The Mercury Cougar was launched in 1967 as a unique-bodied higher-trim alternative to the Mustang; during the 1970s, it included more features and was marketed as a personal luxury car.
From 1965 until 2004, the Mustang shared chassis commonality with other Ford model lines, staying rear-wheel-drive throughout its production. From 1965 to 1973, the Mustang was derived from the 1960 Ford Falcon compact. From 1974 until 1978, the Mustang (denoted Mustang II) was a longer-wheelbase version of the Ford Pinto. From 1979 until 2004, the Mustang shared its Fox platform chassis with 14 other Ford vehicles (becoming the final one to use the Fox architecture). Since 2005, Ford has produced two generations of the Mustang, each using a distinct platform unique to the model line.
Through its production, multiple nameplates have been associated with the Ford Mustang series, including GT, Mach 1, Boss 302/429, Cobra (separate from Shelby Cobra), and Bullitt, along with "5.0" fender badging (denoting 4.9 L OHV or 5.0 L DOHC V8 engines).

I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE WITH MY SAFETY CONCERNS AND REQUESTED THEY SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO PLANET FORD TO INSPECT THE TANK FOR DEFECT AND WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED IT. - Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2005-2014 Mustang, 2004-2011 Ranger, 2009-2011 Mercury Milan, 2006 Ford GT, 2008-2012 Fusion, 2007-2010 Edge and Lincoln MKX, and 2009-2010 Lincoln MKZ vehicles. These vehicles may be equipped with a driver or passenger frontal air bag inflator used as a replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the frontal air bag, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver and passenger air bag module, and replace either the module or the inflator, if necessary, free of charge. This Torch Red sports car has a great sound when accelerating. It has received many compliments from teenagers hovering around 'gaga' to oldsters asking how I like it. I can't find anything not to like about it. The road feel is superb, and the quiet ride is comparable to my Lincoln. During a 700-mile road trip in the first month of ownership, I found it comfortable and smooth to travel in, with easy-to-operate dials that kept my attention on the road. I am sure that the upcoming weeks will reveal complete satisfaction with my purchase. The 'Wow Factor' of '10' is also a pleasure.

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share that I bought this car brand new back in July 2010 and I absolutely love it. It's been such a reliable vehicle and I find myself enjoying it more and more every time I take it for a spin. As of 9/21/2022, it has 156,000 miles on it.

This is the best car I have ever owned! It's black on black and I absolutely love driving it. I've never received so many compliments on a car before. When I put the top down, people just stop and stare. I test drove a lot of convertibles before my wife suggested the Mustang. It was the last one I test drove and I got it that same day. Did I mention how much I love driving it? I have become a Mustang Man!

I love commuting every day in my Mustang! It's such a fun ride, especially on those good days when I can drop the top. The sound system is fantastic and really adds to the experience. Even in stop and go traffic and in the city, I enjoy driving the stick - it's so silky smooth and just adds to the fun. In fact, I've been raving about this car for nine years now and have had minimal repairs. I don't usually do surveys, but I just had to share how great this car is. It's got me thinking about trading in my 2010 for a 2019 Mustang GT convertible!

I bought this car on impulse a few months ago. Although it wasn't very impressive to me and I wished I had gotten a v8, there were some cool features like the ability to change the interior lights and the awesome taillights. The resale value was okay, but less than what I paid for it. It's a pretty car, but as someone who is 5'2, it felt quite big and boat-like to drive. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the airbag recall, a strange knocking in the dash (which seems to be a common issue), and peeling paint. Additionally, this particular Mustang had bad brakes and something wrong with the suspension and alignment, which made me feel unsafe driving on highways. However, it did have a surprisingly large amount of cargo space, which was amazing! Overall, I wouldn't get a v6 again, but this car may work for someone else.

Congratulations on your purchase of a 2010 Mustang V6 Automatic from a Ford dealer! This car is definitely a head-turner with its stunning looks and attractive interior. While the power may not be overwhelming, it still offers a smooth and comfortable driving experience similar to a Toyota Camry. The Mustang's affordable price point of just over 20 grand makes it a desirable option for those looking for a sports car platform. Of course, if you're looking for more power and speed, the GT is the way to go. Overall, the Mustang is a great vehicle, although you personally prefer a 2007 C230. I purchased the GT (not Premium) with the 3.73 rear axle package, which came with better brakes and sportier stability programming. Unfortunately, my 08 335i had a faulty high-pressure fuel pump, so I decided to get a Stang to ride out the economy. The engine's power, torque, and sound are more enjoyable than a 335's. However, the handling is a bit loose and bouncy front to back and side to side. To improve this, I found it necessary to spend an extra $2k to upgrade the suspension from the 2005-FR3 package, which lowers the car and tightens things up. Although the steering feel is light and dead numb, the engine makes up for it. Overall, it's a very fun car!
