2008 Pontiac Grand prix problems
The Grand Prix is a line of automobiles produced by the Pontiac Division of General Motors from 1962 until 2002 as coupes and from 1989 through 2008 model years as four-door sedans.
First introduced as a full-size performance coupe for the 1962 model year, the model varied repeatedly in size, luxury, and performance during its production. The Grand Prix was the most expensive coupe Pontiac offered until the 1970s, when the Bonneville Brougham and the Firebird Trans Am became more exclusive. Among the changes were positioning in the personal luxury car market segment and mid-size car offering from the second generation to the fifth generation for the sedan and from the second generation to the sixth generation from the coupe.
All Grand Prixs from 1962 through 1972 were pillarless hardtops (except for the 1967 convertible),

Common 2008 Pontiac Grand prix problems
The 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix has been known to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. One of the most frequently reported issues is related to the transmission pressure control solenoid failure, which can cause erratic shifting. This problem has been reported by many owners, and it can lead to a significant decrease in the overall driving experience.
Another common problem with the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix is related to the intake manifold gaskets, which can leak coolant or engine oil. This issue can lead to a decrease in engine performance and can also cause the engine to overheat, potentially leading to more serious engine problems.
The 7th generation Grand Prix has low beam headlights that can suddenly shut off even though the lights themselves are perfectly fine. The issue is a defective headlamp driver module, which is responsible for distributing power to the lights. This can be a significant safety issue, particularly when driving at night or in low-light conditions.
The 2008 Grand Prix has also been known to have issues with the HVAC system, with many owners reporting problems with the climate control system, including issues with the heater and air conditioning.
The steering system in the 2008 Grand Prix has also been reported to have issues, with many owners reporting problems with the power steering system, including issues with steering fluid leaks and problems with the steering rack and pinion.
Finally, the 2008 Grand Prix has also been known to have issues with the electrical system, with many owners reporting problems with the battery, alternator, and starter motor. These issues can lead to problems starting the car, as well as problems with the car's electrical systems, including the lights, radio, and other electrical components.
In summary, the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix has been known to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. These issues include problems with the transmission, intake manifold gaskets, headlamp driver module, HVAC system, steering system, and electrical system. While some of these issues can be relatively minor, others can lead to significant decreases in the overall driving experience and can potentially lead to more serious problems if left unaddressed.

FROM READING THE PAPER I WAS SENT EXPLAINING ABOUT THE RECALL .. I FEEL THAT IF MY CAR IGNITION IS GOING TO THE "RUN" POSITION, BY ITSELF, THEN THE KEY RINGS AND RUBBER INSERT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IF YOU NEED ANY FURTHER INFO PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANK YOU .IT IS ASKING DOWN BELOW "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" ..I HAVE SEVERAL DATES, IT WILL ONLY LET ME CHOOSE ONE.

2008 Pontiac Grand prix recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 1 recalls for different components of the 2008 Pontiac Grand prix.
- Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
- Summary: This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) notified the agency on July 3, 2014, that they are recalling 5,877,718 model year 2000-2005 Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo, 1997-2003 Chevrolet Malibu, 2004-2005 Malibu Classic, 1999-2004 Oldsmobile Alero, 1998-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue, 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am and 2004-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles. In these models, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 9, 2014. GM's number for this recall is 14350.

The GXP is a fantastic American sports sedan that can truly compete with the high-priced, over-designed, and excessively engineered German products, particularly the BMW 5 series. The 08 GXP offers sweet and enjoyable performance handling, acceleration, and braking without being too rigid or over the top. On certain road bumps, the 08 GXP may feel a little untamed, as it tends to roll over instead of providing a smart, crisp dip. However, this is not a major issue. The only concern I have is with the tires, as they come in 2 different sizes and there is no tire rotation or spare. Overall, the 08 GXP is a smart, sweet, and gorgeous car.

As a long-time Pontiac fan, I was considering the new G8, but after researching other cars that Pontiac had to offer, I discovered the 2008 Grand Prix. It comes with all the standard equipment you need at an affordable MSRP of $22,210. Now is a great time to consider this automobile, especially since it was the last year of the Grand Prix. When I purchased my new Grand Prix on 8-8-2008, Pontiac offered a great cash rebate or fair financing. Dealerships are willing to work with you on your final purchase price. Thank you for considering this option.

