2016 Lexus Ls460 problems
The Lexus LS (Japanese: レクサス・LS, Hepburn: Rekusasu LS) is a full-size luxury sedan (F-segment in Europe) serving as the flagship model of Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota. For the first four generations, all LS models featured V8 engines and were predominantly rear-wheel-drive. In the fourth generation, Lexus offered all-wheel-drive, hybrid, and long-wheelbase variants. The fifth generation changed to using a V6 engine with no V8 option, and only one length was offered.
As the first model developed by Lexus, the LS 400 debuted in January 1989 with the second generation debuting in November 1994. The LS 430 debuted in January 2000 and the LS 460/LS 460 L series in 2006. A domestic-market version of the LS 400 and LS 430, badged as Toyota Celsior (Japanese: トヨタ・セルシオ, Hepburn: Toyota Serushio), was sold in Japan until the Lexus marque was introduced there in 2006. In 2006 (for the 2007 model year), the fourth generation LS 460 debuted the first production eight-speed automatic transmission and an automatic parking system. In 2007, V8 hybrid powertrains were introduced on the LS 600h/LS 600h L sedans.
Development of the LS began in 1983 as the F1 project, the code name for a secret flagship sedan. At the time, Toyota's two existing flagship models were the Crown and Century models – both of which catered exclusively for the Japanese market and had little global appeal that could compete with international luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar. The resulting sedan followed an extended five-year design process at a cost of over US$1 billion, and premiered with a new V8 engine and numerous luxury features. The Lexus LS was intended from its inception for export markets, and the Lexus division was formed to market and service the vehicle internationally. The original LS 400 debuted to strong sales, and was largely responsible for the successful launch of the Lexus marque.
Since the start of production, each generation of the Lexus LS has been manufactured in the Japanese city of Tahara, Aichi. The name "LS" stands for "Luxury Sedan", although some Lexus importers have preferred to define it as "Luxury Saloon". The name "Celsior" is taken from Latin word "celsus", meaning "lofty" or "elevated".

Common 2016 Lexus Ls460 problems
The 2016 Lexus LS460 has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. One of the most significant issues is related to the engine, specifically the aluminum fuel delivery pipes in the engine compartment. These pipes can corrode and cause fuel leaks, which can lead to increased fuel consumption and even pose a fire hazard due to their proximity to the hot engine compartment.
Another problem with the 2016 Lexus LS460 is the engine coolant leak, which can cause the engine to overheat. This issue is often associated with the valve spring, which can degrade and break due to the intrusion of outer materials. Regular inspection and maintenance of the engine and fuel delivery system are crucial to avoid these problems and ensure the engine's longevity.
The 2016 Lexus LS460 also has potential fuel pump damage, which can lead to the engine stalling while driving. This model has two fuel pumps: a low-pressure and a high-pressure pump. The low-pressure pump sends fuel from the tank into the fuel lines, while the high-pressure pump accurately transfers fuel into the combustion chamber. If the low-pressure pump fails, the combustion ratio may be off, causing engine issues.
In addition to engine and fuel pump problems, the 2016 Lexus LS460 has been reported to have issues with its steering assist system. The steering assist system can activate without reason, compromising the handling and steering response of the car. This issue has been pronounced a safety threat, leading to recalls for some model years.
The braking system in the 2016 Lexus LS460 has also been reported to have problems, including brake actuator failure and increased brake pad wear. These issues can lead to bothersome noises from the brakes and even prevent the driver from operating the car properly, making it essential to avoid problematic model years to avoid costly repairs.
In conclusion, while the 2016 Lexus LS460 is a luxury vehicle with a powerful engine, it has been reported to have several common problems related to the engine, fuel delivery system, steering assist system, and braking system. Regular inspection and maintenance are crucial to avoid these problems and ensure the car's longevity and reliability.

