In 4 years of owning my 6, I have never had to bring it to the mechanic. My baby has been problem-free. The car is a blast to drive, especially when the turbo kicks in around 2600rpm. The only issue I have noticed is that there seems to be a bottleneck with at least 4 feet of piping from the turbo to the intercooler to the throttle. If you free that up, it'll be much better!

I bought my Mazda for $425 with new tires and clutch. Although I had to replace many aged items such as brakes, axle, tie rod, brake hoses, and sway bar, I loved the power it had and the get-up was great. It even smoked many sportscars without even shifting out of 4th gear. The fuel economy was great unless I was racing. One little tap on the gas pedal and your head got thrown back. The front seats had plenty of room, but the back was a little crammed. It did eat oil for dinner and you could smell it, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the ride. I traded the car in when it started to nickel and dime me to death on an Escort. I miss the ol' Mazda and won't forget its purr.

I've owned this car for 13 years and it's been great! As long as you get the oil changed every 3000 miles, it runs smoothly. There have been a few minor issues, like the antenna not working after 12 years, but overall it's been a powerful and reliable car. Of course, it's important to drive responsibly to avoid getting tickets. I plan on keeping mine until it falls apart!
