2015 Nissan Quest problems
The Nissan Quest is a minivan manufactured and marketed by Nissan for model years 1993–2017 over four generations.
The first two generations (internally designated V40 and V41) of the Quest were short-wheelbase models co-developed and manufactured with Ford, aside its badge engineered Mercury Villager. For model year 2004 and the third generation (V42), Nissan ended its joint venture with Ford, manufacturing the Quest on its own. For model year 2011, the fourth generation (RE52) became a widened variant of the Nissan Elgrand minivan and was now manufactured in Japan. For the preceding generations, the Quest loosely shared its chassis and powertrain with the Nissan Maxima.
Following the decline of minivan sales in North America, Nissan ended sales of the Quest after the 2017 model year.

Common 2015 Nissan Quest problems
The Nissan Quest, produced from 1993 to 2017, is known for its reliability and popularity in the used vehicle market. However, certain model years have specific issues that tend to appear more frequently. The most common problems across various model years include transmission-related issues and engine noises.
Transmission problems are a significant concern for Nissan Quest owners. The minivan can develop various issues such as hesitation when shifting gears, rough transitions during a shift, abrupt deceleration, reduced acceleration, and transmission failure.
Engine noises, particularly rattling sounds, are another common problem for Nissan Quest owners. These unpleasant noises are often caused by worn-out timing chains, timing chain guides, or timing chain tensioners.
Brake problems can also occur in the Nissan Quest, with some brake issues showing up fairly often in certain model years. While Nissan Quest brakes are generally reliable, brake problems can cause significant safety concerns for drivers.
The 2004 and 2007 Nissan Quest model years are considered the worst for reliability, with more complaints and higher repair costs.
In summary, the Nissan Quest is generally considered a reliable minivan, but certain model years, particularly the 2004 and 2007, have specific issues that tend to appear more frequently. Transmission problems and engine noises are the most common issues across various model years, with brake problems also being a concern in some cases. POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-10-31
- VIN: JN8AE2KPXF9
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: The passenger side curtain airbag spontaneously stopped working. The airbag warning light started flashing on the dashboard, and we took it in to the dealership. They reset the code warning, but the light came on again. They said they needed to replace the airbag after trying to replace the sensor and having the same issue. The van has not been in any accidents or had any side impacts and has about 72,000 miles on it. Nissan refuses to cover any part of the $3,000 repair cost since the manufacturer warranty expires at 60,000 miles. The dealership advised us that since there's an issue with one airbag, it's possible that no airbags would deploy in the event of a crash. So the airbag or airbag system is faulty and possibly has been all along, but we just now got the warning light. Obviously driving a car without working airbags is incredibly unsafe, and Nissan doesn't seem to think they should have to stand behind their products or consumers to fix the issue and ensure their safety.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM

TOOK VAN BACK TO DEALER ON THURSDAY AUGUST 8, TO CHECK OUT THE SHAKING, THEY ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A BROKEN BELT IN ONE OF THE TIRES, AND THAT CAUSES THE SHAKING. AT THAT TIME, WE BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION ABOUT THE MIXTURE OF TIRES ON VAN. AND WE ALSO ADV THAT THE REAR TIRE WAS CRACKED, AND LEAKING AIR PER DUNN TIRE. WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VAN, THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED US THAT THE VAN WAS CERTIFIED AND HAD A DETAILED INSPECTION. ON THE CERTIFIED PRE OWNED INSPECTION CHECKLIST IT READS AS FOLLOWS. THE TREAD DEPTH WAS AT 5-32. HOW COULD MIKE BARNEY NISSAN CERTIFY THE VEHICLE, WITH A COMBINATION OF DIFFERENT TIRES ON THE VAN? THIS WAS A DANGER TO MY WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN, WHILE THEY WERE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY.. WHEN WE PICKED UP THE VAN ON AUGUST 13, THE CAN HAD 4 BRAND NEW TIRES. - VIN: JN8AE2KPXF9
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ENGINE
- Summary: OUR 2015 NISSAN QUEST WITH 47500 MILES ON IT STARTED MAKING A BAD NOISE ON SUNDAY 3/26/18, AND HESITATING AS I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 KIDS BACK FROM A SHORT TRIP. IT WAS A HORRIBLE SENSATION TO NOT KNOW IF I COULD MAKE IT HOME SAFE WITH MY KIDS. TOOK IT TO NISSSN TO CHECK IT OUT ON MONDAY 3/27/18. I GOT A CALL TODAY TO TELL ME THAT THE RADIATIOR GAR A LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT. I NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, AND RADIATOR. TOTAL REPAIR COST ALMOST $6000. THEY SUBMITTED A CLAIM UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH WAS TURNED DOWN BY NISSAN BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THE TRANSMISSION THAT FAIL ON IT\\\\\\\'S OWN. BUT, PROVOKED BY THE LEAK BY RADIATOR, WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUG. 17. AND, CANNOT BELIEVE THAT NISSAN IS GETTING AWAY WITH NOT FIXING THIS KNOWN ISSUE ON THEIR FAULTY RADIATORS ON MANY OF THEIR VEHICLES. I CANNOT AFFORD THE 6K TO FIX IT. SO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WILL DO.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-03-26
- VIN: JN8AE2KP4F9
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: ON MARCH 26TH 2016, AT 2:31PM, I SAT IN THE VEHICLE, TURNED THE VEHICLE ON AND PUT IT IN THE DRIVE GEAR. WHILE MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL FORWARD. I IMMEDIATELY CHECKED WHETHER THE GEAR WAS IN FACT IN THE DRIVE MODE, AND BOTH THE DASHBOARD AND GEAR BOX SYMBOLS CONFIRMED. I TRIED TO STEP ON THE BREAKS, BUT THE BREAKS SEEMED TO ALREADY BE DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN AND LOCKED IN THAT POSITION. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER BRAKING CAPABILITIES. AFTER SEEING THAT I HAD NO CONTROL OVER ITS ROLLING MOTION, I QUICKLY DEPRESSED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE IGNITION OFF. I WAS PROMPTED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK MODE. I SHIFTED THE GEAR TO PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. WHILE TRYING TO RESTART IT, THE VEHICLE'S BREAK WAS STILL COMPLETELY DEPRESSED, ALTHOUGH I TRIED TO DEPRESS IT FURTHER WITH MY FOOT AND SNAP IT BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. AFTER A COUPLE OF ATTEMPTS OF CONTINUING THIS ACTION, THE BRAKES FINALLY SEEMED TO UNLOCK AND RELEASED BACK INTO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. I HAD REGAINED CONTROL OVER THE BRAKING CAPABILITIES OF THE VEHICLE. NEXT, I RELEASED THE EMERGENCY BREAK AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVE GEAR ONCE AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE APPROPRIATELY THEREAFTER.

