevrolet Truck and van unk problems
Chevrolet Trucks and Vans from the 1995 model year are known for their durability and reliability, but like any vehicle, they can experience common problems. Here are some of the most frequently reported issues with 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans, based on complaints from owners:
- Power Window Motor Failure: One of the most common problems with 1995 Chevrolet vans is the failure of the power window motors. The driver's side window motor has been reported to fail three times, while the passenger side window motor has failed twice. This issue is often caused by wear and tear on the window motor, which can lead to a loss of power and difficulty operating the windows.
- Transmission Problems: Some 1995 Chevrolet Silverado trucks have experienced issues with their transmission, causing them to only drive in reverse. This issue can be caused by low transmission fluid or a more serious problem with the transmission itself.
- Excessive Oil Consumption: 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience excessive oil consumption, which can lead to engine damage if not addressed. This issue is often caused by worn-out piston rings or valve guides, which can allow oil to leak into the combustion chamber.
- Steering Wheel Position Sensor Failure: 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado and Sierra trucks may experience steering wheel position sensor failure, which can cause a service stability message to appear on the dashboard. This issue can be caused by wear and tear on the sensor or a more serious problem with the steering system.
- Windshield Wiper Motor Component Failure: 1990-1999 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience windshield wiper motor component failure, which can cause the wipers to stop working intermittently. This issue is often caused by a defective wiper motor control board, which can be replaced to fix the problem.
- Coolant Leaks or Oil Leaks From Intake Manifold Gaskets: 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience coolant leaks or oil leaks from intake manifold gaskets, which can lead to engine damage if not addressed. This issue is often caused by wear and tear on the gaskets, which can be replaced to fix the problem.
- Broken Door Handles: 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience broken door handles, which can make it difficult to open or unlock the doors. This issue is often caused by wear and tear on the door handles, which can be replaced to fix the problem.
- Idling Problems: 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience idling problems, including a higher-than-normal engine idle. This issue is often caused by a vacuum leak in the throttle body gasket, which can be replaced to fix the problem.
- Abnormal Noise From the Front or Rear Differential: 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience abnormal noise from the front or rear differential, which can be caused by worn bearings or another fault. This issue can be fixed by replacing the axle bearings or doing a full rebuild of the affected differential.
- Alternator Failure: 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans may experience alternator failure, which can cause the battery to die and an abnormal noise to occur. This issue can be fixed by replacing the alternator, which typically costs around $300 to $400.
While these issues are common, they do not necessarily affect all 1995 Chevrolet trucks and vans. Regular maintenance and inspections can help prevent these issues and ensure that your vehicle stays in good working order.

VISIBILITY PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2000-10-01
- VIN: 2GCEC19K1S1
- Components: VISIBILITY
- Summary: WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL WORK INTERMITTENTLY AND SOMETIMES, NOT AT ALL. I SAW THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 98V150001 AND IT DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM EXACTLY. TOOK THE TRUCK TO MARK CHRISTOPHER AND THEY SAY THAT MY VIN IS NOT ON THE LIST. THEY DID POINT OUT THAT THE DEFECTIVE PART IS A 12463017 PULSE BOARD WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT IS BEING REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL. THEY SAY THAT THEY CANNOT REPLACE MINE SINCE MY VIN IS NOT ON THE LIST AND IT WILL COST ABOUT $140.00 TO FIX. I SUSPECT THAT GM HAS SELECTED TOO SMALL OF A VIN LISTING AND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED CHEVROLET AT 1-800-222-1020 AND THEY BASICALLY SAID " IT IS NOT ON THE VIN LIST - SORRY". THEY MADE A FILE FOR MY CALL - IT IS FILE # C02791138. THAT WAS DONE TODAY, 1/8/01.*AK
