Summary: In Florida, I purchased my 2004 Isuzu Rodeo March 2005 at 134 miles. I've always had issues, but didn't know how to articulate the issues. My truck sits/leans to the right and low in the back. It is uneven as if the shocks or struts are off. Driving one night, the truck slams down/drops low out of no where while driving. When I am driving and need to brake, I have to brake then brake again. I dare not make any sharp turns by parking or anything it's like the truck will slip or axels bend. I am have trouble with the engine currently(September 2022). Oil is leaking but you can't see from where. The engine is making loud rambling sounds. The exhaust sounds muffled. My car parts are not exact because my Rodeo is built like a demo, seemingly. Power Reduced & check engine light happens randomly usually while on the expressway. It slows the vehicle down in the middle of flowing traffic. I have to try to pull over turn car off then back on to try & reset the vehicle. The car now vibrates but don't know from where or cause. How can I get my car repaired?

Summary: MY VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN MINNESOTA WHERE ROAD SALTS ARE IN CONSTANT WINTER USE. ON AUGUST 21, 2019 MY MECHANIC HOISTED MY SUV AND WE WATCHED WITH SURPRISE AS SOME FLAT RUST SLABS FELL TO HIS SHOP FLOOR. HE LOOKED ABOVE THE FALL LOCATION: THE SPARE TIRE IS ATTACHED JUST BELOW A WELL, AND WITHIN THE SPARE-TIRE WHEEL-GAPS WERE ADDITIONAL LOOSE RUST SLABS THAT HAD NOT YET FALLEN. THEY WERE REMOVED. THE MECHANIC THEN PONDERED A LIKELY CAUSE: HE REASONED THE METAL PLATE (AND/OR THE AREAS ALONGSIDE IT) THAT HELPS SECURE THE SPARE TIRE MIGHT BE EXCESSIVELY RUSTY. TO SEE IT HE HAD TO INSERT HIS HEAD UP INTO THE WELL, BUT WHICH DID NOT GIVE HIM ENOUGH OF CLEAR VIEW TO ASSESS THE MATTER ADEQUATELY (NOR COULD I MANAGE TO GET MUCH OF A LOOK). HE REASONED THAT MINNESOTA WINTER-SALT ROAD-SPRAY CAN REACH THE WELL (HE SAID THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING THERE CALLED A CARRIER ASSEMBLY OF PARTS) AND CORRODE THE PLATE, MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR THE SPARE TIRE TO COME LOOSE WHILE MY SUV IS MOTION, CREATING A ROAD HAZARD. WE DID PHOTOGRAPHY BUT DID NOT HAVE A FLEXIBLE-NECK CAMERA TO INSERT UP INTO THE WELL. SO ALL WE HAVE ARE SNAPS OF 1) MANY OF FLAT RUST SLABS THAT FELL DOWN DURING THE MECHANICS INSPECTION (SHOWN AS A PILE ON THE FLOOR JUST BELOW THE SPARE TIRE?S WELL LOCATION) IN ONE PHOTO, AND 2) AN UPWARD SHOT AT THE SPARE TIRE WITH SOME RUST SLABS THAT HAD NOT YET FALLEN, WHICH ALSO OFFERS A GENERAL LOOK OF WHEEL AND WELL RUST CONDITIONS THAT WE SAW. Summary: Isuzu Manufacturing Services of America, Inc (Isuzu) is recalling certain model year 2003-2004 Rodeo and Axiom, and 2003 Rodeo Sport vehicles that were originally sold in, or are currently registered in, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Kentucky and Missouri. These vehicles may experience excessive corrosion near the forward mounting point bracket for the left or right rear suspension lower link.
Consequence: The corrosion may allow the bracket to detach from the frame, impacting vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear suspension lower link bracket area. For vehicles in which little or no corrosion is found, the area will be treated with an anti-corrosive compound. For vehicles in which corrosion has damaged the rear suspension lower link bracket and affected its connection to the vehicle frame, a reinforcement bracket will be installed. In the event the corrosion is so severe that the reinforcement bracket remedy would not be sufficient, Isuzu will offer to repurchase the vehicle for an amount based on the Kelley Blue Book "Private Party" price. All inspections and remedies will be provided free of charge for vehicles that are 10 years old or less. For vehicles older than 10 years, Isuzu will offer a free remedy, but only if the vehicle is presented to an Isuzu service facility dealer within 12 months of when owner notifications were issued, after that time owners will be charged for the repairs. The recall is expected to begin in mid-December 2013. Isuzu owners may contact Isuzu at 1-800-255-6727.

My husband and I purchased this car used with 98K miles. It has been our trusty companion through thick and thin. I am happy to report that we have had no major mechanical issues with this car, only regular maintenance. It has even crossed the country three times without any problems. Although the engine may sound rough, we first noticed it three years ago when we towed a Cavalier with it from GA to WA. It's amazing that it still keeps going, cranking just like a brand new car.

In a nutshell, this car is capable on and off-road, but it has been a real maintenance nightmare. Unfortunately, I have had to replace the a/c 3 times, the horn/airbag unit twice, the alternator, generator, battery cable, water pump, EGR valve and seal, purge valve solenoid, intake gasket, rear wiper motor, rear door lock 3 times, rear passenger door lock, and the right rear ABS sensor, in addition to dealing with a dozen factory recall items. As a result, I have become quite knowledgeable about rental cars.

I am not satisfied with the performance of this truck. The drive feels weak and lacks pick-up. In comparison, my mother's 4 cylinder car has more vroom. I find it difficult to enjoy driving this truck, especially considering that I have only owned it for less than a year. I regret my decision to purchase it.

I've owned my RODEO for two years now and I have to say, I'm a bit surprised at how quickly it has depreciated. However, I understand that I got what I paid for. While the interior of the truck may not be the most luxurious, it still gets the job done. The plastic material used for the dash and other parts may be a bit thin, but I haven't had any major problems with it. The truck has good power for its size, although the air conditioning can take a while to kick in. The ride can be a bit bumpy on rough roads, but overall it's a decent ride. If you're not too concerned about having a fancy interior or great gas mileage, then this truck could be a good fit for you.

I couldn't find a better deal than this and it has been a great choice so far! I have the '02 Rodeo LS 4WD and it looks and rides excellent! I have the factory stereo and think it is just fine, despite others poor reviews of it. The sliding sunroof and side tubes were a nice addition too. Highly recommend this one!!

I believe that this SUV is an excellent choice for small families and single individuals. Unlike some other SUVs, it is not too large and overwhelming. Instead, it strikes a perfect balance as a midsize vehicle with a powerful V6 engine. The four-wheel drive is also great for off-roading or driving in snowy conditions. I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my 1995.5 model with 130000 miles. Despite some minor issues like sticky rear power locks, one dead alternator and starter relay switch, this vehicle has been extremely reliable. I'm amazed that I still have the original front brake pads and rotors (front and rear) at 130,000 miles; they're worn out and need to be replaced, but it's impressive how durable they are. The Rodeo rides rough like a truck and tends to eat tires, and I've had some trouble keeping it in alignment. However, I don't let these minor issues bother me and just keep on driving. I've towed a variety of trailers with it and it handles up to about 3000 lbs well, although it struggles a bit on really big hills. Thank you for taking the time to read my experience!