We have owned two Nissan Quests, a 2004 and a 2015, and both have been exceptional vehicles. They are comfortable, reliable, and have low maintenance costs. Although the resale value is not great, we plan to drive our current one until it can no longer go. There is no sense in trading or selling it.

I hope you're enjoying your Nissan Quest! :)

The van is absolutely fantastic! The interior design is outstanding, and it's so comfortable to ride in. I especially love the storage well in the rear floor - it's the perfect size for my electric cart. Getting in and out is a breeze, and the seats are super comfy. The big windows all around the van provide great visibility. The only downside is that the gas mileage is a bit lower than expected. At around 14,000 miles, I had to replace the tires - the dealer paid for two and I paid for two. It turns out there was a defect in the tires, which caused them to wear down too quickly. Despite that, at 30,000 miles, I still love the van. I'm just disappointed that Nissan has discontinued the Quest. So far, I haven't had any problems with the van - all I've done is have the oil changed every 3,000 miles. Even at 36,000 miles, I still love the van, although it's starting to show some wear and tear. The rubber trim/seal around the nameplate on the entry on the floor is coming loose, and there's a small rip/tear on the armrest in the center console area. But overall, I'm still very pleased with the van. If Nissan had continued making the Quest, I would have traded this one in. However, I'm just hanging on to this one because there's nothing on the market today that offers the same features for the price. I looked at and seriously considered a Ford Explorer, Ford Flex, and Toyota van, but they're all too expensive. As of 7/31/2018, with just over 40,000 miles, I still love this van!! I haven't had any serious problems with it in 5 years of driving. The only thing I'm disappointed in, other than the few minor interior issues I mentioned earlier, is the gas mileage. I wish I got closer to the estimated EPA mileage. But overall, there's not too much to complain about. At the moment, the baby is in the body shop to repair a bit of side swipe damage to the passenger side rear panel. Some gentleman decided that merging onto the bridge didn't mean 'Yield' despite the signs. I managed to almost get by him. I'm currently driving a loaner, a 2018 Chevy Equinox, which is a bit of a letdown. It has too much road noise and is difficult to get in and out of - I have to go in head first and then drag my legs in. As of February 23, 2019, I'm approaching 42,000 miles on the van. Surprisingly, I need new tires again. The original tires were replaced at 14,000 miles, so after only 28,000 miles, I'm down to 4/32 tread, which means it's time to think about new tires. I'm not sure what the mileage rating was on the Firestone tires the dealer used to replace the original tires. As of August 27, 2019, I still love the van. I've been looking for something a bit newer since this one is now 6 years old. I'm surprised and disappointed in the low value, despite the low mileage. I've been considering a Dodge Grand Caravan, but so far, I haven't found the right one. The van is still running like new with no issues or maintenance expenses. Let's keep it that way.

Purchased in May 2013, I have really enjoyed many of the features and would definitely buy this car again. While the mileage is a bit of a concern, averaging only 11-13 MPG, I find the car to be comfortable, well-made, and quiet. One thing to note is that the emergency brake lever is located near the lower leg, which could potentially cause injury in an accident. Overall, I find this car to be a pleasure to use on a daily basis.

No problems, the Nissan Quest was exactly what I expected. It's beautiful and runs wonderfully!

I bought a brand new Nissan Quest and we really enjoyed it until the AC compressor stopped working at 70,000 miles. Although technically out of warranty, it was too early to expect a $1000 repair. I contacted Nissan One and asked if they would stand behind their product since it still had relatively low miles. They requested a Nissan garage to look at the problem before they could say. The local garage had already diagnosed the problem, but Nissan wanted to charge me $100 to do so. After spending a long morning waiting at the dealership, I sent Nissan the information, but unfortunately, they declined to help cover the $1000 bill for the repairs without providing any apparent reason. While it may be unfair to fault them since it wasn't under warranty, I would have preferred a company that stands behind their product better and doesn't cost a fortune before hitting the 100,000 mark.

We love the car! It's fully equipped. However, we wanted to share our experience with the CVT Transmission. We've noticed some slipping with our transmission after 90,000 miles. We recommend doing some research before purchasing a Nissan with a CVT Transmission, as we've heard similar stories from others. Thank you for considering our experience!
