2013 Suzuki Kizashi problems

The Suzuki Kizashi is a mid-size car manufactured by Japanese automaker Suzuki. It was unveiled in the United States on July 30, 2009. The Kizashi went on sale in Japan on October 21, 2009, in North America on December 1, 2009, and in Australia and New Zealand on May 11, 2010. It is the first mid-size Suzuki automobile sold in the Australian market. In February 2011, the Kizashi became available to the Indian market. The car was also available in European markets.
In December 2013, Suzuki announced that the Kizashi would be gradually discontinued in global markets, and would not get a successor. In December 2014, the production of the car ceased in the Sagara plant. Despite a good technical record, the car had suffered from poor sales because of the global financial crisis and Suzuki's withdrawal from the American and Canadian markets in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Etymology

- CVT Problems: Owners reported problems with the continuously variable transmissions (CVT) in the Suzuki Kizashi, especially in hot weather conditions. When the OCS fails to detect passengers correctly, it can impact the proper deployment of airbags, posing a safety risk.

I'm glad to hear that you've been enjoying your Kizashi! It's always great to find a car that exceeds your expectations. Even though you've always been a Honda person, it's nice to see that the Suzuki Kizashi has won you over. Thanks for sharing your positive experience with us!

This car is amazing! I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The design is turning heads and the steering ratio is fantastic. The AWD system is like no other, even better than the Subaru which I owned three of before. It handles sharp turns like a dream, just like the Evo but without the high price tag. The snow handling is also impressive. Mine is the Metallic Black and it looks very handsome. It's time for everyone to join the world's love affair with this car. The power is perfect and I don't need more horsepower, especially since it gets a surprising 36 MPG on the highway (I was shocked since AWD is listed for 29 MPG). I love the leather and the classy Audi interior. You can tell that every part used is of high quality, even the tires. Best of all, there are very few on the road. I would definitely buy it again, but don't you buy it because I want to be the only one :)

Congratulations on your purchase! It's great to hear that you're enjoying your white Kizashi. The steering is definitely one of the standout features of this mid-sized sedan, and it's wonderful to hear that you're finding it so fluid. The interior quality is also excellent, and it's great to hear that you're finding it so quiet. It's also impressive that you're averaging 27 MPG around town and 32 MPG on the highway. It's no surprise that you're getting inquiries about your car - it's a fantastic choice!

I tested a Sonata, Camry, Accord and Optima. After years of buying just Honda and Kia, I decided to take a chance on one of Japan's top-selling manufacturers. And it paid off! I absolutely LOVE this car! It's a fun ride, and the comfort is great for someone like me (6'4). The engine is very peppy, and the car looks sweet inside and out!

This car is great! The team at Suzuki of Manchester were so helpful and answered all of my questions, even the ones I didn't know I had! I love the way the car feels while driving on city streets, and it looks luxurious - especially with me inside it! ;)

This car was one of the first to have push-to-start technology, which was still being developed at the time. While I owned this car, I faced some frustrating moments when the dashboard error code caused the on/off engine button to malfunction, resulting in the car not starting. However, apart from this minor issue, I loved this car. Unfortunately, after just three months of owning it, the entire transmission failed. The cost of repairing it, including sourcing a used one, was more than what I had paid for the car, so it was essentially totaled. I have owned cars with conventional automatic transmissions my whole life and have never had a transmission problem. This was my first CVT car, and within three months, the transmission failed. If CVTs are not properly maintained, they can fail. I have given this car a one-star review for its operating issues, and it is now sitting in a junkyard. It is a shame because if this car had a normal automatic transmission, I am sure the little 4-cylinder motor would have run just fine for ages. I loved the little button that allowed me to switch from FWD to AWD, the sound system, the seats, and the styling. Beware of the CVT version of this car.