TIRES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-08-25
- VIN: JTHBL5EF0G5
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: On march 17, 2022, I purchased 4-Michelin CrossClimate2 car tires (245/45R19/XL 102V) for my Lexus LS460. From the attached photos you can see how soft the rubber is as tested with a Durometer Meter reading of 54 compared to 64.5 Meter on the replaced Michelin Radial MXV.4 tire. Never had a single problem with the MXV.4 tires. Those tires came with the Lexus and had a hard rubber ridge just above the rim which protects these tires from damage. I don't remember ever running into a curb with the CrossClimate2 tires that caused the damage to the tire. The scuffing of the rim wheel is due to tall curbs, narrow tires, narrow drive ways and the driver of course. The CrossClimate2 tire was on the front driver side and usually never is a problem with contact with the curb, these rims have been rotated many times and show curb scuffing. The 4-Michelin CrossClimate2 rubber is very very soft and should have a protective edge to the tire and harder rubber like the Michelin Radial MXV.4 tires, there is no protection as is the case with the Radial X. I spoke to Michelin help desk twice and only received a directive, talk to your dealer. I purchased these tires from Amazon Business and had Walmart install the tires. I checked the Durometer on two of the CrossClimate2 tires still on the auto and the Durometer reading is not consistent on the rubber hardness, telling me there is a problem in manufacturing and quality control. The 4-Michelin CrossClimate2 tires are defective in manufacture and design and I would not recommend them 100%. As soon as I saw the slit in the tire I went to a Tire Dealer who said that the tire could rapture, so I removed the CrossClimate2 tire and replaced it with the spare, Michelin Radial MXV.4 on August 26, 2022.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2017-10-08
- VIN: JTHCL5EF8G5
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE
- Summary: I PURCHASED LEXUS LS460 AWD 2016 IN 01/2017. FEW MONTHS AGO THE NOISE LEVEL IN THE CABIN BECAME TOO LOUD EVEN TO HEAR THE RADIO. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LEXUS DEALER WHO SOLD THE CAR TO ME FOR CHECK UP. I ASKED THEM TO USE A DECBEL METER TO READ THE NOISE LEVEL. INSTEAD THEY SENT A TECHNICIAN TO DRIVE THE CAR AND HE SAID THAT THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM TIRES. IF THAT WAS THE CASE I ASKED THEM TO CHANGE ALL THE TIRES (I AGREED TO PAY). BUT THEY REFUSED TO CHANGE FOR SOME FLIMSY REASON TO HELP ME TO SAVE MONEY. I FIGURED OUT THAT TIRES WERE NOT THE CAUSE AND SOMETHING ELSE COULD BE THE REA SON THEY DID NOT WANT TO DISCLOSE OR EXPOSE. IN THE MEANTIME THE CAR STARTED STALLING WHILE DRIVING 2 MONTHS AGO AND I IGNORED IT THINGKING MY NEW SHOES WERE CAUSING IT. THEN DAY BEOFE YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS CLIMBING A STEEP SLOPE IN CAPITOL HEIGHTS THE CAR STALLED AND I WAS TO FORCED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR WITH ALL MY STRENGTH TO PUSH IT FORWARD AND IT SLOWLY CLIMBED THE SLOPE. I WAS CONCERNED TO THE EXTENT I FEARED THAT IT COULD SLIDE BACKWARDS CAUSING MAJOR ACCIDENT. I COMPLAINRD TO LEXUS AND THEY SENT ME TO ANOTHER DEALER. AGAIN NO DECIBEL METER WAS USED ANDTHE MECHANIC SAW EVERYTHING NORMAL AND THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS REVEALED NOTHING. NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ENGINE IN LS460 HAS STALLING PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLY UNDER RECALL FOR FIXING THE VALVE IN THE ENGINE. THE CAR HAS ONLY 43K MILES AND ASKED LEXUS TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE. BUT LEXUS REFUSED WITHOUT ANY REASONABLE EXPLANATION. THE VEFICLE WAS ON A CITY STREET IN CAPITOL HEIGHTS WHILW TAKING A RIGHT TURN TO A STEEP SLOPE STREET.WHEN IT STALLED.

We bought this car brand new in January 2015 and have driven it for 41,000 miles since then. It's a beautiful car that feels very sturdy and reliable, and it gets excellent gas mileage (an average of 21 mpg). However, one thing that stands out to me is the tire pressure reset button. It's located somewhere under the dashboard and is extremely difficult to find and reach. You have to keep it depressed until the light blinks three times, all while crouched under the dash. It's frustrating, but keep in mind that you only need to use it when inflating the tires. Despite this minor inconvenience, the Lexus is a great car overall!

Overall, this is a quality car for the money. However, the leather on the front seats is second-rate and tends to crack after repeated use. Additionally, the info unit requires an interface that can be time-consuming. The upscale wheels tend to easily fill with brake dust, making them look dirty most of the time. Despite these minor issues, the car has proven to be highly dependable.

This car is really comfortable to drive, spacious, and has great power when you need it. I absolutely love the seats, especially since I'm a bigger person. This is actually my second one and I plan on continuing to buy the LS!

I've had several of these LS models dating back to '96. I even have an '18 LS, but I have to say that the '16 and '17 models are the best ones for my money.

I've owned 4 Lexus LS460s over the years and I have never had any issues with them. I have ridden in many other brand cars that my friends drive, but I find the Lexus to be the most comfortable and quiet. It is definitely one of the best cars on the planet and they hold their value really well. Since I don't put a lot of miles on my cars, I can usually resell them for a great price.

I have owned 7 Lexus vehicles, including 3 LS460s. While I find the control panel to be subpar and the gas mileage to be worse than my previous 2WD LS models, I still believe this is a great car overall. It achieves a maximum of 23mpg on the highway, whereas my previous models achieved 28+mpg. Despite these drawbacks, I remain confident in my satisfaction with this vehicle.

I understand your concerns about the Lexus LS460, but I would like to kindly suggest that it may be more appropriate to rank it last in its class. As some reviewers have noted, the technology can be hit or miss, with issues such as Bluetooth connection with phones, navigation, and voice commands. Additionally, visibility may be quite poor for individuals over 6 feet tall, and the seats may not be as comfortable as one would hope. It is also understandable that you may feel that dealer and manufacturer support is lacking. However, I appreciate your feedback and hope that Lexus can continue to improve their products and services.

The front seats are quite difficult to adjust properly and unfortunately, they are not very comfortable. As someone who has owned many Lexus vehicles, I must say that this is the least comfortable car I have ever driven. While this issue may not be immediately apparent during a test drive, it becomes quite noticeable after driving for an hour or more. In my opinion, this car is overrated and the electronics are quite slow. I attempted to communicate my concerns with the factory, but unfortunately, they did not seem to be very interested in my feedback.

The car's automatic braking hold feature can be challenging to operate safely, which has led to some dissatisfaction among customers. However, with proper training and practice, drivers can learn to use this feature effectively and safely.

I loved my 1998 Lexus and thought upgrading to a newer model with new technology would be an improvement. However, I have been disappointed with many things. The navigation system has been a disaster with the remote mouse, unlike BMW/Mercedes/Audi iDrive which are much easier to use. Unfortunately, the voice control doesn't work either. The keyless entry is also unreliable, making it impossible to debug because it is intermittent. I have the F Sport model, but the front seats are very uncomfortable, and the back is too narrow unless you're a very small person. Unlike BMW and Mercedes, Lexus doesn't have adjustments for this. Additionally, there are many features that the German cars have, but Lexus doesn't offer in this flagship car, such as massage front seats, contour seats, self-parking, and surround cameras.
