The piston in the master cylinder dislodged, preventing proper braking in at least two of the four disc brake calipers. The Duralast master cylinder has been retained for inspection. The safety of the driver, passengers, other motorists and pedestrians were placed at risk due to the malfunction of the shoddily manufactured brake component. Braking distance and stopping efficiency were adversely affected. The problem was confirmed by the automobile repair center. The manufacturer has, so far, failed to contact me about the defective brake component. No warning lamps or messages were associated with the master cylinder failure.

THE SERVICE WAS DECLINED AND THE OWNER WAS INFORMED IT MIGHT BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE STEERING COULD LOCK UP, MAKING IT MORE PROBABLE FOR AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR. AT PRESENT, THE OWNER IS ADDING PS FLUID TO THE VEHICLE WHEN IT RUNS LOW AND HOPING FOR THE BEST. A FEW MECHANICS HAVE COMMENTED THIS MIGHT BE THE LESS EXPENSIVE OPTION. HOWEVER, WITH A BROKEN RACK/PINION, IT MAKES THE VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO RESALE. MECHANICS ARE BECOMING MORE AND MORE AWARE OF THIS COSTLY MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE 2005 LEXUS. LUCKILY THE COVER WAS CLOSED AND THE GLASS DID NOT FALL ON US. IT WAS BOTH SCARY AND A SHOCK THAT THIS HAPPENED. THE GLASS IS DEFECTIVE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HWY IN CLEAR CONDITIONS, NEAR BERKELEY CALIFORNIA ON 580, NO OVER PASS ABOVE THE CAR, NO OTHER CARS PASSING OR IN FRONT WHEN THE GLASS BROKE,NO TURNING INVOLVED. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO MY LOCAL LEXUS DEALER, THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN A DAY OR TWO TO LET ME KNOW IF THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE DEFECT OR NOT.

IF THE ADHESIVE IS INSUFFICIENT, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE OUTER RING MAY BECOME MISALIGNED AND IT MAY NOT PROPERLY ROTATE WITH THE INNER RING, CAUSING NOISE AND/OR ILLUMINATION OF THE BATTERY DISCHARGE INDICATOR LIGHT.
- Consequence: IN SOME CASES, THE BELT FOR THE POWER STEERING PUMP MAY BECOME DETACHED FROM THE PULLEY WHICH COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND A SUDDEN INCREASE IN STEERING EFFORT, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: TOYOTA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL CHECK THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY TO IDENTIFY WHETHER IT WAS PRODUCED BY THE U.S. SUPPLIER. IF SO, THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE PULLEY WITH A NEW ONE AT NO CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING EARLY JANUARY 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.

We bought this brand new and kept it for only 7 months. My wife didn't realize she wanted a car that responded quickly when you press the gas pedal. We tried to fix the constant hesitations in the controller, but eventually gave up and sold the car. We replaced it with a BMW X5, which is much better than the Lexus.

I absolutely love Toyota/Lexus vehicles! Their performance, reliability, and service are unmatched by any other auto maker. My RX 330 has 35,000 miles on it and still feels brand new. Even my Toyota Land Cruiser from 2002, which has 150,000 miles on it, still runs like a dream. I have never kept a car past 100,000 miles, but with Toyota/Lexus, I know I can rely on them for the long haul. They truly are the best!

Fantastic automobile! It looks great and drives great! Is there any other reason to buy a car? They all get you from point A to point B, but some do it in style! And with a Toyota engine under the hood, reliability is surely there as well.

This vehicle is a joy to take on a trip! The navigation system is a great feature that helps me stay awake and alert while driving through the desert to Las Vegas. The dual temperature control is also a great feature. I was able to inflate the tires to 37 psi and still get 26 mpg without sacrificing comfort. There is plenty of room for two sets of skis and all our gear for a week of skiing at Las Vegas Ski Resort. We didn't even need to purchase a ski rack. Although we needed chains for the last 10 miles, it was no problem! We encountered rain in Las Vegas, snow at Mt. Charleston, and wind on the freeway, but it was no problem at all!

It seems that the RX 330 was designed with women in mind, but some aspects of the design could be improved. For example, the car is higher than the 300 model, which can make it difficult to hear directional signals and create a safety hazard. Additionally, there are blind spots on both sides of the car, and the gas filler hole is too high. The map pocket has been redesigned, but unfortunately, it is now useless. It can be a bit tricky to open the remote hatchback when the car is locked, as it requires two hands to slide back the trunk cover. The guidance system for seeing in reverse is not very useful and could benefit from a beeper system. Finally, the climate control/blower can be too powerful even at the lowest setting, and it can be distracting to constantly look at the screen to change settings. It's also worth noting that the remote starter cannot unlock the car doors when it's on. Overall, there are some areas for improvement, but the RX 330 is still a great car for women and anyone who values safety and convenience.

The RX 330 was not the right fit for me. As someone who is 5'7, I found the seat cushions to be too short and lacking support for my knees. However, I am confident that I will find a better fit in the 04 LS 430 or the '10 RX 350 in four years at a used car price. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.

This car has a bit of a blind spot, which can make backing out of parking lots and other road situations a bit tricky. While it's a luxurious car, it's important to note that this flaw exists. Additionally, I've found it a bit inconvenient to have to use the key to open the trunk, especially when my hands are full with packages and the key is buried in my purse.

I have had this car for 8 years now and unfortunately, it has not been performing well. From the very beginning, the car has had trouble accelerating and despite the dealership's advice to give it time to learn my driving habits, the issue persisted. Additionally, the car has been making an unpleasant metallic noise every 10 starts or so, which the dealership has been unable to diagnose. On top of that, the brake sensor has broken three times, each time costing $300 to replace, which is quite expensive for a car with only 40K miles. As a result of my experience, I would not recommend a Lexus to anyone. It is disappointing to have had such a negative experience with this car.

This car is not worth the hype. Despite being loaded with extra technology features such as Bluetooth, navigation, voice recognition, and DVD, they all fall short of expectations. The Bluetooth is unusable due to poor sound quality, and the voice recognition function does not work. The navigation system is difficult to operate, and a $125 Garmin is more effective. Additionally, the AC is not powerful enough to handle the weather in Austin, which is relatively mild compared to other parts of the south.
