THIS VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN NHTSA RECALL 05V379000 CONCERNING THE ABS SYSTEM BUT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. THE CAR HAD BEEN TAKEN TO A GM DEALER TWO MONTHS EARLIER (IN JULY) WITH A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS SYSTEM. THE GM DEALER DID NOT MENTION THE RECALL BUT MADE EXTENSIVE (AND EXPENSIVE) REPAIRS TO THE CAR. THE CAR EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER, WHEN IT LED TO THE FIRE. I SEE THIS IS A PROBLEM AFTER I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THE WEB. I PULLED THE MAIN ABS 60 FUSE UNDER THE HOOD TO TURN OFF THE SYSTEM. THIS CAUSES THE BREAK WARNING FAILURE LIGHT TO COME ON BUT I CAN AT LEAST STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A FAILURE ON A SAFETY SYSTEM (ABS) THAT ACTUALLY CAUSES A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE...AS EACH STOP IS A POTENTIAL CRASH.

SALT AND DIRT ARE TRAPPED IN THE PLASTIC CLAMP AND NUT, WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE TO WASH OUT. THE FUEL LINES ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK ARE LIKELY TO BE RUSTED, TOO.

UPON BRAKING TO STOP FOR TRAFFIC, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR AND PUMPING THE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES DID NOT RESULT IN ANY BRAKING OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER MANAGING TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THEN PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL MORE TIMES, BRAKE FLUID COULD BE SEEN COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AT BOTH THE AREA AROUND THE REAR AXLE AND THE AREA UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT. LATER, INSPECTION OF THE BRAKE LINES FOUND THEM ALL TO BE SEVERELY RUSTED. AFTER READING THAT THIS IS AN EXISTING PROBLEM WITH GM VEHICLES, IT IS GREATLY DISAPPOINTING, TO SAY THE LEAST, THAT NO NOTIFICATION OR RECALL WAS GIVEN. SUCH A SEVERE AND SCARY SAFETY PROBLEM SHOULD REQUIRE AT LEAST NOTIFICATION OF CUSTOMERS AND BETTER QUALITY DESIGN/CONTROL OF BRAKING COMPONENTS.

I have had this vehicle since new and only had a couple of problems. The I-Shaft for the steering (which GM knows of and repaired) and 2 master cylinders (which were covered under the extended warranty). It drives rock solid on snow, water, and dry pavement. It even pulls my boat trailer and race trailer with little problem. Although a bigger motor would have been a better choice, a Duramax Diesel would be even better!

The Suburban pulls my 4500lb boat effortlessly. I was very impressed with the stability and performance under heavy load. The drive train is very well matched to this size vehicle. I have only had minor problems, all of which were addressed by the Chevrolet dealership. They included a freon leak in the a/c system, a rattle in the steering linkage, and a malfunctioning seatbelt.

After owning a minivan and a station wagon, we decided to buy a Sub and we couldn't be happier with our decision. The spacious interior comfortably fits our family and the truck itself is simply amazing. We purchased it with 12k miles on it and have had no major issues. Despite its size, the fuel economy is decent, with 16-17 mpg on open roads and 11-12 mpg around town. It's also incredibly capable in wintry weather, providing stability and confidence. The auto 4x4 works great too!

I bought this truck last year because we were expecting a new baby and needed more room. I really love this truck! It drives great and the engine is so quiet that you can barely hear it. I haven't had any major problems with it. It's also great for hauling stuff. I had to move my husband's 800 series bobcat and it pulled it so nicely that I could barely tell I was hauling it.

The Suburban is an excellent vehicle that meets the needs of our family, including pulling a boat, hunting, and traveling. However, it is important to note that regular maintenance is required to keep it running smoothly. While we have had to replace the fuel pump and spend some money on repairs between 85,000 and 100,000 miles, this is to be expected with any vehicle. By keeping up with tune-ups, brake flushes, and radiator flushes, we have been able to keep our Suburban in great condition. Overall, I highly recommend the Suburban for families who need a reliable and versatile vehicle.

I've had a positive experience with General Motors vehicles in the past, and I was drawn to the Suburban for its spacious seating and impressive towing capabilities. It's a very comfortable vehicle that handles towing with ease. However, I've had some issues with this particular truck. It's been in the shop 12 times in less than 2 years for various repairs, including steering linkage and air conditioner issues. Unfortunately, the rearend differential recently went out, which is a part that doesn't typically break. Despite this, GM refused to fix it, which has left me disappointed. As a result, I'm now considering a Nissan. Thank you for your time and attention.