The 2008 grand prix is the best car I have ever owned. I absolutely love driving it! It's a shame that Pontiac is no longer around, but maybe it will make a comeback one day. I really appreciate the looks and power of this car. The designer should be proud of their work. It's a great example of American power and muscle, with fantastic looks.

I purchased this car used last February. It's a speedy ride with a tight suspension, although it can be a bit bumpy at times. I really like the look of the exterior, especially with the factory wheels, but I think it would look even better with some different wheels. Unfortunately, the interior is a bit of a letdown. While the seats are nice, the plastic throughout the car is a bit annoying and it seems like Pontiac didn't put much effort into it. Overall, it's a great car, but it could have been amazing if more attention was paid to the interior. On the plus side, it has good fuel economy for a 5.3 L V-8.

Hello! I really appreciate the interior and the sound of the V8 engine in this car. However, I have had a few issues with it. I have had to tow it to the dealership twice and had some steering issues that required repairs three times at the shop and twice at home. Unfortunately, I have also experienced some broken rims and blown tires due to the low profile of the tires and the rough roads in Michigan. Despite these issues, I still manage to get an average of 21 MPG, which is not too bad considering my daily 90-mile round trip to work, of which 70 miles are on the highway. I am a bit worried about driving it now, but I am grateful for the time I have had with it. I still owe $11g on it, but I am hoping to find a new owner who will appreciate it as much as I have. Thank you, Motor City!

Hi there! As a young professional, I was in the market for a car to take clients out and I test drove a few options including a gently used Maxima, a TSX, and an IS 250. I really liked all of them, but I was pleasantly surprised by the GP GXP. The V8 power, handling, and options of this car far outperformed the others and it was also around $8,000 less! While the car isn't perfect and has some cheap materials on the interior, the performance and options you get for the value far outweigh the negatives. The only downside is that the fuel economy isn't great and there is some torque steer due to front wheel drive, but it's not intolerable. Overall, I highly recommend the GP GXP for anyone looking for a great value and impressive performance. Let me know if you have any questions!

This is my 4th Pontiac and I really like the brand, but unfortunately, this particular car has required warranty work 3 times already, and other repairs about 2 times in just 2 years. That seems like a lot to me, especially since my last Pontiac went 4 years before needing any repairs. I am a little disappointed and unsure if I will keep this car, depending on how many more problems I encounter. I have experienced power steering problems, constant brake issues, and even had to replace the wheel bearings, all before the car reached 50,000 miles. It's a shame that cars aren't made like they used to be.
Hobart Kulas 2024-04-18
Driving this car in the summer was a lot of fun, but unfortunately, it did not perform well on snow and ice, especially in Michigan. As a result, it was not safe to use on the freeway during the winter. Additionally, there has been a constant squeaking noise coming from the front tire for over a year now, despite three visits to the dealership and new brakes. There have also been two instances of an electronic system failure warning popping up on the dash display, which can be concerning when driving on the freeway every day. Overall, it seems like there have been too many issues for a new car.

I've only had this car for 6 days, and I must say, I'm really enjoying it so far! The highway was nice and quiet, and the radio was a great companion. Every time I get behind the wheel, I feel a rush of excitement - it's definitely the newest car I've ever owned, and it has more power than I'm used to, but I'm doing my best to conserve fuel. One thing I really appreciate is how roomy it is - there's plenty of space for everyone. The car definitely has some get-up-and-go, although I haven't taken it on a long highway trip yet. I also love the cockpit feel and how everything is centered around me as the driver - it's easy to access all the information I need. If I had one small criticism, it would be that I wish the buttons felt a bit sturdier and less plastic-y. I want this car to last and look good for a long time! Looking to the future, I hope that the car industry will continue to innovate and bring back more environmentally-friendly options like CNG or hydrogen cars for zero emissions. I've owned two Pontiacs in the past, but I have to say, this car is quickly becoming my new favorite!
