The contact was informed that the piston in the brake master cylinder had become dislodged, causing the braking system to become less efficient. The mechanic replaced the part. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 210,000.

- Summary: An AutoZone, Durlast brand brake master cylinder failed in less than one year. The piston in the master cylinder dislodged, preventing proper braking in at least two of the four disc brake calipers. The Duralast master cylinder has been retained for inspection. The safety of the driver, passengers, other motorists and pedestrians were placed at risk due to the malfunction of the shoddily manufactured brake component. Braking distance and stopping efficiency were adversely affected. The problem was confirmed by the automobile repair center. The manufacturer has, so far, failed to contact me about the defective brake component. No warning lamps or messages were associated with the master cylinder failure.

- Summary: Dear manager: I have this 2006 LEXUS RX400H which has CHECK VSC SYSTEM and CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM problems. When I was driving on the highway, the cruise control button is unable to turn on, when at speed of 65 MPH it will suddenly stall in the middle of the road and the READY light will be off and the vehicle has to be stopped by the emergency lane which is REALLY DANGEROUS. I have searched online and found out there were many complains about this issue and LEXUS issued a recall for this type of car and the dealer can change the inverter and ICM free of charge. - Summary: This vehicle seems to have a well-documented problem with water intrusion that damages the ECU and hybrid battery. The 2006 and 2007 RX400h has the HV battery located under the seat, which is the low spot in the rear section of the car. If water is spilled or the body has a water leak, the water will pool at the center of the battery. Lexus considered this, and added a drain under the battery, but the drain has a filter, presumably to keep insects out, and the filter is easily clogged. This, coupled with a pattern problem of split body seams near the rear hatch strut mount causing a water leak in the rear of the car, has created isolation faults in many of the RX400h SUVs. The condition presents as warnings on the instrument cluster and a no-start condition where the vehicle is inoperable. A search for "lexus ECU water intrusion" brings up my vehicle's exact model and year so this is well-documented.

- Summary: I was driving with the driver’s seat heater turned on. While I were traveling, I noticed that the seat heater was very hot, so I turned it off. I arrived at my destination and parked the vehicle for about two hours. I did not turn the seat heater back on when you returned to the vehicle. I was removing snow from the vehicle with the driver’s door open and some of the snow landed on the driver’s seat. When I brushed the snow off the seat, I noticed a burn mark in the seat cushion. I called Lexus USA to report this 2 days later and showed my local dealer (Lexus of Portland) and they had never seen this before. Here is the response from Lexus today: "In response to your concerns, a vehicle inspection was conducted by a Lexus Field Technical Specialist (FTS) on January 19, 2022 at Bud Clary Toyota of Yakima. A visual inspection confirmed there was a small 6mm x 7mm burn hole in the driver’s seat leather cover on the bottom cushion. The hole was in the outer bolster portion of the bottom cushion. Resistance was checked through the seat warmer grid. The seat back was recorded at .7 ohms and the seat bottom had an open circuit. The seat cover was removed to examine the seat heater grid. Two wires were found near each other at the burn area. One wire was broken at the location. Our FTS disconnected the seat heater switch after the inspection was completed." They left me with now 2 non functioning seat heaters by disconnecting it during a cold winter. They did not offer any sort of assistance or recommendations for next steps, I feel like they hung me out to dry.

I particularly love the hands-free phone feature, which automatically lowers the radio volume and alerts me of incoming calls without any effort on my part. The steering wheel controls are also very convenient, allowing me to adjust the stereo volume, answer phone calls, and even use voice commands. In fact, you can control many features of the car with just your voice, which is perfect for those lazy days. Whenever someone gets in my car, they always compliment the smooth ride and stylish interior, even without knowing it's a Lexus. I couldn't ask for more!

The vehicle experienced a major malfunction and unfortunately, the warranty was not honored by the dealer. Despite numerous attempts to have the vehicle inspected by the Toyota leasing company, no action was taken. Due to this experience, I have lost confidence in the Lexus and Toyota brands and will not be purchasing their products in the future. It is worth noting that the Toyota website acknowledges the engine design flaw, however, they do not take responsibility for it.

At 14000 miles, the rotors had to be replaced after the steering wheel began to shake. Then, at 27000 miles, while driving down an 8-mile 7% grade in third gear, I had to brake because the traffic slowed. Suddenly, the steering wheel shook so badly that I had to pull over and let the rotors cool before proceeding. Unfortunately, the rotors had to be replaced for a second time. If you have a paint chip on the bumper, it is advisable not to take the RX330 through a high-pressure car wash as the paint may peel off the bumper, as it did in my case. Lexus will not take responsibility for this issue, even if the car is within warranty. However, I would like to suggest that you take caution while driving the vehicle.

Although I am disappointed, I have owned three Lexus vehicles and have learned that it is wise to avoid purchasing a first-year model. Despite my initial expectations, I have encountered several issues with my current Lexus. In hindsight, I should have waited for a more established model.

I have decided to switch back to a German car. Although my RX has been relatively maintenance-free for almost 3 years, it is not as comfortable as I would like, and the road noise is quite loud. Additionally, I do not feel as safe while driving it due to its handling. Thank you for the experience, but it is time for me to move on.
