HAD I BEEN IN ONE OF THE CENTER LANES THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A CRASH, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN UNAVOIDABLE, THE REAR BRAKES WERE STILL FUNCTIONAL AND I STILL HAD LIMITED BRAKING ABILITY. AT THE POINT THAT THIS LINE ACTUALLY BROKE, IT WAS SPRAYING BRAKE FLUID DIRECTLY ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. I AM NOT CERTAIN WHETHER THERE WAS A FIRE, THE MECHANIC SAYS THERE MAY HAVE BEEN. THERE CERTAINLY WAS A LOT OF SMOKE. THE LINE IN QUESTION IS SECURED TO THE FIREWALL AND IS ROUTED CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST AT THAT POINT. IT APPEARS THAT OVER TIME THIS COMBINATION ALLOWS CORROSION TO WEAKEN THE LINE AT THIS PARTICULAR POINT. THE REMAINING LINES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND I BELIEVE THEY WILL LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. *JS

THE TECHNICIAN OBSERVED A SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL SPILLING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND A HOLE WAS FOUND IN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V349000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE;STORAGE), ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE IDENTICAL. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,415.

SOME INCLUDE FLASHING HEADLIGHTS, FAILURE OF DOOR LOCKS, STEREOS AND SECURITY LIGHTS TURNING ON/OFF. I SEE FROM THE VARIOUS POSTS THAT SOME OWNERS HAVE REPLACED THE BCM AS WELL AS WIRING HARNESS' THAT HAVE MOISTURE. THERE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE A SOLID FIX AS I SEE SOME POSTS ARE RECURRING. Seating comfort is fantastic, especially for someone with lumbar problems. The overall flexibility of this vehicle is phenomenal. It's a real shame that GM didn't make a rear-end styling change (smooth it out, improve visibility and overall attractiveness) early on. I decided to buy a 'nearly-new' '02 instead of a '03 due to price/option considerations. I guess I'll be considering a Rendezvous in the future?!!

I bought the Aztek after a lot of research based on feedback from actual owners, and now I know I definitely made the right choice. I don't mind if others don't like it, as I'm the one who drives it, and as long as I'm happy, that's all that really matters! My four grandchildren, aged from 2 to 11, absolutely love riding in it, and everyone who has ever ridden with me has been pleasantly surprised.

After purchasing the vehicle, I must say that although it may not be the most appealing, it's like finding a pearl inside a shell. I absolutely love that the seats are removable, and my two Weimaraners adore all the extra space. I can't even count how many times I could have used the tent in the past. The features are fantastic, and the ride is simply wonderful. I would choose this over a minivan any day, as we have almost the same amount of room. If you're looking for a luxury SUV, the Aztek may not be for you. However, if you're in the market for an SUV for skiing, hiking, camping, canoeing, road trips, or tailgating, then the Aztek is the perfect choice!

I recently had to replace the rear hatch shocks, brake safety switch, front passenger side wheel axle, and thermostat. Unfortunately, the rear defrost doesn't work and the hatch is hard to close. It can be frustrating when things need fixing, especially when it can be expensive to go to a dealer. I understand how you feel, but don't give up just yet. I've had my Aztek AWD for 8 months now and it's been an absolute pleasure to drive and enjoy. Although my wife wasn't a fan at first, she's now the Aztek's biggest supporter. The first snow and drive through the messy streets of Pittsburgh was a real test, but the vehicle is well-designed and built to handle harsh winter conditions. We've taken several long trips to Savannah (GA), New Orleans (LA), and Toronto (CA) without any problems. At a price of $19,600 (with 17' wheels), this car is truly the best buy for its class. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking to make a difference.
